no one tell the OP of this comment but uh, the TF2 dev team is constantly changing, i don't get why people think its only 2 people, all of valve's dev teams have constantly changing numbers.
I'm impressed and glad that you can accept random crits being a checkmarkable Feature. YES INDEED (Even though removing crits would make the ubersaw WAAAY more OP than what it is)
@mehdi Haddou I mean that's good and all but, from my experience with L4D2's Last Stand update, it was good, but not great. The map on it's own is great, it's just full of fake difficulty with huge hoards of zombies that spawn just right outside of your vision. I just want more people set towards Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. Community is nice and all but sometimes there needs to be someone in control to give the players what they NEED, rather than what they want.
9 years in development + all those years of updates... i cant imagine how burned out they are. Maybe one day a younger team at valve will take up the reigns
banana is good for a roamer heavy (if such a thing exists) or for situations where you don't have a pocket medic or a dispenser to hold down. But for keeping your medic alive, it's pretty bad. It might save him from afterburn, but 1 sticky or 1 direct hit rocket will end him.
@@cfdeers well i used the banana full time since its release even with a pocket medic . it works pretty well cause we cant forget the fact that medic have self heal. As a medic myself i rather have healing more oftenly that more healing via burst
@@legenddairy0 ehh self healing only maxes out at 3 per second while healing a target so let's do the numbers. Banana recharges every 10 seconds Sandvich recharges every 30 seconds Banana and Sandvich heals 37 and 75 health, respectively to a medic. So over the course of a minute, that's 222 and 150 health restored over a minute, so the banana would be the obvious choice, right? In a purely theoretical sense where the medic takes no damage, yeah. But in a fight, lets say the medic has an arbitrary 10 health. With a banana heal, the medic at best can take a mid range scattergun shot, a rockets splash damage, most shotgun blasts at medium range as well, and sometimes a single sticky on the ground. Compared to if they were healed by Sandvich, they can survive a scattergun meatshot 8 times out of 10 in close combat, can survive a direct hit rocket from midrange (assuming the soldier isn't bombing the medic), can survive almost any shotgun shot once, can maybe take 2 stickes, and now it takes 2 bodyshots for a sniper to kill a med instead of just one. Burst healing is extremely important to keeping a team alive. There's a reason medics still heal a teammate with a crossbow within the range of their medigun. It's a medium health pack, near instantly. Assuming crit heals aren't in effect since they've been in a battle, that's equivalent to about 3 seconds of heals from the medigun. Let's say you're on Dustbowl part 3 on last, pushing to take the final control point. You're on the bridge and being focus fired by a soldier who can't hit directs. Would you prefer 75 healing right away? Or 37 healing and only being able to tank 1 splash damage rocket. With a banana, you're basically dead. With a sandvich, you still have a little chance to survive and keep your heavy healed up. tl:dr, heals over time with the banana are quite frankly the worst option for healing a medic. While your med will always have a small health pack for whenever they get damaged, basically any class can 1 shot the medic with a bit of aim. Therefore, Sandvich is better for keeping your med alive a few seconds longer, since an entire battle can take place in that timeframe.
All I want is for Valve to be human. All I want is for Valve to understand how much TF2 means to us. All I want is for Valve to not be so focused on what makes the biggest ammount of money. But it's so unlikely that it will change. TF2 is like a campfire. At this point its just the hot coal left. Still burning, but ever so colder and slower. A few more years and even the most stubborn of its community will give up and the game will die, leaving empty skial and trade servers, as a monolith to what was once the greatest and most influential game of the 2000s. When that day comes, I will cry. TF2 has given me so much.
I agree with you in a lot of things but I do have to commend Valve for making a game that survived all this time with a healthy community. The community is not as big as it used to be but I can't remember any major toxicity in this game. The Devs loved this game as much as we (the community) do, sadly other games like csgo and Dota where more interesting after a while. I can't blame them for leaving TF2, the code for the game is a mess and since as an employee at valve you can work on any project you want it's normal that they don't want to work on TF2, when you are older and have grandchildren do you want to tell them "I worked on this revolutionary videogame technology known as VR" or do you want to say "I worked on a 11 year old game and spent my time finding bugs and cleaning up code". They should make dev streams where they let us know what they are up to and get feedback from the community but in my opinion the team that decided to remain on the TFTeam deserve a lot of respect for seeing that someone has to work on this game and are willing to support this game for all this time. I don't want you to think that I hate TF2 or anything, in fact it's one of my favourite games of all time and I'd love to see more support for the game, all I'm saying is that I can understand why Valve isn't giving it the attention it deserves.
Since its premiere on Nickelodeon in 1991, Rugrats has become the highest rated show on television for kids between the ages of 2 and 11. In the second theatrical movie, the Rugrats gang heads to Paris when Stu Pickles has to go to EuroReptarland to fix the mechanical dinosaur he invented. The city of romance has its effect on the adults, especially on Chas Finster who starts dating again. His son, Chuckie, is excited about this development, because he wishes he had a new mom. Soon, Chas has not just one, but two women vying for his affections: the bombastic director of the park, Coco LaBouche, and her kind assistant, Kira Watanabe. Coco only wants to marry Chas for selfish reasons and uses her power and influence to trick him into a proposal. Kira has nobler intentions, but finds it hard to get out of Coco’s shadow. positive elements: The qualities of a good mom are held in high regard. In the beginning of the movie Chas looks at photos of Chuckie’s mom (who passed away) and says to his son, "Your mom was an amazing woman. But she’s in heaven looking down on us right now." A song about motherhood encourages moms to "smile at, talk nice to, tuck in, tell stories to and love" their children. The other children encourage Chuckie on his quest for a mom saying, "You never know until you try." And Chuckie overcomes his fear to save the day. Plus, true love wins out, and it’s obvious these families love each other. spiritual content: Only a couple of references to loved ones going to heaven. nudity and sexual content: A woman’s torn wedding dress reveals her underwear (the kids joke about seeing her "undies"). A Japanese restaurant features waiters dressed in traditional Sumo garb. violent content: Angelica pretends to be the "Godfather" (she snuck in and saw a little of the violent movie that her parents were watching) and talks about "twisting heads and pulling hair." A giant robot chase through Paris produces a great deal of destruction. Chuckie has a scary dream with black, ghoulish-looking characters that he fights with martial arts. crude or profane language: Just like on the television show, gross humor and Angelica’s crude mouth are featured regularly. She calls the other children "dumb babies" numerous times. Indeed, almost everything out of her mouth is rude. The slang term "jeez" is used once. drug and alcohol content: None. other negative elements: The children are allowed to run wild. They trash their hotel room, mess up an office, turn a wedding reception into a food fight and, while controlling their giant robot, destroy whole neighborhoods in Paris. When someone says, "Give it some gas," a baby passes gas. And children eat lots of disgusting food. The dog even urinates on the Eiffel Tower. conclusion: If parents are wanting more of what they see on the Rugrats TV show (plenty of potty humor, disrespectful language and zero discipline), then this movie lives up to expectations. Never is a child scolded for making a mess or reprimanded for being rude (of course, some of this is due to the fact that many of the characters aren’t old enough to talk and only communicate with each other). The movie is cleverly written-it actually has the ability to hold adults’ attention for longer than three minutes-but it’s not funny that chaos is the norm and children get to do whatever they want whenever they want. Neither is it appropriate for a children’s film to tip its hat to such R-rated flicks as The Godfather and A Few Good Men. These little rugrats wipe boogers on people, throw up and put food in dirty diapers. Is that what you want your children to learn on their next trip to the theater?
Considering the fact they haven’t even contacted the community to make themed cosmetics, like for Jungle Inferno, I think we should be relieved if it even is released this year. But maybe they will pull a Gun Mettle and release the update without anyone expecting it, an unlikely hope but I can still dream.
Better answer communication. Id be fine with the amount of updates we get if it was not for the radio silence. Is the heavy update coming or not please I need to know
Take the game as you see it. I started just after the Love and War (bread update) and missed that silliness. The game draws me in, and updates happen afterwards. I missed most of the cinematics and new content (aside from EotL, but...y'know) but then impactful patches happened later, when I was experienced to know what the hell they meant. Who knows what the future holds? (Please hold Valve suddenly turning into good parents)
guys this video was made when we thought there might be a possibility of a 2018 October update like jungle inferno. funke still had hope. We now know that it was for naught.
One thing that I think is long overdue and should have been done way before Valve even thought about adding competitive. A major update, no hats, no new weapons, no balance changes. Just a big package of performance inhancing fixes, quality of life changes (such as new default settings) and streamlining of the code. Everytime valve adds something new to the game, another unrelated thing breaks. I think that makes it evident that TF2 can't be properly updated for anything competitive or non-competitive. As such, we need an update that "cleans up" tf2 into a state that can be worked with.
This is going to be a pretty massive project for an already overworked team, not to mention that it won’t really bring any profit so Valve won’t be big on the idea. Pushing a minor content update with many, but definitely not all problems fixed will likely be the only thing close to this.
Bobby Ferg I know, I know. Here's the thing: Valve obvoiusly want to push TF2 into a more competitive direction as we could see in MyM and JI. I am going to say that that will be an impossible task. A game can't be competitive if it breaks everytime the devs touch the code. Also, if they'd streamline the code, it would be easier to update the game in the future and thus less frustrating for the devs to work with. So it's in their best intend to do this, imo.
I would imagine that would take a lot of effort, after all hardware has changed a lot from when tf2 was made to now, might even be easier to port it to source 2 at that rate, but this is only speculation and it would be nice if the tf team would let the community know that state of the code and how the current engine is handling it. I would love to see this as an update though and would say this is more needed then most things at the moment.
I absolutely agree that it would require a massive amount of effort, resources and patience and I would not blame Valve for asking the community or another company for help. It is badly needed however. A broken, spaghetti-coded game with massive performance issues and no good tutorial to ease new players into the experience will have a tough time going forward, what ever that direction would be.
One weird thing that I want is ads about tf2, small ones but some like the ones of OW, they weren't spammy and annoying like the ones of LOL but they said 'Hey we got a game and it has cute girls in it" I want the same with tf2 with ads saying "Hey we got manly man doing manly things in Australia over a gravel pit!" tf2 hardly gets mentioned outside specific circles, I want it to be known more, more people find out about tf2, more players, Valve noticing an increase in the speed of the gold-coins fountain in their headquarters, they see that a lot of people are joining the game, developers may get to work on Tf2 cuz it brings cash, ???, profit for us? Idk man, I just want this game to improve and grow
Ikr I never knew about TF2 until my brother showed me meet the medic all those years ago, and let me just say I probably wouldn't have ever played it if I hadn't found it by chance like that. if my bro didn't have a 10-month TF2 phase I never would've found this game and that makes me sad
I would like to note that the ROBLOX version of TF2, Typical Colors 2, has damage-clumping and nonrandomized bullet spread, on all servers. Literally the Roblox variant of Valve is better at this than actual Valve at this point. This is insane.
Hey imagine if he knew that three years later there would still be no updates, a two person dev team, and that botting has gotten so bad that casual is effectively unplayable
Yeah its good... but hes talking about in terms of competitive, with the banana you cant save your medic from large bursts of damage although you probably do more healing overtime
Honestly the Dalokoh's Bar is way too underrated: eat it before the fight, you get +50 max health, more possible overheal, and by the time you're done fighting a wave of enemies the cooldown is off and you can eat it again. Even if it doesn't heal you fully you'll be pretty close to 300 because of the extra max health, and if you have a medic healing you this gets you up to a ridiculous max health when overhealed.
Honestly, they should do the same as the Warframe Devs. Make dev streams once in a while and show us what they are working on and getting feedback from the community.
The saddest part is that this video is that it is still up to date, after 4 fuccen years, yeah, the great summer update was anounced, and then shrinked to a holiday sized uodate, + if im not mistaken valve is still radio silent. I know that they are working on cs2 but it still feels that tf2, one of the greatest games of all times (in my opinion) is left out. I feel like the update was anounced just to hype people up so that they don't feel ignored. Anyways, thanks for this video and your content overall, have a nice day/night or whatever you got there :D
Here we are in 2020 with no real content since like what Jungle Inferno? Honestly at this point I actually hope they're making like TF3 or something that actually fixes the game while keeping all of its core mechanics, Valve actually started making decent games again with Half Life: Alyx so who knows, I'm gonna keep hoping they do something to save this game
Also corporate politics will make tf3 impossible and any further updates nearly impossible also Plus there is 1 full time member of the tf team and a half dozen part time members
3 years since Blue Moon, I can only assume that TF3 is in the works because there’s no good reason why not one developer has been given permission to slap together shit the community has already made for updates. Even more puzzling is how come they haven’t handed the game over to another development team outside Valve, like CSGO. My best guess is that they’re done doing stuff for TF2 in favor of TF3, but those leaks have shown little evidence of such when it predicted HL3 and L4D3
Some things I would love to be see implemented into TF2 just so it makes the game more fun and better as a whole (which to be honest, I don’t think Valve could implement all these ideas probably due to limitations on the Source Engine) are: 1. Make it so you receive temporary Uber for a few seconds after spawning to prevent spawn camping in which the duration of Uber will depend on the situation of the match (which can be enabled or disabled using console commands on Community servers). 2. Make Enemy Spies who are disguised as your teammates not have an outline upon respawning. 3. Make it so you can cast a vote to turn on all talk in voice chat which both teams can vote for at once. 4. Remove random bullet spread and of course, *remove random crits* (just so my Frontier Justice Revenge Crits don’t do 18 damage up close). 5. Make casting a vote to kick someone shows a mini screen of what the player who is being kicked is seeing making it easier to determine whether to kick the player or not. 6. Make the In-game chat has a cooldown for people who type in chat at a rapid rate and won’t be able to type in chat for a period of time depending on how much they type. 7. Add Arena and Beta Maps into to Casual Mode. 8. Add a timer to Capture the Flag (Please for the love of god, add this!) 9. Make picking up the Intelligence not reset the timer. 10. Add the remaining classes that were missing in Training Mode (like you said). 11. Add Training Contracts that only Free To Play Players can take part in. 12. Add a Music Player on the Main Menu where you can cycle through, pause, skip and repeat all the tracks in TF2. 13. Make it so you can now watch, listen and interact to TF2 Twitch streams while playing without opening any browsers. 14. Polish up the Community Server Browser to make it easier to navigate and find Community Servers to play on. 15. Add a 4th Cosmetic Slot in the Loadout Screen (why haven’t Valve done this when there are so many cosmetics?!) 16. Make it so you now receive Blood Money when completing a Casual or Competitive Match. The amount of Blood Money received depends on how well you perform from how many kills you got, how many points you achieved and how many objectives you captured and defended etc. You’ll receive half the amount Blood Money when losing a Casual Match. You’ll receive the same amount of Blood Money when losing a Competitive Match as would winning a Casual Match and 5 times more Blood Money if you win a Competitive Match. 17. Blood Money can now be used to buy items in the Mann Co. Store. 18. Make Competitive Matching have a lobby system where you can form a team and fight other teams in Competitive 6v6 matches or Highlander (9v9) matches. You can set your own rules if you’re the leader of the Competitive Server like picking which map you want to play on, set how many wins there should be and how long the timer should be. 19. Make Competitive Matchmaking have class limits of a maximum of 2 players per class (a full team of Heavies proves why). 20. Add Team Tips on the class selection screen to show how component your team is like for example, if there are too many Snipers or Spies on your team or there are no Medics on your team like how it functions in Overwatch. 21. Make it so if someone has left a Competitive Match during the pre-game round, it will find another player to fill in that spot instead of killing the match. 22. Make it so if someone has left a Competitive Match during a match, then the team that had the player disconnect will not have any points deduced upon losing, but they’ll receive double the points per disconnected player if they win. 23. Make the assists from the Dueling Mini-Game not count towards your Duel Points. 24. Make any Action Item or special cosmetic that has been previously deleted or gifted will come back when you complete a specific achievement again or specific event comes along again e.g. TF Birthday Noise Maker and Ghastly Gibus. 25. Remove the Holiday Restrictions on Halloween Cosmetics. Haunted Quality Halloween Cosmetics will give off a special “unusual” effect during Halloween and Full Moon Events. 26. Make Snipers be able to use Jarate in Medieval Mode. 27. Bring back Replays so it’s now easier and faster to catch, save, edit and upload replays onto TH-cam than previously that are now available on all Casual Mode, Competitive Matchmaking, Mann vs Machine and Community Servers. 28. Add an option in Advanced Options to move the Stock HUD to your desired location and able to change the size and boarders of the HUD to your liking for example, putting the Ubercharge meter at the middle instead of the bottom right.
Reply to Number 5: YES! THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDED. It's so goddamn hard to tell if someone is idle when you're not in spawn. I've thought about the same idea.
To say this poetically, TF2 is a beautiful cow with wings, that wants nothing more than to fly freely in the skies as the best thing to ever exist, but was milked half to death and is bound to the ground by a huge metal ball with the word "VALVE" engraved on it.
Have tr_walkway come with TF2 already in the files when downloading the game and make it a third selection in Training Mode. It'll be up to washipato to make the agreement if Valve asks.
Or add more mapps in offline practice fix some bugs and glitches there training mode add the current mechanics add the other classses and let them choose the current wepons we have and sure add tr_walkway just make it more simple for new players And maybe add more stuff to it for practice's it could be cool
Imagine tutorial campain with levels designed to show pros and cons of classes and specific weapons. For example a level where you play as a spy and go throu an area with pyros spinning around and standing still, your goal would be to dogde flames while invisible using the cloak and dagger and the le'tranger, to finish you have to go to a specific area.
Its January 2024 and this video is being cited as relevant, particularly the Valve/Community cycle due to Valve's fumbling of TF2 and public perception of their actions, from the Item servers dying for 48+ hours to (understandably) DMCA'ing the TF2 Source 2 fan project to just the bots having gotten worse during Smissmas '23. I love TF2 and I miss it.
If I could just add to this real quick: More mvm maps and more upgrades for weapons to make alternate playstyles viable (combat medic, demoknight, trolldier, fat scout, etc.) These would make mvm so much more fun!
They just need to have new developers FROM the community and a beta system to make the community reacts to the changes. After a year, it'll fix everything! (maybe)
Saltiest French Salt you’re assuming valve would actually shell out the money to hire staff at all. When Uncle Dane visited Valve HQ, he posed question of why they don’t hire more people was (devs/coders specifically), and the answer was Valve simply won’t. If one valve development team garners support or gets new employees, all the rest “expect the same thing,” and Valve doesn’t want to sacrifice that effort or money.
Part of what the TF team struggle with is that they have LITERALLY 4 PROGRAMMERS! Hell it may even be 3 I can't remember! Uncle Dane did a video wayyy back discussing his visit to Valve and meeting the team, and they are VERY aware of all the issues the community have and do keep an ear to the ground, but just...radio silence...It's a shame because obviously the devs care, but the can only do so much and have little time to do everything, and so it's like "We desperately need to fix all the issues that we've had for years, but also let's put out a new update of contracts and also hey Insomnia guys that's a good event ya like that?" I think if the game was outsourced to a bigger team for the main continued development, maybe through the current TF team on it too right now if it's possible to help, just, EVERYTHING could be easily fixed. I've really moved to Overwatch at this point but I do desperately want to keep playing TF2 if only it was back in business as a bigger better game again; Overwatch has its issues, the stubbornness of Blizzard and their baffling balancing decisions (the fucking disaster of a Mercy rework is case and point) that's unhealthy for the game, their now predictability of new content- Summer Games, Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Archives, Anniversary now going on for 3 years. But Overwatch has fixed many issues and the devs know its problems; you've got LFG for comp to help improve matches drastically, though the events are the same, they try their damned hardest to bring a lot of new stuff like a stupid number of great skins for all the heroes or PvE content like with the Archives events. This is not me just saying Overwatch is better; it's a VERY different game, though similar in a "class-based shooter" and similar game modes, the core aim of Overwatch is the counterplay of team compositions and the nuances of the meta, TF2 has INFINITE skill ceiling on LITERALLY EVERY HERO (yes even Pyro)! And it's a shame to see it fall to the wayside to the titan of money that is Blizzard when, even though 11 years old at this point, it can still do a lot more and be popular! Maybe money will make Valve value it again, but I'm doubtful even then; the game just needs to be taken away from Valve's internal fucking mess, the dev team currently there is doing ok with their limited numbers, but honestly it's fucking ridiculous to let what we have now be the standard bullshit the TF2 community must put up with.
Dude. Everything listed in the video can be coded in a good 6 hours by one programmer. Plus a few days to debug that and that the TF team has not 1, but 3 programmers. Grow the fuck up. Source: I'm a programmer.
undefinedVoid oh right lol my bad. I was kind of thinking “yeah actually some things probably aren’t too difficult to do” but I felt that the point was worth standing. I think I may have overthought the issues, but at the very least the lack of programmers explains the slow churn for content, but if that stuff is so easy it confuses me why the TF team don’t just get on and do it
Pandinho :3 it’d be a good example that the community is basically running the game at this point, hell gives a good case to hand off the development to actual community members who know wtf they’re doing. Actually showing the coding could be done would at the very least be embarrassing for valve
Some of the biggest problems like the fucked up default game settings can be changed in literal MINUTES by just changing some numbers in a text file and saving it - like
Ohimeni94 you can tell he’s an old ass one piece fan too, since he mimicked the way the old fansubbers used to creatively subtitle everyone’s attacks with little animations
"What does TF2 need" A working security system. Like seriously, go to russian servers, you will know what im talking about. I just straight up leave the match whenever i hear sniper saying "Good shot mate/Fine shot mate" three times in a row.
and then in chat you see: "jews jews jews jews jews" plastered around, you can't see anything in chat from real users, the bot has initiated a votekick onto you, and everyone in the server including real players are voting yes without paying attention
Also, the second banana is, in some scenarios, the Second Banana is better than the sandvich. It allows faster recharge, so you can keep on getting ready for a fight
Personally I think the second banana is good for games where you don't have a med, so you can sort of act as a second health option for people since the banana recharges so fast. But in every other scenario, the sandwich is typically better.
I'd argue that unless you have a reliable pocket medic, its almost always better than the sandvich. When you use it, you're usually not too far below half health, so it still usually gets you to full health or close to it.
I'd say that even for a roaming style, if you're not near your team at all, the sandwich is still better. It really heals a lot more than the banana and if you're not around your team, you can replenish it just as quickly with any health packs, and there's usually always one close by. Of course, I don't play as much roamer heavy, so I could be wrong. I've played with both banana and sandwich, and in general I find myself defaulting to the sandwich, especially if I'm planning on using it with myself or with a medic. If you're very team oriented and don't have a med, then the banana makes a little more sense to use due to its extremely quick recharge so you can heal teammates as well as yourself. Otherwise I've never really encountered a situation where I needed the sandwich to recharge faster.
you know what would help this game a lot? ADVERTISEMENT! valve needs people to know about this game, not the already playing community like hell, they dont even have to pay to put their games on steam's front page and still they dont because somehow they think the community will play this game forever, with old players getting tired and new players frustrated this isnt their annual COD game and leaving after shooting someone with the rocket jumper valve has limitless resources due to their small size as a company and large income from steam, and what exactly do they do with all this money? I would really like to know
The only way I can think to incentivise comp whilst not providing material rewards as motivations is to simply make comp players seem cool. Idk, maybe Valve could invest in the eSports side of things and promote the top players to make people more inspired to climb the ranks, kinda like how countries use propaganda to recruit troops (except in this case they don't get murdered. Or maybe they do if eSports gets that famous, idk). 1:55 And yes, Rugrats in Paris is the best movie.
TF2 was just announced to be "on hold" a few days ago. That's fine... They're gonna come back eventually... I can go in and spend an hour on Hightower and just have fun. I go into Valves other multiplayer titles, and I'm swiftly reminded that I'm not having fun, and go back to Hightower. I need to diversify my maps, but I generally just have a bad experience in objective based modes that incentivise teamplay (like, I joke about having a 30% win/loss ratio because that's what it feels like).
Comrade Matthew The tooth pick can be broken down. It is very small. The wrapper is around the sandwhich. Breaking it would be hard if you don’t want to break the sandwich. C
TF2 just needs to show the community there working on actually doing shit personally. The game has started to kinda make me get bored because im starting to feel like Valve just keeps adding hats to the game and calling it an "update". I feel like theres not gone be more cool awesome shit like back in 2010 when they started putting out ester eggs of MvM and in 2012 actually releasing it and everyone going crazy, and when they did the whole killer contract and shit.
@@kAiLoNg1 but, since you can only obtain the new pyro weapons in the Pyroland Contracts (Unless from a random drop which is unlikely to happen but possible) EVERYONE PLAYED PYRO.
the last big update that did this was jungle inferno, at least for me. me and my friends were talking about it 24/7. theorizing of what could come, what new maps what new things! that was 2017! it feels like yesterday!
As a youtuber, avoid disappearing for 4 months and coming back without notice. You can build your relevancy by consistently creating content. That is great I laughed so hard lol
Watching this 2 almost 3 years after the release of this video and once I'm actually old enough to have a chance to get a job working for valve (if I decide to do so) I so want to become a developer for this beautiful game
I'd like to see a MvM spy update. It's a really unpopular choice and whenever tanks are the main problem, he can only hope that there's other enemies around that he can handle. How about making tanks sappable so they become slower (or move backwards temporarily), can't deploy the bomb, or take minicrits (making it a replacement for buff banner soldiers). Right now, you MUST know a very specific timing for how many stabs you can get in before the bots turn around in a blink and insta-kill you. The DR is the only viable choice and it's a lot less useful than it once was. Only experienced players will accomplish anything as spies, and even then, you can probably do the same job better as sniper.
9:05 Hey! Orange box was my dream in 2007! But mom said that we don't have enough money (it cost 600 rubles or 20 bucks at the 2007 exchange rate.) As a result, my mother bought me only HL2:ep2 for 300 rubles or 10 bucks. 5 VALVE games only for 20 bucks…damn that was good days
The saddest part about this is that i'm watching this video 15 months after it was posted, yet it's still up-to-date with TF2 as a whole.
18 months late, still accutate
We have the Files Update
The hacker cant use the source code
20 months later ;-;
20 months now
welcome to every video about valve's problems ever
This is actually a lot to ask of the entire tf2 dev team, comprised of 2 guys and a sandwich.
@Brutal Beat sandwich. sandvich is the weapon
Just 2 guys now, the sandwich spoiled last week
Now it's just the janitor and a potted plant.
no one tell the OP of this comment but uh, the TF2 dev team is constantly changing, i don't get why people think its only 2 people, all of valve's dev teams have constantly changing numbers.
It was a joke man, because the tf2 dev team, even with more than 2 people and a sandwich, is very small compared to other valve stuff
Yes.
Yes indeed.

@OfficerWalrus Really good way of putting it, Valve really needs to hire more people.
@mehdi Haddou I mean that's good and all but, from my experience with L4D2's Last Stand update, it was good, but not great. He crossed the banana there
and the banana is a small medkit, compared to the sandvich, which is a medium healthpack
banana is good for a roamer heavy (if such a thing exists) or for situations where you don't have a pocket medic or a dispenser to hold down.
@@legenddairy0 ehh
self healing only maxes out at 3 per second while healing a target
so let's do the numbers.
Banana recharges every 10 seconds
Sandvich recharges every 30 seconds
Banana and Sandvich heals 37 and 75 health, respectively to a medic.
You know what tf2 needs?

@@Tubuxis Joke is indeed on me
Since its premiere on Nickelodeon in 1991, Rugrats has become the highest rated show on television for kids between the ages of 2 and 11.
Is that what you want your children to learn on their next trip to the theater?

guys this video was made when we thought there might be a possibility of a 2018 October update like jungle inferno. funke still had hope. We now know that it was for naught.
Yes
Here's the thing:
Valve obvoiusly want to push TF2 into a more competitive direction as we could see in MyM and JI.
I am going to say that that will be an impossible task. A game can't be competitive if it breaks everytime the devs touch the code.
Also, if they'd streamline the code, it would be easier to update the game in the future and thus less frustrating for the devs to work with. So it's in their best intend to do this, imo.
The Clean-up[date]

Yeah. Valve's got tons of money, they could totally afford to run ads.

Funke: The sandvich is the only good Heavy secondary
Second Banana: Am I a joke to you?
Yeah its good... but hes talking about in terms of competitive, with the banana you cant save your medic from large bursts of damage although you probably do more healing overtime
True. And I use the Second Banana more than Sandvich now
the Sandvich is quick burst healing. Second Banana has more sustained healing.
Both pale in comparison to the ultimate playstyle of Fat Scout.
DoKhyi Altan Ord the amount overheal is only increased with the quick fix which is barely used.

Some things I would love to be see implemented into TF2 just so it makes the game more fun and better as a whole (which to be honest, I don’t think Valve could implement all these ideas probably due to limitations on the Source Engine) are:
8. Add a timer to Capture the Flag (Please for the love of god, add this!)
15. Add a 4th Cosmetic Slot in the Loadout Screen (why haven’t Valve done this when there are so many cosmetics?!)

For example a level where you play as a spy and go throu an area with pyros spinning around and standing still, your goal would be to dogde flames while invisible using the cloak and dagger and the le'tranger, to finish you have to go to a specific area.

depressing how the game is exactly the same now as it was when this video was uploaded

If I could just add to this real quick: More mvm maps and more upgrades for weapons to make alternate playstyles viable (combat medic, demoknight, trolldier, fat scout, etc.) These would make mvm so much more fun!
good luck not getting kicked with rocket jumper
its almost as if niche sub classes are not that effective *LE GASP!*
Save for Demoknight, you upgrade, and he gets shit done
They just need to have new developers FROM the community and a beta system to make the community reacts to the changes.
After a year, it'll fix everything! (maybe)
This.
Saltiest French Salt you’re assuming valve would actually shell out the money to hire staff at all. When Uncle Dane visited Valve HQ, he posed question of why they don’t hire more people was (devs/coders specifically), and the answer was Valve simply won’t. If one valve development team garners support or gets new employees, all the rest “expect the same thing,” and Valve doesn’t want to sacrifice that effort or money.
yeah the community is always desperate to just do the damn work themselves when it inevitably becomes clear that valve won't do it, why not let them

valve doesn't care
i know many people disagree but look at the 2019 disaster
Nah they’re too lazy to practically slap all of the shit the community makes into any update thar isn’t a summer case, halloween or smissmass
shutup in 2020 i sent valve a video of tons of hackers they started removing them idk if they saw it though
what 2019 disaster

Source: I'm a programmer.
undefinedVoid Then do it and send to Valve, jk but like what if we someone actually did that.
undefinedVoid oh right lol my bad.
Some of the biggest problems like the fucked up default game settings can be changed in literal MINUTES by just changing some numbers in a text file and saving it - like
Imagine if 2fort was added into competitive :^)

August 2020 and TF2 still sits in a lonely corner inside Valve's mega-conglomerate house, waiting for a hug from papa gabe but still it never comes
July 2021. I think I just saw a tumbleweed.
2022 September Update: The TF2 room is filled of dust particles in the air, two skeletons and a dried plant.
"What does TF2 need"
A working security system. Like seriously, go to russian servers, you will know what im talking about. I just straight up leave the match whenever i hear sniper saying "Good shot mate/Fine shot mate" three times in a row.
yeah.. everytime i see a stock sniper with the cozy camper and hit mans heatmaker i get ptsd
and then in chat you see:
"jews
jews
jews
jews
jews"
plastered around, you can't see anything in chat from real users, the bot has initiated a votekick onto you, and everyone in the server including real players are voting yes without paying attention
oh yes, this was when the bot stage of tf2 was still in its infancy. Now casual is _quite literally_ unplayable outside peak hours.
I love the One Piece reference

Also, the second banana is, in some scenarios, the Second Banana is better than the sandvich. It allows faster recharge, so you can keep on getting ready for a fight
Personally I think the second banana is good for games where you don't have a med, so you can sort of act as a second health option for people since the banana recharges so fast. But in every other scenario, the sandwich is typically better.
Second Banana is for roaming style of Heavy...
Sandvich is for Heavy that stays closer to team...
I'd argue that unless you have a reliable pocket medic, its almost always better than the sandvich. When you use it, you're usually not too far below half health, so it still usually gets you to full health or close to it.
@@chaoswebz Yeah! Exacly!
ADVERTISEMENT! valve needs people to know about this game, not the already playing community
like hell, they dont even have to pay to put their games on steam's front page and still they dont because somehow they think the community will play this game forever, with old players getting tired and new players frustrated this isnt their annual COD game and leaving after shooting someone with the rocket jumper
valve has limitless resources due to their small size as a company and large income from steam, and what exactly do they do with all this money? I would really like to know
They don't use the front page to advertise stuff like TF2 only the new stuff that's good but yes tf2 needs advertisement
It’s been 6 months
Fun fact: VNN did, not Valve.
Retro Cz but valve didn’t announce that day of defeat, portal, ricochet, l4d or any other game was on hold and look at them now

So a Festive Sandvich is bad to use?
I’d rather eat a toothpick than a wrapper.
Toothpick stabby. Wrapper nice and smooth. Checkate.
Comrade Matthew Only 1 toothpick. Can be eaten at the end. Wrapper is part of the actual sandwich. Harder to eat because alot of it. Chckte.
Saliva will help it slide down easier. Checkmate.
Jungle Inferno was low key lit tho

the last big update that did this was jungle inferno, at least for me. me and my friends were talking about it 24/7. theorizing of what could come, what new maps what new things! that was 2017! it feels like yesterday!

It needs an MvM update.
Not a priority I'd say, but that would be awesome.
Yep
Amen. Meanwhile, we better stick to what the TF2 MvM Community offers. At least.
What is hardest mvm custom mission I need challenge
7:37 the second banana is very good if you don't have a medic
Holy shit funke

Heavys:HEAVY UPDATE
They should make a communist update for heavy
So heavy starves in a bread line while all his new weapons get redistributed to other classes?

and they should make national socialist update for medic? :d
