Scenic, non-technical, e-bike ride in the English Lake District

- Scenic, low level, hardtail e-bike ride in the English Lake District (Grasmere, Rydal Water and Elter Water) using bridleways (roughly 50% off road) and minor roads where possible, for those who are young at heart but who don't fancy the more technical, high level routes; the routes that are readily available in books, magazines, youtube etc.
This ride is 27 miles long but can easily be shortened. A basic map showing the route is available at the end of the video.
The video pays particular attention to the terrain to ensure potential riders can judge if the route is suitable for their level of riding ability. I've put together this ride and several others (work in progress) as I've found a distinct lack of detailed information on rideable off road routes for those of us with mountain e-bikes (hardtail or full suspension) who want to enjoy an easier ride. I've spent considerable time walking bridleways to assess rideability as many are just not suitable for our needs or just overgrown!
The number of senior e-bike riders appears to be rapidly increasing and I'm hoping these routes will be useful to those visiting Cumbria and the Lake District and maybe even the local residents, like ourselves.

This is so helpful; I am a roadie at heart but the roads in the Lakes are too narrow and stonewall sided for it to feel safe. I will be basing my first hard tail adventure on this route. Many thanks

Come on guys, eco will bust your legs n lungs,,,,😂done a bit of these tracks on my gravel epic ride, 2022 😊👌🇬🇧fantastically explained video👏👏👏❤️🇬🇧if you put the bosch in to emtb mode your bike will give you power only when you need it so your not constantly changing power modes😉👍

Another great scenic video, well done to you both. I recognise some of the route, I cycled up great langdale, it was quite a climb, but very steep so I had to push my ebike up in parts, but the view from the top was well worth it😊

Hi there , great to see this type of video, very helpful as I am looking for non-technical eMTB routes at first, I may look for slightly more challenging bits of routes as confidence grows. My problem is that it is very difficult to plan and find these routes; even locally in the Lythe valley I was caught out by a locked forestry gate and with my Cube MTB weighing 23Kg that wasn't a lift for me! So, just wondering if you make your routes available with a GPS file such as gpx, or on Strava or similar as this would make my plotting a route easier?
Am also looking at Komoot to see what that offers.

Thank you for the positive comment. You should be able to find most of the routes on Komoot under Cumbrian e-bike trails. Hope this helps.

Hi Erik, Thank you for your kind comment. I use the app Komoot (Cumbrian e-bike trails) and I have made routes available on there to view but to download GPX file on Komoot I think you have to unfortunately unlock the local Komoot map for which they charge! Sorry can’t think of any other way to get GPX to you as not techie! Hope you manage to sort as it really is a lovely route.
