Wonder if the next Metal Gear game we’ll have Steve Blum, Keifer Sutherland, and David Hayter all in the same game? Maybe a recreation of MGS1 but modeled like Phantom Pain
I love this game’s themes of peace, and how throughout the game we see Big Boss turn from fighting for peace and then fighting for war. And despite Paz saying that her whole ‘Angel of Peace’ Persona was fake, she ended up fighting for peace at the end of the day, just under Cipher.
honestly i liked this game way more than mgs3, the false ending with the boss walking into the water damn near brought a tear to my eye. fantastic game
I’m so glad that they gave Master Miller a bigger story, his character before the MGSV trilogy was just so empty when he seemed like he could have been so much more
I will say this guys, personally I think Peace Walker was the link that completed the Saga, don't get me wrong MGSV will have a special place in my heart but it was more like a love letter to the fans. Peace Walker on the other hand felt like the final chapter, the ending didn't show Miller becoming enemies with Big Boss but it can be left up to the player and even Big Boss's vision of his world can be left up to the players imagination. Overall Peace Walker was a chapter that wrapped everything up nicely. Big Boss's story was pretty much complete in this story.
The whole Metal Gear Story is so freaking awesome! And the music of course is exzellent. The characters, the Story, the music, the everything of the Metal Gear Saga is simple amazing. I am sad every time and at the Same time I am happy. There has no game until this point that gehts me so emotional and Mixed up. I am so excited for The Phantom Pain. I just want to play an awesome game again and get these Feelings that make me cry, laugh, fear and fill me with full emotions every time again. Its so good I can't even really describe my Feelings...
@@MixWeapon mgs5 has the worst story in the series but it also has plenty of positive as well like art direction, graphics, some level of humor, and easily the best stealth action gameplay. It’s narrative is massively flawed but damn there's still alot to gain from it all.
Mgsv is clearly unfinished however the story points it does make are just as strong as the story in any metal gear game. And the gameplay is the peek of the series. Repetitive? Yeah. Flawed? Duh. Good game? In my opinion yeah.
Phantom pain is the most beautiful painful experience in of my life I still feel a deep sadness and happiness that I was able to experience the ultimate metal gear game but yet I know there was more to the story
"You saw it, didn't you? When you went to space.." so profound and solemn. No different than us looking at ants and seeing how beautiful life can be if we work together for peace.
What I love about Peace Walker and how it differs from the other MGS games is how this game interact with the world. I mean - if you look at MGS1 or MGS3 they are entirely closed in the world limited to the borders of the levels, with only small interaction with the rest of the world. In MGS2 you only have the ending at Manhattan, with the rest of the game in some fictional places. MGS4 in 3rd chapter takes you to the world (Europe), but still there is a huge war going on, and you get to see only a glimpse of it. And then in Peace Walker it's nearly the same, except the one scene. When Big Boss calls NORAD it's probably the only time in the whole series, when someone from the "outer" world reacts to him actually being who he is. It' the only time in the series, when it's not any main character who reacts to him being a Big Boss. In this short moment you realize what kind of legend he became and what being a Big Boss really means fot the entire franchise.

2:50:32 Big Boss has the strength to hold up a Metal Gears Foot and stop it from crushing him? That explains a lot about his, Liquids, and Solid Snakes tonka toughness... dayum... Could almost add "Rules of Nature" just for that moment lol
My favourite mgs game And probably game ever, the art the atmosphere, the story I love it. This game made me interested in the cold war, which is still very relevant today. The way I see it, the theme is the fleeting nature of peace. In the world with our ongoing conflict and the conflict in ourseleves, especially in our generation, which is constantly ongoing. In terms of this it is the conflict of the bosses reconciliation of his countries betrayal of his country, being lost without his mentor and his desire for peace despite only knowing war. There are no truly evil or bad people, just a never ending conflict each that sets in motion the other. Yet in the world we love amazing acts of kindness an love and peace happen despite the warful nature of the world, because we think with our hearts not our heads. And these people may seem nothing like you expect them too. In the end, I think.we have to follow our hearts because the power of love is always stronger Than the power of fear
It's really great how Kojima kept the continuity behind The Boss's belief of the lack of absolute enemies, and the sacrifice she made but in the form of a machine
this is beautiful, I had to make a stop, since i don't have the time to watch the entire thing at once so i decided to stop it at 20:00 exactly that was an amazing coencidence
Man, like a few other people here this was my first MGS game I remember despite hating quick time events and generally being scared out of my mind (I was like what? 8? Maybe even younger haha) I fell in love with the art style, to this day that type of lineart in this game and in a lot of ~2010 comics is still my favourite I wish I could draw in this art style (I don't know the name of it), it's so amazing
Actually there's an explanation for it that this video doesn't cover. It's in the Codec tapes you can listen to that are earned from fighting the harder versions of the mechs. Probably not featured in the video because it's hours of just codec recordings which makes for great listening but poor viewing as a movie. The short version is that while staying on Mother Base, Paz started to like being part of MSF. MSF was planning on celebrating a festival they call Peace Day and as part of that, Kaz had roped Paz and Zadornov into being a band as their names all mean peace (Paz is vocals, Zadornov plays a therimin and Kaz plays something else, can't remember) and wrote a song to go along with it, which is the J-pop song in Paz's fight. Paz, while initially reluctant, began looking forward to singing the song on Peace Day and intentionally stalled her sabotage of Zeke so she could attend Peace Day then continue Cipher's plan. Cipher noticed this and pressured her into continuing. The day of the boss fight (1 day before Peace Day), while working on Zeke, Paz was spotted by Chico who alerted the base to Paz's betrayal. The song is a recording from a rehearsal of the song for Peace Day. What I want to know is why Paz has to drive Zeke using a snorkel and in her underwear.
@@vulthurmir2478 Well, yes and no. It's a Side Op, "Rescue the Intel Agent," which, if I recall right, is only available after you import GZ save data.

I cannot believe how good this game is. There was not a single conversation I was not into. Too bad it is being held hostage on a goddamn portable console. The whole potential thrown out of the window. Plotwise by FAR the best MGS
@@DavidVegaBurgos Thats not what I meant. Its core gameplay is designed for a very limited portable console - a remaster for PS3 is not gonna change anything about it. What I meant is that I cannot believe that this great and actually important plot to Big Boss just happened to be a sidething for PSP. Should have gotten just the same treatment as the other major MGS titles.

thank you very much for the effort put into this video, i recently got MGSVPP and was a bit lost despite having played every single MGS from solid snake to Guns of Patriots
To me, one of the biggest oversight in this game must be the lack of facial animation on Snake in the in-engine scenes! He's always wearing the same cry baby face. He's much more expressive in MGS3! Sure, the Snake of Peace Walker is a much more cynical and tired man than the witty and cheeky fellow from Snake Eater, but that still bothers me. :D
***** I don't think so. The PSP is considerably weaker than the PS2. The HD version is just a higher resolution image with AA on it. Its not gonna look any different.
+Moshugaani They did that because in MGS3 Snake didn't kill his freaking mentor and loved one until the end. That's why they made him more tough and sad looking. Besides, this game was made for the PSP.

Steve Blum and David Hayter in the same game..I've watched this like 5 times and it's still amazing
Jonathan Ward I thought it was awesome seeing them work together too!

True him and gray fox had the most inspiring speeches
Yes if we don't count Metal Gear Rising characters
I will say this guys, personally I think Peace Walker was the link that completed the Saga, don't get me wrong MGSV will have a special place in my heart but it was more like a love letter to the fans.
Peace Walker on the other hand felt like the final chapter, the ending didn't show Miller becoming enemies with Big Boss but it can be left up to the player and even Big Boss's vision of his world can be left up to the players imagination.
Overall Peace Walker was a chapter that wrapped everything up nicely. Big Boss's story was pretty much complete in this story.
Man... so glad these videos exist. This was a huge piece of my videogame childhood, and now since I can't play it again, this is the best option.
I got kind of emotional when The Boss's voice started singing and proceeded to drown herself..
That Mr Kojima bit had me dying of laughter, I had to replay the scene the first time I played that mission
And the Phantom Pain will most likely remain incomplete.
Quite a shameful end for such a legendary franchise
How do you feel about it now? Lmfao.
What about The Phantom Pain?Diamond Dogs got involved in the Soviet Invasion Of Afghanistan, fighting the Soviet Army in the process and the Angolan Civil War,where they fought on behalf of the MPLA fighting against mercenaries from South Africa.

My Favorite game to

I remember despite hating quick time events and generally being scared out of my mind (I was like what? 8? Maybe even younger haha) I fell in love with the art style, to this day that type of lineart in this game and in a lot of ~2010 comics is still my favourite
I wish I could draw in this art style (I don't know the name of it), it's so amazing

That J-pop song near the end sure caught me off guard. But it was hillariously awesome. Only Hideo Kojima could get away with just absurdity.

Timeline. Peacewalker is one of the most important parts of it. The fact that it was originally a portable game is wild lol
True lol and the devs saw it as " metal gear solid 5" and still treated it like a spinoff that isn't canon. I would honestly enjoy a remake of this game. I was interested in the story
Funny how they only decided to give Snake's face a couple of animations in the Paz fight/ending.

I had expected zero to be in this. I remember he was supposed to be a bad guy, but I haven't yet seen how he became a bad guy... He seemed perfectly all right in mgs3...
That's just rushed writing on Kojima's part honestly. It's one of the reasons MGS4 gets so much flak for its story.

It was more shit getting out of his hands and him being incapable of avoiding it.
+SaberRexZealot I could only recall the nanomachine excuses as a nitpick in mgs4' s story (in my opinion) I love the series for how informative a complex its stories are which is why I wasn't dissapointed with its conclusion
