    I was the cine guy at a tv station back in the mid 70s. I shot thousands of ft of film through one of those. You diff focus through the viewfinder. As for jamming. As I say I shot a lot of film and never had a jam. My one bit of advice is to ALWAYS check the film speed. More than once we would shoot at some odd speed and then forget to reset it. Also regarding the eyepiece shutter. We never used it and never fogged any film.

    Thats, just received it yesterday, so cant wait to shoot. This instruction video is the best, better than many out there that confuse you. Thanks

    Hi. The "M" in "16 M" actually stands for "macro". The original Scoopic 16 had a non-macro lens. Long live the film!

    Great demo of Scoop16M this is. I owned one when Film was the only way to make " Film ". One fact she never mentioned here : " Although, there is not a single pixel on the capture medium, this camera in a trained hand could produce motion pictures that match and exceed any high dynamic range DigiCine camera. "
    BTW, for any fussy shooters out there puffing at the focusing and viewfinder of Scoop16, just set a wireless follow-focus and calibrate it. Then all you have to do is making the talent to hit the mark.
    BTW 2 - The " M " indicates the Macro ability of the lens. Set it on neutral and hot-glue it's lever handle in position. Thank me later

    Just discovered this camera, thank you so much for the thorough video. Is there a way to make it sound sync?

    Great video your amazing... do you keep the camera on a tripod at all times for focusing? If not, how to you manage to keep the camera in focus during moving shots? Rehearsed blocking?

    You dont need a meter for focusing. You can focus very accurate with the camera itself daf** you talking bout... This was made for TV broadcast / documentary back in the days, you wont have always the time and situation to shoot with a tripod and measure distances by hand, it's crazy. You're confusing people interested on the camera.

      Maybe the diopter was not set properly confusing the author of the video that continued to spread the confusion because of lack of the experience XP

    can anyone recommend where to purchase film and processing?

    • @spencercody1176
      @spencercody1176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kodak is basically the last producer of film left. For processing there are a few Kodak film labs all with incredibly helpful staff. There is one in Atlanta, New York, and London. If these are too far just do a bit of research and you can probably find a small lab somewhere near you.

    Hi! I've bought a Scoopic and am looking for power adapters and batteries like the ones in your video. Any idea where I can get those?

    Why are these so expensive??

      They rose in price recently because they've become trendy and are in somewhat short supply.

      @@thegrainsilo7353 Such a shame...seems like a dramatic increase in price. Shame because it also seems like one of the more ergonomical 16mm cameras.

      @@bluefilmsltd oh yes, it's a brilliant camera, the original grey one too.
      It's basically auto threading, has a great lens, has aperture readout in the viewfinder and the beam splitter is in front of the aperture meaning you always view it wide open even at .22. On top of all that, it's very nice to hold and carry.
