I remember doing this to my 240 back when I had it. Thanks for the nostalgia, but my favorite speakers was Boston Acoustics before the were discontinued.

For those wanting a touch screen double din basic but good head unit the Jensen cmr270. But you do gotta live with the blue lights and chrome knobs. Not very oe looking. Love the ghost box idea on older rigs you wanna keep oem+

for the front Sal if you wanted later, can make a mount out of metal around the same shape of the oem yellow plastic, (i used the front of a dryer from dump lol) but instead the center will be much larger. can fit Bigger speakers this way

Can you use the ghost box with a aftermarket head unit or is that OEM radio plug the only way to connect the ghost box? I dont have a traditional audio amp and am trying to avoid installing one and this seems like a easier route to get some more power to the 4 speakers.
It replaces the headunit completely 👍🏼

Aren’t the speakers underpowered if the box puts out 50W RMS and they’re rated for 100RMS?
Not necessarily
They’re close enough
And surprisingly the rears are much louder than the fronts
And the fronts were a perfect match at 50RMS
