I just got up to 120 on Robbinwould. After 80ish i used banded armor and then at like 100 I skilled up using ornate armor. I think fine plate armor is next for trying to skill up. I see the price starting to go up quickly though.

In my opinion TLPs helped fix the "dumbing it down" that you mention
