I trust Lucifer. The first angel Amenadiel is responsible for the death of two humans. So far in the show Lucifer hasn't killed anyone. He's all about punishment, not killing random people just for kicks.
You're absolutely right that Lucifer in season 1 is not trustworthy. It's not that he's lying, but his spectrum of acceptable behavior is wide and morally shaky, and unless you specifically list to him what he cannot do and he agrees to it he will use whatever means he can think of that will expedite your request (a bit like the artist that made a deal with him a few episodes back, Lucifer let his misdeeds fall onto a different guy and had no qualms about it until he realised the guy he made a deal with was faking his talent). For a person like Chloe who has a strict code of moral conduct and behavior he's a great partner because he thinks outside of her typical range of thought, but also someone she has to keep an eye on to make sure he doesn't cross lines she doesn't agree with. What's great about this show is that the main characters all have pretty clear objectives, and they clash constantly creating conflict and driving their development. Amenadiel is a pretty good example in this episode. He's an angel. Typically he would be like Chloe. He has a strong code of ethics that he would follow to the letter, everything has it's place, and everyone has a way they should act as His Father wills. Except Lucifer doesn't fit that and Amenadiel sees it as his sacred duty to make sure His Father's Purpose (mysterious as it is) be accomplished, and that is a higher priority than his own moral code. And so he slowly slips into worse and worse behavior to restore what he believes is the Grand Order of the world.
I like seeing Lucifer and Amenadiel laughing together over the fake St Paul chains -- fun to see them actually get along for a minute. And then their fight on the beach was intense! Gives me chills when the wings go up in flames, and when Lucifer says "That's right, brother, fall as I did!" Oooooh. 😄 As you can see by last episode and this one, this is where things start to ramp up. As Lucifer once said to Maze, "The fun's just beginning." 😉🪽
The building is one of two used in the show. One is the one on Sunset Boulevard (don't ask me more about it, never been to LA) now called Sunset Tower Hotel, that once housed John Wayne and Howard Hughes, who brought his mistresses in via secret passages. Very proper. Although they filmed a lot in Vancouver, many shots of the outside of Lux are from LA. El Capitan serves as one site. The nightclub, ironically named Lux from Latin 'light' - Fiat lux, Let there be light - is a studio set, and Lucifer's den above. Lucifer a.k.a. 'Lightbringer' shows his fall by the seedy, dark seductive atmosphere of his 'Light' nightclub clearly.
I understand that the character generally smokes, but Tom Elis gave up cigarettes years ago. That's why he is with the cigarette but never actually smoking.
I'm not a lipstick wearer so I can't comment on that, but I do really like that colour on you. It doesn't look particularly orange to me (although that may be the lighting), but the red really pops on video and works well with the streaks in your hair. The exterior of Lucifer's club/ apartment is the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. Built in 1931 and renovated in the 1980s, it is considered one of the finest examples of art deco in greater LA. Ah-men-ah-deel is the pronunciation used in the show. The name is not Biblical, it was constructed by Gaiman from the Hebrew words "Amen" (Truth or Certainty) + "Ad" (Hebrew: forever; Latin: of or with) + "El" (God).
Try a small space heater to help keep you warm. I have 2 different ones. A light one with a 2-speed fan and dial for the amount of heat. The other is heavy and is a radiator, oil filled with a temperature setting, and autoshut off. You can be a fairy godmother cleaning the house with your magic wand. I don't remember Amenadiel being sent by God. More like Amenadiel is doing what he thinks God wants.
Come on now. I was just about to go to sleep at like 2:00 AM and then see this was uploaded. Dang it. Can't help but watch someone watching more of my favorite show for sure lmao
Without spoiling anything... The writers for Lucifer the TV series were given the goal of providing an episodic tv show with inspiration from and elements of the Lucifer "illustrated stories". The Lucifer Comic series was a long form narrative inspired by, but not necessarily taking on all the elements of the Sandman illustrated stories. Sandman was a long game narrative comic story by Niel Gaiman that was both an elegant story and an equisite mind-fark. All that to say: when you ask why a character isn't doing "blank" in a given moment, it's because the writers see that expectation and choose to pivot into the larger narrative to mess with you and keep you guessing. And, once you finish with Lucifer; please consider reacting to The Sandman. It's much shorter, but plays off of the same inspirations from a different writing team.
Lots more question to which you do NOT want the answers, thank you very much ;-) But I think most people would agree with you that there's a difference between 'never lying' and being trustworthy' PS: Look for the actor who plays 'Malcolm' (cop who was shot and just 'almost' died in TV series "Claws" and in "Breaking Bad" - he always seems to play a sleazy ne'er-do-well.. I blame the mustache! :-)
She said Amenadiel correctly!!!🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳 It does appear that Angels can harm each other. He'll "lie" for a joke. As in episode 1. That being said, as you pointed out, he doesn't always tell the full truth. He's kinda like a fae in that regard.
Oh, the morality tale is just heating up as you noted, this Angel from Heaven is engaging in rather dark pursuits to accomplish his mission! (so who is good and who is bad?) And do we know Amenadiel's "mission" is directed by God, or is it his own interpretation of what his mission should be? How did he know you asked as Amenadiel walks down the hospital hallway after he apparently resurrected Malcolm? The answer will surprise you but I will not spoil it.
I could never say Amenadiel correctly either. I just called him A Man Named Dale. You need to react to the Sandman. Gwendoline Christie does a great Lucifer imo. Just remember that even though Lucifer first appeared in the Sandman comics, Neil has made it clear the two Netflix shows are completely separate. If you do decide to watch Sandman, get ready to be triggered. They do not pull any punches. I would be interested to see how an author sees the episode Calliope.
She points out Lucifer is worried about getting shot then tells him to use "Satan Eyes?" How does she think a room full of armed people would react to someone showing "Satan Eyes?"
God (played by David Palmer) is in no hurry. He creates and allows his creatures to work it out. It may make a confusing story, but I rather prefer it that way.
Would a DNA test work on angel wings? Do angels have DNA? I suppose a visual tissue match might give some degree of insight into provenance. But confirmation of a person with wings would disrupt the human world.
Love your reaction to lucifer ❤❤❤ and your view on certain things due to your life excpirience. 😊😊😊 lucifer doesnt lie but does make him trustworthy??? I still think in some regards he is still shady also telling the truth 😮 so my answer would also be no 😊
I know theres only so many hours in a day but 2 Lucy's a day would AWESOME!. And .... in the future if you find another hour or two here or there. Could you start a reaction to Z Nation. I think it's something you would love watching and we'd all love watching you react to. Just a thought. How did your wings turn out?.
That lip gloss looks nice, though not worth the trouble. Anything that causes major problems, with the ear, nose, and throat, isn't worth it. I'd hate to see what happens if it get's into your eyes. Throw that stuff away! Pls.
“Way more interesting”? I respectfully disagree. I’ve read/seen both (Comic books and The Sandman Netflix series though truthfully did not complete either) This Lucifer “version” where I can really connect with and relate to the characters wins hands down. But it is a matter of perspective for the individual viewers and what they want out of it. All respect to the genius of Neil Gaimon, but I watched and rewatched this “show” because it is not like the comics or the MCU superhero universe.
gods plans... lol just the first one... lets put two people that dont know right from wrong in a playpen with a loaded weapon, tell them not to play with it have a serpent that tells the truth, and make claims to know everything and be everywhere (in later books with other theology i admit) but then go apeshit when the kids play with the thing you told them not to and were out of the room? The Samael thing is mostly from Enoch and later rabbinical literature so dont expect this to strictly follow either canonical bible literature narratives. Just like the fictional bible stories in the form we have today evolved over time, Once they stopped and were canonized, new forms and additions were written and in fact still are being written. The funny red skinned cartoon like devil face is mostly a product of the 14th century, with a little touch of modern saturday morning cartoons added in. Even the NAME Lucifer was a mistranslation in King James version 1 time for the king of babylon. and just like the bibles (KJV) use of the word UNICORNS 9 times , both have now been corrected and removed. Amenadiel is also NOT in the bible. I only found the name in recent works... IE "Amenadiel the “older brother of Lucifer” is not in the bible. He was created for a popular work of fiction in the 17th century, over a thousand years after Jesus supposedly lived."
......that shot of Lucifer with the wings mounted behind him , giving the illusion of him with them is one of the most iconic shots from the show.
He kept the wings as that allowed him to say he was on vacation. Vacations end---if there's no way back, it's not a vacation.
I trust Lucifer. The first angel Amenadiel is responsible for the death of two humans. So far in the show Lucifer hasn't killed anyone. He's all about punishment, not killing random people just for kicks.

Eloquently and succinctly explained. 🫰🏾🫰🏾

Tom Ellis smokes
"Ah-men-a-deal" is the general pronunciation of Amenadiel, you can think, "amen, let's make a deal" for that, with short A's
Divine beings can hurt, or even kill, each other. Also, Maze's knives can hurt divine beings.
4:10 Lucifer draws out peoples desires, not the truth. Or you could say the truth about peoples desires.
I never get over how beautiful that final scene of Lucifer & Chloe at the piano is. Everything about it is just exquisite!
Remember I told you 1x09, you are nearly there, best episode of Lucifer ever.
I'm not a lipstick wearer so I can't comment on that, but I do really like that colour on you. It doesn't look particularly orange to me (although that may be the lighting), but the red really pops on video and works well with the streaks in your hair.

Anna, you simply MUST wear your wings next episode! C'mon, everybody, whatcha say? Wings! Wings! Wings!
How to pronounce Amenadiel.
AMEN (ah-men) A (ah) DIEL (deal).
ah-men-ah-deal 😊
It took lots of us a while to there too.😊

Sorry. I set it to post at 6am. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
FALL AS I DID!!
You are the first reactor I have ever seen echo my thought: "Unless he goes to Heaven"
The building is just a random building in LA that they photoshopped to give a nice balcony and a more photogenic roof.
It's the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. It's a pretty famous landmark.
yeah, but doesn't look even nearly as good as it does in the show.@@Shoomer88

Lucifer's building is The Sunset Tower 8358 Sunset Blvd. in LA, its a very expensive hotel.
The wings share you did... That was so adorable. ♥
The way I pronounce Amenadiel's name is Amen-Ah-deal. However I have audio processing disorder so it's entirely possible I hear it wrong XD
I enjoy watching your responses almost as much as the original show.
She said Amenadiel correctly!!!🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳

Yes, Angels can hurt each other.
Oh, the morality tale is just heating up as you noted, this Angel from Heaven is engaging in rather dark pursuits to accomplish his mission! (so who is good and who is bad?) Happy to see a new reaction!
All will be revealed.
He watches people who interact with Lucifer And then gets information on everything off screen

Close to what I was going to put. a-MIN-a-deal. 😂

That's where the word Amen comes from
Great reaction . Please put out 2 reactions
Haha. Give me more hours in the day!

That lip gloss looks nice, though not worth the trouble. Anything that causes major problems, with the ear, nose, and throat, isn't worth it.
I'd hate to see what happens if it get's into your eyes. Throw that stuff away! Pls.
Black and red not feathery wings... sound more like demonic than angelic to be honest. :D
natural is much better my opinion
The comics version of lucifer are way more interesting then the show

@lib9849 but the comics to this character are way more flushed out then what the show could ever do for him and the visuals are better
Don't trust The Police!
Did you Miss Anna get your Plump and pouty lips since this episode?
