You guys keep me inspired to keep working on my miata 🥺
Means the world to us thank you
I've changed the head unit and speakers (cheap ones I admit) in mine and in the end I rarely listen to music, on the highway there is so mush noise inside the cabin due to road noise (poly bushings), hardtop vibrations and headers/exhaust that if I want to listen to music I have to raise the volume to a unreasonable level. So instead I just listen to the exhaust tone, I don't want to damage my hearing more than it already is. Anyway, nice video and keep on the good work guys.
I feel that. I unfortunately poly not realizing how squeaky they are but it’s def worth it
I’m sure those speakers were adequate enough for sitting in a parking lot to chill
There’s almost no getting the convertible noises and loud exhaust notes lol
Man, I'm just waiting for my OEM unit to die on my Tacoma to replace the whole thing with something nice. I'm hoping by father's day so I can get myself a father's day gift..lol. But you guys made it look so easy.
That would make a great Father’s Day gift lol
It’s tricky on paper but once you’re in there doing it, Seems to go a lot smoother
Lol it probably won't die. The stock one in my 97 Camry still running strong
next time you have the door cards off you need to install some speaker socks so that the cones dont get damaged from water that gets past the window trim seal....it happens
Removed my door speakers yesterday as they weren’t working. 2 lumps of rust and rotted cones
@@Marco-ek8wu Yep, speaker socks dont cost much at all and they are easy to install...def worth doing.
I have 20 videos in my watch later. Sal videos get bumped up to rn 🖤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aww yeah that’s what’s up, I’m new to the Mazda Miata world til recently, just spotted what I believe to be an abandoned one in an abandoned house yard , making some moves on it , for possible v8 conversion after having just done research. But I love my sounds this is cool, wish I had seen this much much sooner I had found two or 3 great working good quality vintage five channel amps dirt cheap from the junkyard a while back just had them sitting around lol 😅😅 any how good stuff !✌🏽✌🏽👍🏽🔥
I run Fosgate amps in the trunk with 1in dome tweets and 8in mids in the doors and a single custom made to fit footwell sub box with a RF 8in dual voice coil sub.....Ive had this system build in 2 miatas and it freakin rocks loud and punchy. I am running the tweets and 8in mids off a 400 watt 4 channel RF amp, and a 300watt RF mono amp for the sub. Its also a sleeper install with nothing visible besides the head unit that doesnt look stock
A sound system is next up on my list, perfect timing on uploading this video. How's the brightness of the A6 in the daytime?
Brightness is perfect
Haven’t really had the top off of it
But it’s been done once or twice
No complaints there
If anything it’s a little laggy tho
@@SpiritDriven Good to hear. For the price it's really hard to pass up so in all likelihood it's what I'll end up with. I wonder if any of these budget oriented carplay receivers have lower lag levels in the first place? Seems to be the main compromise on all lower priced units.
@@tpatronan I think that’s true
More money spent, faster process

Do you think a Miata with an automatic transmission is a good first car?
I honestly think, even if you don’t know how to drive manual, buy the manual Miata
You will learn in a day or 2
And I promise you you’ll be so much happier later in your years of driving
That’s something I wish I had when I got my first car
I wish I started with a manual
@@SpiritDriven Thank you! as ive looked more into it I've come to just want a manual regardless, I love the channel man keep it up!
Hey brother how are you? That’s a nice video, thank you so much for sharing us your project. I bought a Miata 1995, but I want to change you know, the stereo, the speakers of the doors and of the seats. I found the speakers of the seats, but I want to ask you, you put the stereo so the space is adequate for that stereo? Can you share with me the links of the speakers and the stereo please, thank you again for your support!
Very informative and helpful vid, thanks man
Wish we went into more detail with the whole install but glad We could help a little!
Do you have a video on how to install the rear deck speaker panel?
I don’t but it’s crazy easy
Pull the carpet back
Remove 10mm bolts around the body
Pull panel off and reinstall the speaker panel same orientation
No need to modify anything 👍🏼
@@SpiritDriven thank you so much! Also I looked up the head unit on Amazon and it says sold out and doesn’t know if it’ll be back on Amazon . Any other head unit that will match the rest of the set up?
@@ITSWALRUS1224 well after a few months this head unit just suuuucks
Bluetooth is spotty
I’d say invest in a pioneer or something
Did you guys cover the rear speakers with the carpet or did you cut holes in? Not sure if that will affect the sound, I just ordered the rear panel.
We threw the carpet back over, it definitely affects the sound. Our goal is to have a custom piece of upholstery made to mimic the rear deck carpet, but have a cutout grille made to allow the sound to travel through
@@SpiritDriven Thanks for the fast reply, I was thinking of doing the same but was wondering how you solved the issue. I think I will probably get the carpet cut and then stitched the same way as the floor mats, so it will look as stock as possible, maybe add grilles later on, depending on how it will look.
@@sp69 that’s the exact setup we’re gonna do
Maybe do a flexible grille or something along those lines
@@SpiritDriven would love to see a video on this! I want to get the speaker panel but I’m unsure about how I’m going to make it look good.
@@francoguillen25 it’s super easy! We lost a bunch of footage on this install unfortunately but the carpet just lays right over it
You’d never know it was there 🙏🏼
Hello what is that white thing you used for the rear speaker? Thanks
It’s a rear speaker panel that came from carbonmiata.com
right on bro n this reminds me of my teens , me n the friends usta shatter windows with 2 l7 soloberic 15s and a 4k ark audio amp
(not sure u can even get arc anymore).... fun times but i agree with ya now i rather quality sound over replacing windows lmfao ... keep it rad my brotha stay safe n build on l8z
Bro I wish this setup could shatter glass hahaha
Your setup sounds like it’s way more powerful
I’m gonna redo mine honestly not super happy with the sub portion of the setup
@@SpiritDriven I have nothing but door speakers in the miata bro I like to hear the turbo n hood dump over tunes now lol but that setup was in a 93 mx3 hatch lol but I deff feel ya as maybe once I done dumping all my bread into engine turbo n tuning lol I might get a new setup ... I really did that setup that go behind the seats thats rad bro... peace n love yal stay rad and safe fam
Do you have a video about the part so you could put rear speakers in
I'm very interested in it
We lost a ton of footage when we recorded it
We ended up tying it in with this video
Sorry brother
Any questions lemme know
@SpiritDriven no problem I understand what's it called and where can I order one

Heyo! I was thinking about basically copying your setup for the sound system, except I'd appreciate your opinion now that you've been rocking it for about a year now.
Is there anything you would change with the setup? Also, that AMP is discontinued, do you have any other recommendations?
Hey bro!
I would spend more money on a better headunit
And honestly after a while I’m upset about the sub setup
I would bump up to a 10in and make a box for the trunk
Speakers are good.
As far as the amp I would try to find the same one but used
Or at least one that has very similar numbers
@@SpiritDriven Got it. Thanks for your input :)
Nice set up! How did you wire it up? With your sub being 4ohm I'm guessing you ran a channel for each speaker and ran the 75 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms config?
Been running my head around building my set up and trying to gauge how much power I really need, hard when all you have is numbers.
Watching this gave me a good baseline for what will be much more power then I need as I won't crank it anywhere near that loud, super helpful I really appreciate that end test for this reason.
I'm looking at similar 100W door speakers and was worried they were only going to be getting ~65W but seems that will be plenty. 65W for each door speaker, 65W for two sets of headrest speakers, and 300W for an 8" sub built into the parcel deck.
Yeah exactly each channel running 75 per channel
Looking back I wish I upped the size of that sub! Go for a 12!
Appreciate the feedback too 🤙🏼
I have a softtop NC, could I do all these mods like you did?
Thank you I needed this
Glad we could help!!
@@SpiritDriven really appreciate ur content man, my miata is fairly fresh to me but you inspire me to make content about it, definitely the plan once I can afford more mods
@@65mustangfan4 love to hear that! And congrats to your new Yata!!
@@SpiritDriven appreciate it man I'm coming from a 335i and honestly the miata is so much more fun and usable on the street
@@65mustangfan4 people never understand it until they own one lol
335s are sick for sure
Just never liked the design engineering wise
been thinking of doing a similar set up in my miata, do you think that the parcel speakers make enough of a difference to do them for sure? im thinking of just cutting the holes into my existing parcel and im kind of hesitant on it since im new to cars. only having to pay for 2 speakers instead of 4 is a plus, but i like music so 🤷♂️
Absolutely worth it
Go for it 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Do you think a manual NA miata would make a decent daily driver? Thinking of getting one as my first car but I am not sure
1000%
I second that it's great 👍
Do you think this setup will fit in a NB2?
@@evo_tramzy4456 oh yeah 👍🏼
Idk about the rear deck speakers though, I think the panel is the same
hello! Your videos inspire me to change my Miata, now I'm trying to put a radio with a 7-inch screen but I don't have the frame for the radio, do you know where I can get it or how can I do it?
Thanks bro!!
But It should have come with one!
But Amazon sells them for cheap!

Can anyone help with suggestion on powering the amp in a 1993 miata? Currently got a 700w rms 1 ohm amp and added a supplementary batter with a 5 farad capacitor and I still have power dipping issues on high volumes… any recommendations on batteries etc?
What did you do for radio bezel?
what did yall eat after the video 10:00
Shoot probably del taco !!
Would a sub in the trunk of a Miata sound good even though the trunk is separated?
My buddy has a sub in his Miata’s trunk and it’s craaaaazy loud, but you lose the trunk space
@@SpiritDriven Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't the sub rattle the trunk a lot? Or is it not noticeable.
@@can0fbread770 tons of sound deadening 😂
Dope video and what song was that you played
Scorpions - The Zoo
such good videos, thanks!
Glad ya enjoyed it!!
in the true spirit of keeping things as light as possible, I would ditch the sub box (and separate amp) and do an integrated (6" or 8") bazooka tube w/integrated amp. either let the HU power the front speakers or get a small amp designed for UTVs to power the front. shoot, even an under seat sub is desirable at keeping mass out of the car.
Definitely going to be revamping the audio system in the future 👍🏼👍🏼
To each their own. I might settle with a shitty system since half the experience is engine and road noise and I didn’t do sound deadening…
Plus the og unit plays tapes!
Are you using the headrest speakers as well?
No l, but I do want to wire them up when I get the seats redone in leather
@@SpiritDriven would you power them from the head unit or another amp?
@@francoguillen25 well at that point we would have 8 speakers plus a sub so I would most likely run a 2nd amp for the speakers
In the market for a sound system upgrade and this is perfect , first to make that trunk clean
Yoo have you ever heard a miata sound system with a (very strong) sub in the trunk? because i want stomach shaking bass in the cabin but everyone says its not possible from the trunk. but im thinking maybe they just took 200W subs for their trunk and when i put in a 700W sub it would change it alot? Thanks alot for an answere id aprecciate it :)
I have actually! My buddy Kyle has a huge sub setup in the trunk
Super clean sound and hits pretty hard
I’d think 700 is good if it’s a true 700W
I have a 700W 8 inch 2 Ohm sub in my na Miata’s trunk and it’s deff loud enough to enjoy and rattle the neighbors.
@@gundilero01 cool! Thanks for your answere, in which direction have you put it? Like is it shooting to the trunk lid? or in the direction of the cabin?
And did you have to buy a stronger Battery or stronger Generator to make it work?
Thanks again :)
@@sorry4nothing983 I got it sideways… and the same stock battery which I’m gonna upgrade soon. I’m using the CT sounds CT400.1D which is surprising loud for a tiny guy.
@@gundilero01 Why will you upgrade it? Is it not strong enough?
Christmas wrap the car with lights for the next video
Yo I’m with it!!!!
I mean thats cool and all but I'ma need an oversized alternator to go with it. The output on the OEM one is pathetic.
True!
But we swapped everything over from halogen to LED so we have no dimming issue whatsoever and alternator is still goin strong
@@SpiritDriven 300a alt or bust!
Probably needs 50 hp just to run tho. Car gonna do 0-60 in 37 seconds with the stereo up.

So besides the amp anything else you'd change?
Really looking at the options out there but I don't have too much knowledge or the ability to reference if with anything sadly and this seems like music lover heaven :)
Ps. You're highly underrated on TH-cam imo, true quality content I actually enjoy watching :)
Appreciate the kind words it really means a lot to us 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Honestly I’m super happy with everything
If you can afford to spend a few extra bucks I’d maybe opt for a more responsive headunit
But I can live with slow response time personally
I bought a future $20k 1990 Miata about a week ago, to save gas on my commute. After I have $20k in it, I’m afraid I won’t be saving any gas😂
