    General Recipe Tips:
✔ You can bake this without a water bath. Preheat oven to 350F (180C.) Bake 50 - 60 minutes or until center reaches 160F (71C) and just slightly wobbles when moved. Cool at room temperature before moving to the fridge.
✔ If using a springform pan, wrap the outside of the pan with two layers of heavy duty aluminum foil to prevent water seepage.
✔ Any type of Oreo cookie can be used but double stuff is not recommended as it will ruin the texture of the cheesecake by adding too much fat.
✔ Margarine can be used instead of butter in most pie dough recipes. Be sure you are using margarine with at least 80% fat content and not vegetable oil spread.
✔ Baking cheesecake 180°F (82°C) and higher can cause the eggs to curdle and over bake. Try to aim for the center to reach no higher than 175°F (79°C.)
✔ This is for a 6” (15cm) Oreo cheesecake. To make a 9” Oreo cheesecake, increase the ingredients by 1.5 times and bake and additional 5 - 10 minutes or until center reaches 160°F (71°C.)
✔ Recipes were created by weighing ingredients. The recipe can be subject to change. Be sure to check the website for any alterations.
    Happy Baking!

@@Jacksonsjob you are too modest🤗I could never make macarons like you and I love to listen to you about the science of baking. Oh I can make your cinnamon braided buns again ❤❤❤the cooler weather!!

Oooh. Now I want to make those braided rolls! You totally have made some fabulous desserts and you cook so much I could never attempt. Not ashamed to admit I’m not much into cooking. I enjoy baking more as my arm and cooking is still at odds. I flipped eggs out of the pan onto the stovetop the other day. Okay. It was last night. 😂

So glad you're back.😊This is a beautiful cheesecake for sure! You always make everything look so easy, If I had a camera set up in my kitchen it would be a comedy, I can do some of the darndest things.

Did you miss the point where I said I dropped my camera and now have a nice fuzzy part in the center? I broke a mixer, a camera, glasses and tossed eggs onto the stove and flipped chicken on the floor. If you want to feel any better, go watch the earliest of videos. I was dropping stuff all over the place. This one went pretty well. 🤣🤣🤣

@@Jacksonsjob I knew about it all but the chicken. I just thought I shouldn't mention it. Still, you do present well, if you didn't tell us these things we'd not know. It is though perhaps because you share your struggles that we/I dare to try. What's the worst that can happen? NO!! Don't tell me! lol

🤣🤣🤣 I make a lot of the mistakes so you’ll be more successful right off the bat. 🤣🤣🤣 When I was too immobile to do anything, I watched a lot of baking shows and it was frustrating to see how easy they made everything look and had all this fancy equipment that I could never afford.
When the speech and physical therapist said to find a hobby to get moving and talking, I decided to pretend to having a baking show that showed bloopers. 😬😆😁
The website was actually intended to document Jackson’s Job as a service dog, but the online community can be...😳 So I used the website to keep track of recipes instead. Never imagined anyone would even watch or read any of them. 😂😂😂😂
Funniest complaint I ever got was addressed to Jackson and complaining about my presentation showing my pets in the background. They had no idea he’s one of the dogs. 🤪🤣😂
What is wonderful though is I have been blessed by making great friends like you. 🥰💕

This looks good. I don't eat Oreo's very much but I would like this. It was interesting watching you make this cake. Sure was a lot of work. I'm sorry to hear you broke your video camera. I hope it's repairable. I have just started to do more cooking since the weather has started to cool off a little. I've had enough of those 90 and 100 degree days. I been dealing with some eye problems for the last few weeks so I have been limiting my time looking at computer screens. I saw your new post and wanted to see what you were making. Thanks for another great video and I hope you're doing well. It's good to see your posts again. Take care.

I hope you get your eyes straightened out! Good idea limiting computer time. I feel honored you watched the video especially since you are not like me and not a huge fan of Oreos. 💕🥰❤️ The camera is a point and shot little thing and was bought used years ago. I’m not sure it’s able to be repaired as the lens is built in. I had some videos recorded prior to dropping it so I’m good for a while. 🤣 Glad the weather is cooling! It’s been a hot 🥵 summer. Take care of those eyes. 👀👀👀

    The cheesecake looks delicious 😋
Guess what I made while you were gone...pigs in a blanket! He was right on that one, that simple roll dough was perfect. I weighed my dough before dividing it into eight pieces. Each piece came to be 2.5 ounces (approximately). They turned out great. The only thing that I will do differently is make the dough balls, 2 ounces each and make a couple of rolls with any left over dough. Not that there was anything wrong with the 2.5 ounce but the bread to meat ratio was better with the ones that had a thinner "blanket". You should have seen his smile, he said to tell you "the bread in our house has been kicked up several notches since I've met you!" 🤣🤣 we are greatly appreciative for you in this house.❤

You finally made some pigs in a blanket!Tell the other half thank you for the wonderful compliment. That dough recipe will make pretty much all the soft bread recipes you can think of without a lot of fuss. I have one for leaner style bread as well I need to post up. Thinks like bagels and bread sticks.

I just got back from the country and was about as off grid as can be. Even went "Green Acres" climbing on top of the camper to try to get a signal...but, so pleased that when I got back on Saturday that you had a new upload.
While I was there I was wondering if you had some "backwoods" recipes. Maybe some traditional Bannock or Dutch oven bread.
I hung out with Domo for a while and brought him a German sausage and Mac and Cheese. Kinda rough to not have him around to degrease my cast iron frying pan!

    • @Jacksonsjob
      @Jacksonsjob  ปีที่แล้ว

I do have some "backwoods" recipes, but they are more mountain and holler backwoods and heavily Irish influenced. Most of the breads are corn, pork or apple based. I'm actually working on an apples to oranges muffin/cake type bread that is from this area. I am also trying to think of the youtube channel you'd really like. She's a Scottish woman and has a lot of the recipes you've spoken of in the past and now. I'll see if I can remember her name.
It's so lovely you remember Domo in such high regard. Hopefully, one day your paths will cross again.

As soon as I posted, I remembered the channel. It's @WhatsForTea143K and I think you'll really like her. She's got a lovely, pleasant air about her and posts a lot of traditional recipes. Just a wonderful video to watch even if you don't make the food. She's very soothing to the soul.☺

@@Jacksonsjob The “holler” recipes would be wonderful as a, “back to our roots” series as we munch on your cheesecake recipes.
I’m sure the knockwurst style German sausage, split open on the side from the boiling water was most appreciated. Even the KD which I usually don’t buy, with it all creamy with loads of butter, was also appreciated.
Even gone he’s still here, just in a different form.
He was with us as we were sailing back from Lake Huron on the three occasions in the cloud formations. Plus, he came to my thoughts this summer when a lot of the family was in the country very near and dear to the island where he’s buried so he was running around in the Bracken having a great time, happy that people were there.
I’m heading back in a couple of weeks for the onset of the hunting season. I go there to hunt the hunters and chase them off the islands.
He’ll be keeping me company and I’ll make a big pork roast to keep us warm.
