Can the Draenei of Azeroth Finally Stop Running? | Warcraft Lore

- For tens of thousands of years the Eredar have existed in World of Warcraft's vast cosmos, building a magnificent civilization where light, magic and science meet. It wasn't until the arrival of the Burning Legion that they were torn apart, fleeing their home planet of Argus under the guidance of the mysterious Naaru to become the exiled Draenei that we know today.
But how did the Draenei reach Azeroth in the first place? How did the visions of their Prophet Velen guide them through the endless stars? Can they truly stop running after millennia, and call the planet of Azeroth their new home?
In this video, we'll travel through the history of the Draenei from their ancient beginnings to their fractured present - and touch a little bit on what the future might have in store for them as well.
Whether you're a long-time fan, brand new, or just curious about World of Warcraft and Draenei lore, I hope you enjoy!

This video turned out to be loooong. But Draenei are my favourites, so I'm ok with it.
Hope you all enjoy, and can't wait to read your thoughts and comments below. Also, skip to 2:39 if you want to bypass the story of how I got into WoW in the first place :D
Huge love for the Draenei. I really can say if not for them, I wouldn't have gotten into WoW the way I did.
I largely play Shamans and Mages as draenei, though over the years I've done about everything except a rogue for them I think.
There's something very wonderful in their design that manages to stay juuuussst this side of the fantasy/Scifi line and brings a compelling story and characters with them. The heritage quests were so wonderfully told, I really hope the seeds planted there will pay off soon.
Very nice narration, thank you! My first ever character was a draenei priest, leveling up on Azuremist Isle... nostalgia :) The Man'ari Eredar questline was also very nice to go through imo.
I'm so glad you enjoyed! :) Azuremyst is full of nostalgia for sure, I never get tired of that levelling experience. And the music is still one of my favourites to listen to, so relaxing. I haven't done the Man'ari Eredar questline yet, maybe that needs to go on the list!
@@TenMinuteWorlds oh yes the music is simply magical!
My Draenei Pally has been my main since about half way though The Burning Crusade and have not looked back since. Absolutely love them.
Nice, you've had your Draenei for a long time in that case! My Pally has been around almost as long, I still remember the days when I used to level with her as Holy and then wonder why it took me forever to get through any mobs, hah. But even after all these years, I love them just as much, if not more :D
Nice video. Algorithm brought me here. TBC was when I first got my own account and Draenei are too cool.
Yesssss. I am so ready to get cozy for this! Had a routine but painful medical procedure yesterday that I am still ouchie from. About to go get some caffeine and breakfast and return to bed with my cats to watch this. ❤❤❤ Love the video length btw.
Oh no, feel better soon! Hope this at leasts helps you to relax for a bit. Anything involving extra cats sounds like a win in my book :D
@@TenMinuteWorldsGreat video as always! My original draenei character is the only character that remains in the guild my dad made when he got me to play this game with him, which now makes her the guild leader by default. I don’t have the heart to disband it because of that despite my complicated parent relationship, including I wouldn’t want to play WoW with him again. But I’ll always keep his guild as it was for him, on that particular character. ❤
I'm putting a calendar reminder to watch this tonight because I love Draenei! ❤ I'm soooo ready for it 🎉
Yesss, fellow Draenei fan! Hope you enjoy when you get around to it :D
Thank you for this! I am a big fan of Warcraft lore so I really appreciate this deep dive.
You're so welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Plenty more lore videos still to come :D
always love getting new lore for the best race in the game
I totally agree :D any excuse to talk about how awesome they are. Thanks so much for watching!
I LOVED THIS VIDEO. It was made with so much passion!!! Well done!!!
I like the draenei race as well. My 2 races that I love the most are Night Elves and Draenei. In WOW I have 3 characters. 1 male (Shaman) and 2 female (A Hunter and a Pally).
I'm so glad you enjoyed, and that my enthusiasm came across! :D Great character combo too, Draenei Shaman is something I've always wanted to try but never got around to it. Thanks so much for watching!
This video was great! Have you done the new Heritage questline for the Draenei!? I hear you get a cool armor set the matches their TBC concept art! (never mind asked this question halfway through watching the video) xD
Haha, I have indeed done the heritage questline! The armour is very cool, and I've already worked parts of it into the transmog I have for my Draenei - my only complaint is that the legs seem a little too short? But that's only a minor thing :D Have you done it yet, or are you planning to?
I love playing my Lightforged Dranei paladin, such an iconic race class combo. I also have a Dranei hunter that I imagine is a Rangari. I thought a Dranei rogue might be weird but they work on a weird level. 🤔
Yes! Playing a Lightforged Draenei Paladin is like, 'do you want some more Light to go with your Light?' :D such a perfect combo. I think they also did a great job of working the Rangari into the lore - Rogue's never been my favourite class, but I'd be willing to give it a try for the Draenei 🤔
Another banger. Great work!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed!
I think the real question is, do you play Draenai or Light Forged?
That really is a tough question! I have such a soft spot for the original Draenei, but once you know the origin of the Lightforged, you can't ignore that they're also very cool. I do have one, but I haven't levelled her much - maybe it's time! Thanks for watching :D
Ohhhhhhh yeah! I've been waiting on this one 🙌 😌! I absolutely love it. My favorite race in the game, Dralkou my paladin main I've been playing since Wrath of the Lich king on and off. I really enjoyed their heritage quest line. The idea of a new city seems awesome but I think it will also come with a fall of a city, maybe the void consumes storm wind in the Midnight expansion, who knows 🤷♂️....... lol One of my all time favorite characters though was Vindicator Maraad, I dont recall seeing his spirit at the festival, which was a bummer. After his dealth in the Warlords of Draenor expansion I've had my main look exactly like his model since.
Amazing, another Draenei fan! :D You've had your Paladin about as long as I've had my Naiari, it sounds like - recently started playing her again and remembered just how much I enjoy her. Can't wait to see the new city when they finally get there, really hope it won't take too long for them to implement after all the years they've been living in that wreck. Interesting thought about the void consuming a city too, I hadn't thought about that. Part of me wonders (hopes) that Midnight might be an excuse to bring back Yrel and the alternate Draenei as well, considering their fanatical connection to the light might be relevant. And Maraad was such a great character, I can't recall seeing him at the festival either now you say it. That's a huge shame, I'll have to go back and double check!
@TenMinuteWorlds I truly believe the final raid of the expansion for TWW will be within Stormwind, and it will be both factions working together to stop Xal'ateh from bringing about the ever consuming void. We see a glimpse into this nightmare with the horrific visions from the BFA expansion. I think that will bring about Yrel on a crusade with all of her light warriors to defend Azeroth from the void, and maybe when that ship arrives, (hopefully with a safe landing) the new city is built around that.......
Great video thanks for it
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
first toon was a Dranei mage, still around but not my main at the moment
Nice, it's so cool to hear that you still have your first character around :D I dropped my Draenei Paladin for a while too, but recently I picked her up again and I've really been enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
I love draenei, preceded just a little by kaldorei.
Totally agreed, those two are my favourites as well. So much history behind both races! Thanks for watching :D
I do hope you get a blood elf video done!
Counting on it! The aim is to make a deep lore dive on all of the playable races eventually, so Blood Elves are absolutely on the list. Maybe even the next one? We'll see!
I could be wrong but I don’t think *every* planet has a world soul. For example, I didn’t think Draenor had one.
You're totally right, I definitely made an assumption there - looks like I need to make a video on world souls at some point! Thanks for watching :D
I love orcs
You're gonna enjoy the Orc lore video when I get around to it!
