The most perceptive statement I've heard from anyone in a long time. He's also the greatest frontal in the history of rock....but such a primadona thats not even worth it in the long run. Check out the Guns N Roses Behind the Music and spend an hour just feeling for what all the other band members put up dealing with him. Also look up Metallica feud with Axl which is very amusing. On the other hand Axl and Slash were both the best at what they do and all their songs are worth checking out.

I was like “No meet and greet? No pictures with the band? No autograph?” She said no cause Axel has anxiety and doesn’t meet fans…. I had the opportunity to see them live back when they were still touring. They opened with welcome to the jungle, and the entire stadium was pitch black, all the lights were out. When the beat came in after the guitar intro, the whole place lit up with fireworks, and gigantic inflatable monsters from the inside of the Appetite for Destruction album cover were floating over the crowd. The crowd went absolutely nuts and was my favorite part of any concert that i've been to. To this day the memory of that when i listen to the song makes my hair stand on end. It was an absolutely spectacular show and i'm so glad i got to see them before they broke up. They're just as good, if not better live than recorded.

Calling Axl a Diva is an understatement. Is temper Literally started at least one riot. And It was because of him (and the massive amount of drugs and alcohol they were all doing) the band broke up. He would show up hours late for practice. And an hour late for live shows. They were all messed up and erratic because of the drugs and alcohol but he took it to a whole other level. And he is one of those artist types (the mood swings, the pretension and the inflated ego).

Well...I'd say Alcohol & Drugs were definitely up there too. But yes Axle showing up hours late for practices and over an hour late to shows! I remember seeing them in the late 80's in L.A. at the Whiskey & Rainbow room. It was crazy! Crazy then...but definitely the best times of my life!! I went almost every weekend to LA to see bands!! Insane 🎼🎸🤘😁

I think it was more complicated than that. Grunge was killing hair metal already and Axl was desperate to work with guys like Cobain while Cobain wanted nothing to do with Axl. The UYI tour was likely the final nail in the coffin. They bit off more than they could chew and the dramas and chaos of being on the road finished them off. While Axl was an asshole, it's unfair to pin everything on him when everyone else in the band was off their heads on every drug and drink they could get their hands on (according to Izzy, who returned for a few dates on the tour and was shocked by what they'd become).
