Here's my review of making these rolls. They were fantastic! They fluffed up so pretty with a very delicate airy light center, with flaky buttery crust. They were perfect, the best I've ever had. You may turn me into a baker after all!! Woohoo! Gotta say, your instruction to resist the impulse to add more flour because of the stickiness was extremely helpful. Ha ha my little dog is camped out in the kitchen as I write this. He's hoping he will get another bite of roll. Thanks so much!!❤
That’s wonderful to hear! It is a pretty great recipe isn’t it? 👩🏼🍳🥐🤭 You’ve always had the talent for baking, just needed a little guidance to find your style. I thought you’d benefit from the sticky dough comment. I made it with you in mind, actually. 😁 Your little man now knows why my dogs 🐕 🐕 🐕 all camp in the kitchen when they smell bread baking. 😂 If you want more bread making videos just let me know and I’ll include more. I love to bake and eat bread. 🍞🥖🥨🥪🥯🫓😋
@@Jacksonsjob I wanted to add that, today I tried a left over crescent roll and it was almost as good as when it was just baked. I didn't reheat, just tried it right out of the storage bag. When I have tried that with store bought canned crescent rolls they are terrible the next day, hard as a rock. Anyway, love the rolls and will make this again and again, next time I'll try the Crescent Chicken recipe. yummmmm. Thanks again, Winston thanks you too! :)
What is it with those canned rolls and biscuits hardening like that? You could play baseball with the leftovers. 😳🥖⚾️🤣Let Winston have any you don’t finish by the morning. 🐕😁 Two-three days seems to be the tops for most fresh baked bread overall unless it is loaded with fat or acid to slow down the process of becoming stale. Will love to hear how they turn out in your casserole when you make it again.
I am racking my brain trying to remember the name of the program on PBS. It’s something like a cooking academy show. Very technical, detailed and professionally produced. Your presentations remind me so much of their show. I’m looking forward to your “blooper reel”.
Completely random, but I was around 8 or so that I remember us finally getting tv and where we were in the country, we only got a few channels with PBS being one of them. I grew up watching British sitcoms and wood working shows. So that’s a compliment to equate me to a show from them! 😬😁🤭 I should post a blooper reel. Most of the time, something amiss is happening. 👩🏼🍳🤦🏻♀️🤞🏻🤷♀️🤪
@@Jacksonsjob I can see it now, the pooches chilling around a round table hashing out the details for the next presentations. While sipping cognac and smoking cigars... ...my colourful imagination inspired from a childhood of Bugs Bunny and Walt Disney.
Those sweet little pups always make me smile! Want a laugh? Well, I am too old to not have known why you call them crescent rolls...duh, make them curve. I always just made mine straight.🤣🤣 the canned version that is. Thank you so much for this, my husband will love this! (if I can make them right, haha)
I do believe my dogs are bread 🥖lovers. They really get excited over all bread. Want to laugh more? I didn’t even realize why they called them crescent rolls until I was making them and went “oh look they are moon 🌙 shaped like a crescent!” I looked it up and sure enough! And then I found out 🥐 croissant is French for “crescent shaped pastry” so…🤣🤣🤣 You totally can do this. I have faith in you. 👩🏼🍳🤞🏻😁
So, Ran was eating one of these rolls the other day (we love them by the way) and he took a bite, stared at the roll for a minute then said, "Do you remember those pigs in a blanket that they used to make us in school? I loved those things." Guess what I'm going to try making. 😆 Got to wait until he goes to the store again as weenies aren't something I keep on hand...
🤣🤣🤣 So funny! My husband asked the same exact thing the first time I made them. We actually bought them but haven’t tried it yet. I think what you may want to do is start checking them around 13ish minutes since the dough will be “thinner” as it will be wrapped around the meat and not more dough. If you try it out, let me know how it turns out. Glad you like them! I think we ate like 700 of these now. 🤣🤭🥐😋👩🏼🍳
@Jacksonsjob 🤣🤣 you are a star and you never let us down. Yes please don't mix camera and oil lol. Really looking forward to the video.. take all the time you need x
@@Afy.B I actually meant to have another video up by now (it's a no-bake cheesecake) but I got hit with a massive several day migraine and am just now able to look at computers/phones for more than a few moments. It did give me plenty of time to think about donuts and how to get this video filmed soon. 🥯🥯🥯Hope you are well!
Last night I was baking up a batch of bread and I try not to use any grease or shortening to grease my baking pans or baking dishes. So I was folding up some parchment paper, yeah right, actually trying to fold parchment paper that came out all crumpled! Maybe you could do a video at some point on the actual techniques for folding it properly. Like do you use an iron?
I'd be glad to put it on my list. I'm actually working on a viewer request video for the following week and love helping when I can. Tell me what you mean by folding it properly, though. What were you trying to do exactly? Line the bottom, sides, etc. And what type of pan? Loaf, sheet?
@@Jacksonsjob I use the heavy ceramic loaf pans. I was trying to cut the four corners that are slightly curved to fit. Unlike the metal pans that can be stacked. These buggers kept the parchment popping a upwards! Aghhh. The frustration was well worth it. Local stores had tomatoes on special for $.89 a pound. So tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches toasted in the pan… Ohhhhh!
@@nzs316 Oh yeah, ceramic and stainless steel pans are both a PITA to line and do pat-a-crusts in them. Everything just slides around and frustrates you! You could try what I have done in the past and get the pan a little damp first to help it "stick" in place.
@@Jacksonsjob I will try that tomorrow. Solutions can be so simple when you ask the right person. Another great mystery solved. When I was a boy maybe 5 or 6 years old, I used to think that music that was played on the radio was being played live. I couldn’t understand how they could jump from station to station to play the music! Sometimes the same song was playing two stations exactly at the same time. It was a complete mystery to me and my sisters took great enjoyment in playing along with that thought process. Another way my sister would choose to traumatize me was since I have a blue and a green eye. She would call me the blue and green eyed monster and tell people that I had an operation when I was a kid and they could only find a replacement blue but not a green eye.
You can also try flipping the pan upside down and molding the parchment paper to the exterior to get a good fit. I do that often with curved edges. I still get amazed by radio waves so I understand that way of thinking. Siblings can be so mean sometimes! But that is so awesome you have different colored eyes. I bet it’s lovely to look at them.

Hi Afy, I definitely can. I will put it on my to do list. Might have to get my husband to help with that one due to this finicky arm. 👩🏼🍳🍩
@Jacksonsjob please don't over do it whenever you are ready.. until then I'm enjoying all your videos x
