I'm still using and watching this video on my Samsung Galaxy S7 in 2023 and it works strong and fine for me 💪 and my Dad still uses his S7 Edge in 2023 as his work phone so we both use S7's in 2023

Nice. Im about to get an s7 edge in gold
Edit: i have it and it is good but the battery life and overheating is a problem and the fact that it is a 32gb. Minumum storage u need is 64gb. otherwise its a good phone

Lol, yeah talk about durability. I have many thousands of hours on my device I got as a junior in Highschool and now still have after graduating college after almost a year ago.

    • @vecust
      @vecust 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@stardomplays1386 That's awesome! However, I spoke too soon. I broke my S7 Edge's screen 2 weeks ago. It has been dropped on the floor a bunch of times for the past 6 years, barely had a scratch on. But 2 weeks ago, that was the end of it. Screen totally messed up. It can be fixed though, I only have to buy a new screen but it's costing a lot since it's an old phone and the screen isn't easily available. Had to buy new phones. I actually bought 2 separate phones this time; Samsung Galaxy A04S for work as it feels brick solid and Galaxy S23 FE for my social use. Will try my best to get my S7 Edge fix, i'm emotionally too attached to this phone, been on a long road for almost 7 years together.

I miss owning this phone. I had one for a few years. I went from iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 13 Pro. I decided to go back to Samsung, with the S23 Ultra in October, thinking it be better than my S7. The iPhone (except for the iPhone 13 Pro) didn't feel so customizable as Android. Then I remembered how good the S7 Edge was for me. So I upgraded to the S23 Ultra from 13 Pro, and sadly it's not as good as the S7 Edge was. *Snapdragon* *8* *Gen* *3*
Looks like the Gen 3 for next year is going to be a powerhouse with 20% less power consumption. I will wait for the Flip 7 in 2025 which will have Gen 4. I'm assuming battery life for the Z Flips should cross over 20h easily by that point. But I guess in real world use for my case, at least 12h-14h SOT consistently. That's at least 2-days worth since I carry multiple phones getting about 5h-7h SOT in one depending what I'm doing on that phone.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max's battery life was only the beginning. Expect more phones in the next few years in whatever size to consistently hit over 20h SOT for web browsing and playback with 4nm or lower SoCs. Most users who aren't power users may only need to charge their phone once every 2-3 days and that's if you still practice the 80-40 rule and keep the hard cap on the Samsung to only 85% charged.

2023: 8 Gen 2 (S23s, Fold 5, Flip 5)
2024: 8 Gen 3 (S24s, Fold 6, Flip 6)
2025: 8 Gen 4 (S25s, Fold 7, Flip 7)
2026: 8 Gen 5 (S26s, Fold 8, Flip 8)
2027: 8 Gen 6 (S27s, Fold 9, Flip 9)
2028: 8 Gen 7 (S28s, Fold 10, Flip 10)

Samsung should spell the Fold 10 and Flip 10 as Fold X and Flip X. Looking at it now, I may just wait until 2028 to upgrade from my Flip 3 to Flip 10 although I've said I can use my Flip 3 for 10 years even with this awful battery life.

Phones are more powerful and efficient now but they're not as exciting as they used to be. You can buy a Samsung flagship in 2021 or 2025 and use it for 10 years even if the software support stopped after 5. I only recently bought an iPhone X which turns 6 this November and other than the degraded battery, it works really well. I'd use it as my daily driver if the speakers and reception weren't so lousy.

I think the S21 Ultra looks way better than the S22U and S23U. If you own that and don't need the S-Pen slot, you really don't need to upgrade to S23U if you're coming from that. Battery life might be weaker but is it really worth getting another after 2 years when battery life can double after 4 or 5 years?
I like the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10. But my lucky number is really 22 but I love 13 and 23 as well. My least favorite single-digit numbers are 6 and 8. Very few things I enjoy has the number 6. Maybe Final Fantasy VI, 6th gen in video games, and Wrestlemania VI. I do like 9 but not as much as 1-5, 7, and 10. Based from my experiences, I tend to be lucky with #3.
    Xiaomi Mi 3
    Samsung Galaxy Note 3
    Google Pixel 3
    Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
Apple iPhone SE (2022 or SE3)
My favorite Tekken and Metal Gear Solid games are still Part 3. Super Mario World beats 3 but narrowly. Although SMW is really Gen 3 of Super Mario. Lost Worlds, SMB2 based from Doki Doki Panic, and the Super Mario Lands games don't really count. My least favorite PlayStation is 3. Usually Part 2 of a video game is when I love it the most: Sonic 2, Mortal Kombat II, Shenmue II, etc.
Based from the numbers, I'll upgrade my Flip 3 to a 5, 7, or 10. Mostly likely 10. Or maybe as late as Flip 13 in 2031. I did say back in 2021 that I want to use phones for 10 years. I'll replace the battery on my Flip 3 by 2026. Since I use multiple phones per day, they don't degrade as quickly.
    Flip 5 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2)
    Flip 7 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 4)
    Flip 10 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 7)
    Flip 13 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 10)
By 2031 when the Flip 13 comes out, so will Android 22. That's two of my favorite numbers right there next to 10 and it should have Snap 8 Gen 10.

Watching from my s9. I do miss the s7 edge features. I enjoyed watching my phone light up from the sides when getting a message. I was very skeptical when i upgraded to my current phone cause i was afraid that i would miss the home button

Today I still use my S7 Edge special "Hong Kong market" version with dual sim and 128 Gb of internal storage. My wife has one with the same amount of storage but made for the "UAE market" and our 2 kids got the S7 for the European market with standard 32 Gb of storage and yes, they *did* complain that was not quite enough for them, so I gave them both a micro SD card of 256 Gb for their phones. Problem solved. ;-)
These phones can use 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE, so we are still well covered and we have not had any bad display glitches or whatever. I also do not recognise the overheating problem mentioned by others here, but I do have to say we all have "Power Saving" (under settings) on at all times, maybe that helps. It certainly helps us get stellar battery life, so even after all these years (8 by now, holy moly) my battery has an estimated capacity of 74 percent left and I can easily make it through the day. It all depends so much on how you use your phone. I never fastcharge it for example, because that would have degraded my battery a lot quicker. The only thing I can say anno 2024 is that modern phones come with a more capable camera, but other than that I am not missing anything. It remains my daily driver, even though I could not resist now ordering an S24 Ultra. But I'll be playing with that expensive toy when I'm home, on the couch or in bed. ;-)
No point exposing that one to the elements just yet.
So yeah, for anyone in doubt, you can definitely use and keep using an S7 (Edge)n phone anno 2024 ! Or give it to your kids for school and for teaching them the value of money and the value of things.

This phone was the coolest phone and still looks really cool. The all screen phones now make them all look the same. The edge screens look so cool. I had a 7edge in gold which I loved. The only issue was the thumbprint reader button on the front had cheap paint and started to wear off within a year taking away from the beauty of the phone. I actually never finished paying off this phone and At&T still in 2024 is still trying to collect. lmao. I usually keep all my old phones, but had to sell this for money, but wish I had kept this beauty. I keep all my old phones in good running shape from back to 2002.

I had such bad luck with this phone, it had dead pixels, cracked the screen multiple times from short drops. It was curse for me. I could not wait to get rid of it. I had my S9 plus for 2 year with no issues and Note 10 plus after that and still using it now.

That’s crazy, mine got run over by some cars after it fell out of my pocket a few years ago. I only had a case with no screen protector and it survived with no damages. Technically it still works to this day but it melted my case with the heat it produces 😂
