I wore a 12 inch for years when I was 13-18. 95% of the time I played 2B. Other times played SS and OF or anywhere else. Worked everywhere really. Also had a 11.75 inch for a bit at 2B at 17-18 years old.

Totally agree, I’m a 14 year old third basemen with a 11.5 2016 Jose Altuve model A2000 and I play shortstop and third, i know third basemen usually have a different glove but I don’t think it’s that important at my level
I played third with a little league glove in HS. It was awesome. Quick to the ball and filthy on the pick and in-between hop. But I believe that when you are good with the hands, the glove does not matter. But I do prefer smaller for middle infielders. Just quicker to the ball.
For anyone 9 or older --middle infield 11.25 - 11.75 (unless they like or want a really small glove then go with 11)...3rd base 11.50-12 ...anywhere in the outfield 12+
I’d definitely look into saving money for a 1st baseman glove. I got my first when I was 11 and I still use it in my junior year, it makes scooping, and everything in general feel much smoother.
Get something you can use at a ton of positions when your young and as you find which one you’re good at/like switch to whatever side I’ve is best for that. Kids don’t need multiple gloves to play, plus they can get pretty expensive for everyday people

I was a second baseman, wore a size 12.5 rawlings basket glove. Not because of any reason other than my hands were too big and fat to fit in other gloves.
I am a 12 year old 3rd base I use a 11,5 and a 11,75 it makes it easier for me with my a1000 to get quick and contrails 11,5 but my 44 is a 11,75 it makes it easier also to play outfield with the 11,75

Me too. I had an 11.75 inch glove. Used it every position except catching. And I never played first. It worked well in all situations

MLB infielders don’t need the extra help grabbing ground balls, but it does help to have a smaller glove so you can quickly transfer and throw!
I'm 38 and still use the same glove I got in middle school. Works great the more you break it in.

The only difference is a youth size and an adult size, it just fits your hand better

I'm a believer in using training mitts or pads. The more kids train w a pad, the more they should be able to field or control the ball
