    Hello, adventurers! This unique tale marks a special addition to our library, a format reserved for interconnected narratives. Similar lore tales may follow this format, with "The Jungles of Azeroth" being the next in line.
    This tale was initially developed over a period of two months. As you progress through newer tales like the "Swamp of Sorrows" compared to the earlier "Wetlands" tale, you might notice enhancements and maybe mistakes (pronounciations).
    Considerable feedback has been integrated since then, aiming to offer an increasingly enriched account of Azeroth's history. For now, thank you for accompanying us on this expansive journey through the depths of Azeroth's swamps. Light be with you ☀

      Yeah I know the mistake has been picked up a couple of times actually 👍🏻 it was a typo on the script that carried through into the recording, a lot to process when editing so little things do creep in unfortunately 🥲

    Why no mention of Krasarang Wilds or Nazmir? Are they not swamps, or not on Azeroth?

    • @TheKarazhanLibrary
      @TheKarazhanLibrary  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      You are correct, Nazmir is certainly a Swamp, and located on the Troll Islands of Zandalar in central Azeroth. The stories from Zandalar are currently under development within our archives and are not yet prepared for sharing at this time. King's honour friend! ⚔️

    It kinda strikes me as odd that Medihv would just eradicate the trolls (I dont mean his powers, I mean his motivation). At first glance it totally makes sense: big angry troll army tries to destroy good human city. At second glance... isnt Medivh supposed to be a "guardian of Azeroth"? Meaning all of Azeroth and all her people? Wouldnt that include a certain neutrality in political matters? I understand that the trolls werent much of talkers anyway, so the "hit first, talk later"-strategy would've worked better, but it just sounds strange to me now that Medivh would simply aid the humans without conditions. After all, Stormwind's expansion into Stranglethorn was what provoked the trolls to begin with... And yes, I'm aware trolls dont need much to be provoked. Still... it was the humans who started it and they got out with no repercussions whatsoever.

    • @TheExiledWarlord
      @TheExiledWarlord 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      This makes sense but I think the purpose of the Guardian of Azeroth was to keep Azeroth safe for the sake of humanity, not all creatures. If I'm not mistaken, the position was made by humans, maybe elves? It's been a while since I've brushed up on that part. If trolls were a threat to human expansion then it would be easy to justify eradicating them.

    • @antdav3384
      @antdav3384 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The trolls did strike first, but that was back when humanity was a new race. The real beef between the trolls and humans began when Thoridan united the human tribes on the eastern kingdoms I.e. arathi tribe (Thoridan’s tribe I believe) the alterac tribe and the tirisfal tribe. There were others included but not as prevalent as the ones mentioned.

    • @markup6394
      @markup6394 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@antdav3384 Ah yes, true. I think it was the Amani tribe and Thoradin or whatever his name united the human tribes mainly to stand a chance against the trolls. I dont deny that there is a long animosity between humans and trolls, and the Guardian is above all a person primarily allied with the humans and elves... Still... When I first read it, I was like "awesome", but now that I'm older I'm more like "oh kay... not at all overreacted" ^^°

    • @markup6394
      @markup6394 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@TheExiledWarlord That, too, yeah. Totally forgot about that little detail ^^° Also that humans and elves worked together because there was a huge troll thread to both of them. Nevertheless... its still strange that Medivh would just consent... or maybe its me and I'm getting too old ^^°

    • @abbiejo6822
      @abbiejo6822 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the guardians were originally guardians of the human, elven, and dwarven kingdoms of Azeroth (and maybe gnomes, idk if they were in the lore yet back then). In fact at some points “Azeroth” referred specifically to the Eastern Kingdoms, not the planet. I think Khadgar is the first guardian (unofficially since he didn’t get the powers) who focuses on the good of the whole world and all its peoples…except maybe murlocs…and spiders.

    Oh wow so the city in lock modan with the ships and everything is no more? I remember leveling there before cata and my friend I played with was a priest who possessed and tried to drown me in a duel on that big bridge lol many good memories their. can’t believe I haven’t been back since and I’m just now learning about it 😅 the crocolisks were cool for a pet but then annoying everytime I tried slipping past one I’d hear that hiss and know that I aggroed it lol
    Theramore was the town I think?

      If you’re talking about the city in the wetlands, next to loch modan, that’s Menethil harbor. Theramore’s on Kalimdor in Dustwallow.

      This feedback was previously raised by travelers more than a month ago and promptly addressed, with adjustments made in subsequent narratives. Mastering accurate pronunciations demands significant effort, particularly when rectifying long-standing personal mispronunciations. Crafting these tales during the twilight hours occasionally leads to errors, yet despite the wording, I'll earnestly consider this feedback once more.
