This is the home of a scammer in Sacramento, California, and the man inside is expecting a package delivery today of $15,000 in cash, and we’re about to knock on his door and confront him face to face. Not only are we going to confront him, but we’re gonna have $15,000 of cash hanging out of the package and are gonna see what he has to say for it. The cash is fake, but the scam is very real.
How did we get here? It’s all thanks to our brother Jaani in India. He's gone undercover as a pretend Amazon refund scammer. You’re about to hear a phone call between him and a scammer boss in India, a boss that runs his own scam call centers, and has multiple money mules all over the United States accepting cash payments from victims. We have tons of videos on our channel explaining this scam in detail, but it involves a fake Amazon representative convincing a victim that their account has been over refunded, forcing them to send large amounts of money to rectify it.
This money is sent to what’s called a money mule, whose job it is to collect this money, take a percentage, and launder the rest back to the boss overseas. The mule can be anybody. It can be your grandmother, who’s been manipulated into it thinking she’s doing the right thing, or it can be dangerous criminals who know exactly the kind of fraud they’re facilitating.
Jaani is pretending to be a scam boss. He’s on the phone with this real scam boss named Ankit. Ankit has instructed Jaani to have his victim send money to a man named Thomy in Sacramento. Jaani sends the info to us, we send a real package, overnight, so there’s a valid tracking number to show, and then we show up with our decoy package and confront the recipient face to face.
Ankit spends a great deal of time explaining to Jaani that he’s trustworthy and wants to do business long term. He has even gone as far as to send Jaani video recordings of previous packages being laundered.
This happens every day, and it’s sickening. The man we’re about to confront, Thomy, is a mule that Amit claims has been working for him for almost a decade. So we’ve got some questions for Thomy, so we’re heading up there right now to get answers.

The worst part is that no cop in India will do anything about it, places like Kolkata and Uttar Pradesh are the most corrupt ones. The goverment or the authorities are the worst here, even when someone reports such issues the cops are like "Foreigners steal from us everyday, let us do the same to them" completely ignoring the fact that these scammers are destroying elderly peoples lives

The reason for police inaction is very simple. These scam deals are raking in big money in foreign exchange and contributing towards India's GDP. Of course the cops get a cut from the sales that these scammers make, but the govt not putting pressure on the cops is because of the reason I just explained.

I understand there's much more behind the scenes, but just because you want a bit more views and exposed the scammer, think about the repercussions that man might have been through. The scammer, if he does have 3 or 4 cards, will just go to an ATM and get all the money out. This is fucking stupid, I'm sorry, I love you guys, you've made me so emotional in several videos, but this is just stupid and I'm angry, what a fucking joke.

There’s also an element of Stockholm syndrome at play in all this as well. Listen to the language Ankeet used. My brother, depressed etc. Totally designed to ensure kinship & elicit sympathy for his position. It’s sick and disgusting. They play on the simple fact that a lot of older people are less cynical, less technologically savvy & basically have kinder hearts. These people crush the life out of all their victims, including the middle man, without any compassion or second thought. I see these and often start out thinking cynically. But then I think about how rubbish my dad was with anything technical, how kind and trusting my grandparents were. It could so easily be one of them. Ok. Well, maybe not my dad. He was a copper for 40 years and always told me that if you are asked to pay out for something first, it’s probably not legit. I’m suspicious in nature because of him raising me to be wise to the world,. Thankfully. I get tonnes of UPS emails asking me to pay an excess fee blah blah. No one I’ve ever transacted with has been given my email. So that’s a neat trick. And I always click on to find the actual email it comes from. Usually an aol. Block them and they still keep coming. I’ve replied a few times asking where has the package come from. How did they get my email. Why aren’t they contacting me from the office system or during office hours???? Strangely I never get a reply, which is a let down. One day I hope for a fun exchange.
Anyway. From this darkness I wish you all light and love.
      🕯♥️

Sorry to hear that. I think there really needs to be very severe penalties for people convicted of scamming. Some people have and will continue to kill themselves because of this sort of thing. Just pure evil, how some individuals have no interest in another person apart from wanting to steal their money or identity or both. I often have scammers contacting me on WhatsApp, the "sha zhu pan" , Chinese "pig butchering" romance/investment scam. Apparently in some cities there are entire floors of office buildings and "managers" and people get paid a commission according to how much they can scam someone.

    • @oldmedstudent1750

So sorry to hear. I had my identity stolen as well, but luckily I had already signed up for credit monitoring so the second they opened 2 credit cards in my name, I was notified. I then called the banks immediately and had those cards cancelled. I then called the credit bureaus and told them to put fraud alerts on my credit report so that if anyone ever tries to open credit in my name, they need to call me immediately to verify that it's me applying for the credit. The banks closed down those 2 fraudulent cards and I haven't had any issues since then. You need to be proactive about it, because if you end up being reactive, it will be too late.

I would go with placing an extended fraud alert on file too, which can only be done after reporting the crime to the FTC. But by doing this the victim will get a free copy of their report immediately and again every 6 months that they should check carefully and dispute any existing or new entries they do not recognise. Additionally this will alert any bank doing a hard search on their file that they were recently a victim of identity theft and trigger enhanced identity checks if anyone attempts to apply for credit in their name. This will have the side effect of adding some extra hoops to jump through to apply for credit legitimately for up to 7 years but should make it harder for the scammers to trick banks into believing they are the victim. It also doesn't look particularly great to potential lenders unfortunately but then neither does having a bunch of notices of correction which isn't explained by for example a fraud alert or similar.

While in Singapore, the police arrested and investigated more than 7,000 scammers and money mules (aged between 16 and 71) last year. Some of them were believed to have rented out their bank accounts to scammers or assisted them by carrying out bank transfers and withdrawals. These are for offenses such as cheating, money laundering, or providing payment services without a license and those found guilty of money laundering can be jailed for up to 10 years, fined up to $500,000, or both. I am glad that the law enforcement and authority here take a serious stance on cases involving scams.

He wanted to just back away and escape the situation. This guy then says he lives with his brother and has bad credit, so maybe he is desperate to get money and decided to get into this to help his situation, and it was really a bad move.

It really makes me mad when the call center boss said that he doesn't like doing refund scams because "customers used to die." The boss want scams that he can use on the same customer over and over, and since many of their victims are older, they want to do scams that get them the most bang for the buck. That was not something I expected coming from him, even if he is a scammer. Just wow.

I am glad where their heart is in but this was a horrible thing they did to the old man! If they cared about the victim they would have made sure his accounts were closed out, credit frozen, and law enforcement contacted before they confronted the scammer. The guy said he has access to his accounts and opened up credit cards and other accounts in his name. instead of doing the right thing they just pushed to get a video of them saying F you to the scammer and then left and let him deal with the consequences. Trilogy Media screwed up big time here and need to help victims, not put them in more risk!

He can sound so much more convincing when speaking to the real scammer bosses and has the gift of getting the information he needs to help catch these guys. I am glad he got out of the scamming and is now working for you guys to do some great work in helping expose these awful scammers - well done to him and you quys for helping him get on the right side of things. I have only just this minute started viewing another of your great videos and I am already tearful.
Seeing the vulnerable old man being told / ordered what to do with the packing up of his own life savings is very heartbreaking, along with watching him walk off doubled over (obvious mobility issues) to do just what they told him to do, and like you say, they are laughing at him.
I have said this before, these shite's are sadistic, every one of them enjoys the pain they inflict on these elderly victims :-( The IRS scams sum them up as sadists because even when they know they are on a lost cause, they will carry on further by saying the Police Chief etc will be at your door in five minutes. Once they know they have "lost" there really is no point carrying on, they might as well just hang up, but their aim now is to cause further pain :-(
Back to viewing and I hope you continue your worthy cause for years to come.
    Love from the UK xx

So it doesn't give the scammer a chance to clean out the accounts and max out the credit cards. I'm outside looking in so I'm not being critical but just wondering about it. It seemed like they just wanted video of them saying F you to the scammer than left victim to deal with the consequences. Also why didn't they help him contact law enforcement? This was extremely sloppy work and from what he was saying probably endangered the victim even worse! There is a reason these victims get scammed and it's because they don't understand what to do and need someone who will help them.
