    What I like most about Mikey Chen is his honesty. He says it as it is, if the food sucks he'll say it sucks.

    • @rookere1604
      @rookere1604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      He tries not to with small businesses, but yeah with big places and franchises he has no problem being honest

      He is actually too lenient most of the time. If he has any reservations at all about a dish, you can be sure that it is terrible.

      I’ve been seeing ALOT of Disney people the last few times I’ve been there! This year actually I met a really nice family who said they actually enjoyed Dollywood and the smokies WAY better than Disney now, and it doesn’t require taking out a loan to enjoy it

      The prices of the hotels really reflect the influx of tourists unfortunately lol. It used to be the cheaper option than going to the beach but now it costs about the same.

    After watching Mike travel all over the world and try all kinds of cuisines, it was super fun watching him try some foods I grew up with for the first time! Pro tip, Mike, pimento cheese on the fried green tomatoes is a game changer.

    One of my favourite dishes I've ever had was at Elizabeth's in New Orleans. They did something called Eggs Redneck which was like eggs benedict but with country ham for the meat and a base of fried green tomatoes instead of the english muffin. Truly an enlightened combination.

    Mike, if that fried bologna sandwich had a homegrown summer tomato on it, that would’ve elevated it to 100 out of 10! It makes all the difference in the world! Plus, it should’ve been on either white bread or toast. 😋

    Amusement park food is always a crap shoot, because it's inevitable that some things are better than others. You gotta love Dolly Parton, though, because she's a class act and an American musical icon. Korean BBQ is always a good way to start or cap off your day, too!

    Next time in Atlanta you should check out Heirloom Market BBQ. It is both Korean and BBQ, but it is not Korean BBQ. It is a married couple. He is from Texas and cooks the meat like you would expect in Texas. She is from Korea and makes the sauce using Korean flavors. They serve it with Korean style banchan pickles instead of the usual dill pickle slices. It is so good.

    Mike as always enjoy your videos. My grandma always fried chicken in an iron skillet (not deep fried) and after turning once she would put the lid on for about 12 minutes then take it off to crisp up the skin/coating. We always bought smaller whole chicken and disjointed it ourselves and soaked in buttermilk with seasonings over night. Every part was used including the neck, back and giblets. Wish I could make you and Christine some!

    I live near dollywood and go there all the time. Sometimes the food is AMAZING & other times it's pure 🗑🤣🤣
