An enjoyable, fairly easy route for the novice off-road mountain biker. The video pays particular attention to the terrain to ensure potential riders can judge if it is suitable for their level of riding ability.
This is a scenic, circular, emtb ride in the English Lake District National Park starting from Low Lorton village, South of Cockermouth, and heading off on bridleways across Whin Fell, through lovely countryside, towards Mosser. Another bridleway takes you down to Loweswater shoreline followed by a climb on tarmac up Fangs Brow and onto the coffin/corpse route running above Loweswater, a truly fantastic track. Unavoidable sections on country lanes and more bridleways return us back to the start.
This ride is 17 miles long & roughly 55% off-road. Almost all the road sections are on very quiet country lanes and as you would expect, the scenery throughout is spectacular.
This is a lovely route for those riders who don't want anything too technical; the routes that are readily available in books, magazines, youtube etc. A couple of short rockier sections on the coffin/corpse bridleway are potentially the only trickier bits. I easily rode these but I appreciate everyone has different riding abilities!
I've put together this ride and several others as I've found a distinct lack of detailed information on rideable off-road routes for those of us with mountain e-bikes (hardtail or full suspension) who want to enjoy a non-technical, but fun, ride.
The number of senior e-bike riders appears to be rapidly increasing and I'm hoping these routes will be useful to those visiting Cumbria and the Lake District and maybe even the local residents, like ourselves.
A basic map showing the route is available at the end of the video or you can view the route on Komoot at Cumbrian e-bike trails.

Very enjoyable route with fantastic scenery. I think you do underestimate your abilities though. You are clearly a very capable rider and you mastered some very technical sections with ease. Your videos are very inspiring. 😎👍

Thank you for the kind & generous comment. On the stoney bits I’m not sure it’s down to my ability or the actual e-bike I ride ….. it tackles these trails these with ease! 😃🚵🏻‍♀️

Hi Kate some of your back ground music is loud,, cant hear your commentary my dear😮beautiful ride😊👍🇬🇧never understand kate why the national trust cant maintain these paths of shrubbery and weeds, they make enough money to do so.... There should be a complaint app that you go on and mention the track in question so it can be strimmed and sprayed,,,if possible😊👌♥️

Thank you. I plan routes on Komoot and transfer to the Bosch Flow app to use on either the Kiox 300 bike display (bit basic) or use my iphone mounted on Bosch phone holder. Tbh I also have OS maps on my phone and use them to confirm route when out and about as bridleways not always signed! These routes can be found on Komoot under ‘Cumbrian e-bike trails’.
