@@Beazle00There are actually serious repercussions for shooting at a polar bear in Svarbald. They have many laws in place to protect them. That is what I love so much about Svarbald- they protect the nature there & the residents respect it. You must be new to this channel because you would’ve already known this. Cecilia can correct me if I am not explaining it correctly.

Yes! Agree! We caught Covid for the first time, at the end of June from a coughing person who must have thought they didn’t have anything contagious. It affected us like s cold would, though the fever at the start alerted us to dig out our remaining Covid tests. Positive! We didn’t test negative until 10 days later. So many “Summer Colds” this year - if they are coming on with fever & aches, it’s probably the latest strain of Covid. Stay away from everyone if you’re sick!

This is everything I’ve wanted to say! They are both SO likable, with such a calming disposition and manner of speaking. And their love for Grim, and genuine love and continual curiosity for Svalbard is incredibly beautiful to watch.

So glad you both recovered. My sister almost died twice from covid, the 2nd time she suffered from covid delirium afterwards and literally went insane...she is fully recovered now, thank heaven. Thanks for all the footage of the wonderful animals, scenery and your gorgeous dog. I was in Svalbard years ago and have some wonderful memories❤

Can I ask where the flu/cold went during convid times? It just vanished and people got brainwashed by the news and forgot what the flu(convid) was.

i lived in alaska and nordic skiied every day..then ibgot covid
..it took me down and yes went insane..full psychological deterioration. its so horrible..will never be thevsame

there’s black bears where my parents live, a mama bear and her two cubs. they actually came onto our property and hung out for a little bit.

I am wondering if you guys remember when they had the snow storm this past winter in Longyearbyen? Cecilia was talking about how much snow there was… I was like: what? That’s not a lot at all. Come to Chicago or more like your guys’s states- you must have a plethora of snow each winter.

I’m literally here in the comments checking before I watch to make sure Grim didn’t get eaten by a polar bear, my heart could not take it. So relieved he was a good boy can came right back inside
I always think it’s funny when they say there is a chill in the air, because for those of us who don’t live in the North Pole their summer temps can also be characterized has having a “chill in the air” too 😂. We all have our different frame of reference!
I bet that Grim could smell the blood on the Polar Bear from his/her kills. Also, the helicopter was a clue too that something was “off”. Beautiful!

So sorry about your trip 😮. I am watching my granddaughter who has Covid (which doesn’t seem to bother a bit after the first couple of days) but my poor husband has it, also, and he sounds sick 😷 . If they have fivegee then they have the C.Funny I never got it working in a pharmacy over the last 3 1/2 yrs.But then I refuse all medical procedures.
With visitors coming & going & unlike Cecilia , they travel instead of staying home. Then it gets on their little island.
The sickness is going around Southern Louisiana, too.
So sorry you missed your time with your family. One summer my children and I had just gotten over a stomach virus. We travelled to see my family, and got everyone sick. Definitely learned to give it a few more days next time!

I absolutely feel sympathy for you with COVID! I had it a year ago, and it's miserable! Thank you for not contributing to the spread of the sickness to others by traveling - especially on an airplane. That shows how much you care about the well-being of others. You will get to Sweden! I actually had to cancel a Polar Bear Photography Expedition including a trip to Svalbard thanks to COVID! I appreciate the Polar bear, walrus, whales, and reindeer photos and news that you post. I lived in Alaska for 18 years: in Nome for 5 years which is the farthest north I've been. I loved this time of year! ...the smell of the tundra in Fall is glorious! When my friends in Nome post pictures I can still smell the air even though I've lived in Texas for 30+ years now. It's something one never loses.
