Don't need that bearing tool for the install BTW. Just get it on there straight a little bit by hand and with a couple of taps from a hammer and let the nut drive it back in. Also, 214 ft-lb for RWD and 310 ft-lb for AWD on that nut.
Don't follow his tip on letting the bearing press the inner dust shield in place. My inner dust shield unseated itself and is now blocking the bearing. If I pull the bearing off I'll split it and risk making the insides dirty. Any tips?
I'm sorry that happened to you! This reply may be too late, but if your hub/bearing assembly is new, you should be able to pull it off with a 3 jaw puller without splitting it. Use penetrating lubricant to reduce the friction on the shaft and it should slide right off!
Sadly it was a pretty tight fit to the shaft and the inner race stayed when I pulled the bearing off. I was very careful to keep it clean, but some speck of dust probably got in there. I'll see how long it lasts. The worst thing is I didn't even need to change bearing. The car still makes the noise I tried to fix.
@@viggokoch6998 a lot of time tires are making noise, so people think it's the bearing, I know it's old but did you ever found out what was making the noise. Have a good day.
It's awesome how you took the dust shield off to pop the race bearing. People use crazy stuff that can damage the shift. Great video!
Killer vid. Straight and to the point with clear camera work. Thanks from SoCal.
Great vid 👍🏻 I'll be doing this to my z4 at the weekend.
Good job my friend very professional 👍🏻
Keep it up my man awesome video!

It is totally unnecessary! But still satisfying to use. Thanks for posting the torque specs!
Was that the BMW installation tool?
