They didn't have time to upload everything in the time between Phish's shows and the D&C shows. They talked about all of this Friday on the GD channel on SiriusXM.
So you're telling me that with all the cutting edge technology in the Sphere, they couldn't afford a good internet connection? I really need to hear this explanation on SiriusXM. 😂
@@larrym2434 you must be ignorant of how tEcHnOloGy works. It would be an offline download, has nothing to do with the internet. There is just so much data that has to be transferred because the files are abnormally large, and that takes time. The videos are in 12K resolution. I'm guessing you don't know what a TB is, but it's so large you wouldn't even use 1 TB of data on your phone in 2 years.

A USB 3.0 cable can transfer at the rate of 5Gbit/sec ( = 625MByte/sec) ... so a TB can be transferred from an external HD to a computer in 800 seconds, or less than 14 mintues. So ... a 10TB hard drive can be fedexed over night, and the whole contents can be transferred in under 140 minutes. Or with high speed fiber optic (AT&T sells fiber optic to consumers with same speed as USB 3.0 transfer) you can skip the FedEx overnight and make the transfer from Grateful Dead's production studio to Sphere computers in under 2.5 hours. Talk to your tech savvy friends if this doesn't make sense. Thank you and have a good day.
I don't know anything about the technology. If what you're saying is that much better visuals are on the way that's great. What I do know is that these aren't. This is probably my favorite dead tune and I envisioned alot more. Nine minutes in gets better

You’re smart so you know that there are 1,000GB in 1TB, so I’ll save you the math, but the file transfer will take 16,000 seconds, or just under 4.5 hours. Of course, I am describing a consumer grade solution. Inside the Sphere Bobby's vocals sounded good, prob because the total sound was perfect. You could hear each string, etc. In other words, what was behind the voice balanced the overall sound. Most every song sounded A+ in the hall.

I love Dead n Co. and I really try not to complain about the tempo cause I truly do love them. But do you think Bobby could slow down Eyes anymore? This version was so incredibly slow.

These visuals are incredible for this, just wish they'd get weirder with them. Feels strangely sterile for the offshoot of the hoary and wild grateful dead. Like chamber music or lounge GD. Round edges, no tooth or fang, but nice and pleasant regardless!
Totally agree about the visuals. I've seen WAY trippier stuff at shoreline in the 90's and at DSO concerts. Too much typical Dead iconography not twisted, divided and stretched into something truly wild and weird. Also, the typical space images and Google earth type stuff. Also, a lot of retro imagery of days gone by. Just make it seems like a Disney Dead...or Vegas Dead, which it is. The 50 ft images of the band aren't helping.

Back in the 80's and 90's we didn't have social media for people to complain. The pace of this Eyes is very similar to Eyes of that time.
