I told you they hit like a ton of bricks when Appetite for Destruction hit. This, Welcome to the Jungle, sweet Child o Mine, Mr Brownstone, and a few others all on one CD. Now image being 17/18 and in full party mode and that was my life at the time. You are the best man. I can’t get enough of watching you react to the music that I grew up on and still listen to. Nearly all the songs you do are on my iPhone but I got news for you. There’s like 10,000 more songs out there you haven’t gotten to yet from that 70s to 90s era. It was never ending with new awesome music dropping daily.
I was 15 when this came out, the neighbours would come down and complain every single time it played on MTV because I had that volume turn on MAX and I would be screaming like a banshee and jumping off the couch, omg, memories!! if my teen only knew, lol, I try to explain it to her but she's on tik tik and has no clue, lol ( I know it's called tik tok, but I call it tik tik just to see the look she gives me lol)

that's what a lot of people don't get in the world of hip hop today. Take Tupac as an example, kids today listen to Tupac way more than i ever did in the 90s because every month a classic album was dropping from someone.
I love this song. It starts out nice, and when it gets going toward the end, I'm amazed Slash didn't set that guitar on fire! He's regarded as one of the greatest ever to do it, and here's why he's earned that praise. He doesn't find the groove. He lives there.

Fun fact: this was the song that inspired Michael Jackson to want to do a song with the guitarist Slash. They did "Give In To Me" in the studio and he plays on "Black or White" live in concert for special appearances. Paradise City is IN-FUNKING-SANE!

This and Welcome to The Jungle were on their debut album “Appetite For Destruction” November Rain was off their second album (double album) “Use Your Illusions 1&2”. Appetite being one of rocks greatest debut albums ever. Should just listen to the whole thing in one go.

I remember the first time I heard of GNR. I had been stationed in England for a few years and this young kid was newly arrived from the States. He found out that I like Rock and Roll and asked if I liked GNR. Of course I said, who are Guns 'N' Roses? The look on his face was hilarious. He played me this song and I knew why they were popular. Now, I'm not a big fan of the group but I do like several of their songs. Night Train is one of my favorites.
Guns N' Roses may have been the last true rock stars/band and probably the last ones that could fill not arenas but stadiums.

This was the first album that made me say "whoaaa". I had heard of all the "whoaaa" bands before this but never experieced that for myself. When this CD hit stores it was crazy! Everyone was talking about this new band, they were sooo "BAD". I beleive they were one of the first bands to have a Parental Advisory sticker on it, that made it soo much more cool to us young people at the time lol. I think there were 2 swear words in the whole album, pretty tame for nowadays. Every song on the CD was amazing.
I think to this day its still the best fastest selling debut rock album of all time

I was at the concert where they recorded the first half of the video. It was in August 1988 at Giants Stadium in NJ. I was on the field general admission. They were the opener, then came Deep Purple, and the headliner was Aerosmith. Awesome show!

GNR was one of my favorite concerts I have ever been to. I have been to ALOOOT of concerts. All ages! People at 60, to youngins like 14 or 15.
We lived in California 1992-1993. I was only like 11 back then, and so when my big sisters went to see a GnR concert, I was not able to attend. Holy shit, do I wish I had been old enough to tag along, because in my later years I have learned to love this band.

We were there when the filmed the video for this song - concert at Giants Stadium. Can see a few of my friends in the front row, when the camera was behind Axl, shooting over his right shoulder out towards the crowd. Axl was wearing a white leather jacket with fringes on the sleeves. Great times.
Nothing feels quite like being a few rows from the stage when they sing this at the end of the concert, so much going on at the same time, it's an experience. You have to try it before they stop touring

The entire 'Appetite for destruction ' album is absolute fire, I have listened to that album more than any other album.
Ok, late commenting on this but couldn't resist because it brings back a good memory for me. This song was playing on the radio in the car when I was on the way to the hospital to give birth to my daughter. Sure, I was in labor but that didn't stop me from ROCKIN' OUT in between contractions. I was playing air guitar, and also drums on the dashboard. While singing. Yes, I'm a talented multi-tasker. I remember hubby kept looking at me in a mixture of disbelief and irritation. LOL !!
