    I'm usually guilty of saying, .... "well there's xx:xx minutes of my life that I'll never get back" after watching some youtube videos.
    Not with this one, it's got to be the best 27-1/2 minutes I've ever spent. Been researching many videos on exactly how to drift/troll river currents. Back years ago I had a larger 10 ft. beam boat that I used to just troll with the current to keep vertical. Recently purchased a new (smaller) 19' boat with 3 types of motors. Even though it's still going to be a learning curve for me, at least now I can say I know the critique skills to drifting with the Minn Kota. Hopefully I can get it through my thick head and adapt quickly. 😄
    Thanks,

    Thanks for the tips and knowledge. Thanks also for hopefully doing like last year, your daily update where you went on the river, how you did & colors/ tips you used. Because of finding your video last year where you shared all the details that others won't, my brother and I were able to both limit out for the first time. You helped me more than all the other guys put together and I'm truly grateful. Hope to see you on the river this year. This will be my 4th year and last year I grew so much because of your help. Truly thank you and God bless you.

    Informative video! Lot of good tips. Just a thought. I always start my jigging by pointing the nose of the boat into the wind. Also look at all the other boats and 99 percent will be pointing the same way. That’s the way to point your boat.

    • @TheOutdoorConquest

    Thanks man. This spring will be my second time on the river in Windsor. We had to figure all this out last year as we were there only for the day. That particular day was decent in the morning but really tailed off from then on. Watching the boats around us and very few were caught. Looking forward to this year hoping we slay em. I watch for updates from guys on youtube to see when the time seems right.

    This is best instructional video on jigging I have seen. I rarely like or subscribe, but did both. It is informational, straight to the point, no promoting product, and not about how great you are or pushing your brand. There is one thing I wish you included, and would love it being tagged to the end of the video. I wish you pointed out how you keep the line tight with consistent pressure, never varying the pressure or pumping the rod to reel in a fish. I try to tell people that the slightest release will result in a lost fish and they proceed to demonstrate exactly that.

    Great video's and content. I'm headed to Port Clinton April 13 to April 20th. I'm looking for Plan B for blow days. Saturday morning isn't looking good. I assume the boat ramps are packed on the weekends. Does it get to the point you can't find a parking spot in Wyondotte and Belanger? Is it easier to find a parking spot around noon or 1pm. I assume a lot of people head home around noon. Is there an Bait shops open at 6am in the area for minnows? How many jigs will a guy loss in 6 hour trip?Sorry, for all the question but we are freaking out a little...thanks.

    • @TheOutdoorConquest
      @TheOutdoorConquest  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wyandotte is a madhouse. I’ve had better luck finding parking at Ballenger. I’d wait until 1pm or so if you go later in the day because by then it starts to open back up some. Depending on where you fish you shouldn’t lose any but if your in the Trenton channel it is snaggy. Half dozen jigs would be more than enough. You’ll feel the concrete down there. Good luck and tight lines buddy!

    Nice video but you said but when you are 40 yards off shore but what depth are you fishing ?

    • @TheOutdoorConquest
      @TheOutdoorConquest  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So start maybe 50 yards or so, but be advised of the bank and any hazards. Current can blast ya right into shore. Usually around the teens to 20s is that depth. Some areas are deeper some are more shallow

    Are you able to jig for walleye from a pedal kayak? Any spots that are easy to get to from a launch? I don't have a boat but I'm dying to get some walleye.

    • @TheOutdoorConquest
      @TheOutdoorConquest  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can jig with the pedal kayak. I’ve done it on all the rivers but the Saginaw always was the best option since its current isn’t as strong. Also heard they’re getting great fish right now too

    How rough does it get on the detroit river? I’ve been trying st Clair river but once the yachts wake up it gets too rough for my boat. Also not much walleye luck. How’s the fishing around belle isle?

    • @TheOutdoorConquest
      @TheOutdoorConquest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can get rough the time of year with boat wake and south winds. Right now I think most people are using bottom bouncers with night crawlers for success

    You dont have to put a piece of plastic on your jig to hold the stinger or plastic. Put your plastic on your jig then put on your minnow then your stinger an your minnow will stay on go a few fish

    5'8 to 6'3" rods MH extra fast rods are perfect. 6'6" M & 6'8" M are too long and too light of an action in my opinion.

    • @TheOutdoorConquest
      @TheOutdoorConquest  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would agree the shorter ones can be better but for a beginner they can walk into any bass pro or store and find a 6’6”-6’8” MHF pretty easily and affordable. The more jigging specific rods can be tougher to find sometimes and more expensive it seems. Thanks for watching!
