I just want to go on record saying that this is one of the best phones that Samsung has ever made.
I really wish that they would make a new version of this phone like they did with the S6 lite tab. Even now this one performs incredibly! You can game on this phone and in my opinion Android 13 is just the same thing as 12 with a tiny face-lift.
I'd take this one over any of the s10 series! You have to own it to see why it's so great!

Mad how good the SD855 chip still is (I have an iQOO Neo 855) 4 years on. It performs way better than the 2022/23 budget phones and mid-rangers, and on a par with the current premium mid-rangers. Still more than comfortable to use in almost any use case really. It's sad that these phones don't get updates or patches any more, but if you don't care about that I think they are fine to use for a few years yet,

I'm pretty sure I got mine in 2019, and yes, it is a solid phone, zero regrets! Battery life I remember being really great at the start, wish I remembered how long I felt it was going strong for, but unfortunately with me definitely overcharging it, and really, just not being the best with battery care knowledge, I'm lucky to get half a day out of it with minimal use. Especially when traveling, I need to have one of those battery bank chargers with me or I'm left stranded within hours, just having something like the train schedule open and maybe a few glances at google maps even on max battery saving mode....poof, dead.
I'll have to see what I want to upgrade to, I certainly would like a better camera, battery life needs to be really good, but honestly, I just want to make sure I can have a phone for years, I am not a new tech jumper, I want to use the life out of something before upgrading. I've heard some good things about the A54, and the pixel (6a as well as 7) and some of the older S series, but I am stuck with not knowing what would be the beefiest upgrade in terms of holding onto it for years.... Part of the downside of having a phone for so long, is so many options are an obvious upgrade to what I have now, but there's some hidden flops that I know I would be disappointed in.

I bought this phone this year (2023 refurbished) specifically for a few reasons. One, I don't like large bulky phones. This phone is similar in size to my previous phone. Two, the price for the refurbished phone I bought was $134 which very reasonably priced for a refurbished phone with all the specs on this phone. I didn't wanna spend $600-$1000 on a new phone. Third, I don't play high resolution games on my phone (I play card type games). I mostly watch TH-cam for video, Facebook, Snapchat, Google type apps etc., so the video quality is just fine. I don't care about the Software updates anymore. I used a much older phone that stopped software updates for years lol. I do like security updates though. It's a far higher upgrade from my previous phone, so far I'm happy.

I love this phone so much, i bought mine in November of 2019 and i havent looked back since. The expandable storage is great, on top of the 256 in it's internal storage. The display is just the right size for me. I don't have very big hands, so this is much easier for me to manuver on. It's sturdy so i don't need that bulky of a case to protect it, just a clear cover and a screen protector does the trick. However, I can tell that after 4 years of using it, the battery is starting to tank on me unfortunatly and I can't help but notice the once very good camera turn into potato quality footage and photos compared to all of the phones that have come out since then. I've been hoping and praying that Samsung would come out with a phone just like this with a higher battery wattage and better camera BUT also the same size for about a year now but I don't think that its ever going to come sadly. I say all that to say, that I would like to upgrade my battery life and camera but i want to keep all the other amazing perks of this phone. ESPECIALLY the 5.8" size. The largest i'm willing to go screen wise is 6.1", but its been a challenge trying to find something with 1. Expandable Storage 2. Earphone Jack (don't think that will ever happen again honestly) 3. 5.8-6.1" Screen size 4. Side figerprint lock button all with decent updates and androids software. I'll keep looking though!

what would be a comparable 2023 phone to the S10e. I am getting really discouraged with all of the phNablets being produced that are called phones. I want a phone, not a laptop/tablet. I am still rockin an iPhone 5s as my "daily driver". But that certainly has become quite clunky. I am looking for a powerful compact phone. Looked at the iPhone 13 mini, but way to pricey. The S10e would be the max size I am interested in. What would be an appropriate android phone should I be looking at that will last through to 2025/27 ? Powerful, longevity, but on a budget.

Just get the s10e.. there's nothing that fits your criteria like the s10e and sd855 is still plenty powerful and doesn't have the overheating issues of the sd8 gen 1 series.

    I upgraded to a iPhone 12 Pro.
Had my iPhone for two years now and I regret my decision every day since.
My personal option iPhone is garbage.
    No multitasking
    No sd
    No aux
    No split screen
    No reverse charging.
I can not believe how many features are dropping with every new release. iPhone is the worst and Samsung is following apples footsteps
Cloud storage is my biggest grip with all new phones. How are they going to release 8k video and then take away storage. 5 years of 8k video storage is going to be mad expensive to keep up with. Cloud storage is cheap now. I’d say 5 years it will be more expensive than the phone bill/internet bill.

    • @dialaprohq
      @dialaprohq ปีที่แล้ว

Just to add to my rant every year they add new features to gather data.
      1. call and text data
      2. Photos and video
      3. Fingerprint
      4. Face recognition
      5. Iris detection
      6. Watches heart rate, blood pressure, sleep, stand and even washing hands
Now people agree to just upload everything to the cloud where if company gets hacked all your stuff is open.

I really don't get need to swipe up on iphone end iPads. My ipad pro drives me nuts! I have to wake it up, the. Orient it to my face, then even swipe up. Terrible! Anyways. I also see new Samsungs don't have SD card slot.. bad.. I just got 256 on top of my 128 internal memory!!
Just battery ist great anymore. USB c slot has some problems for charging, even if I always used wireless charging.. also a bit sluggish, but I think with a riser the 10e will turn back to snappy!! Hope it will serve me still for a while. I might grab a new one just in case..

It's better than the fe line (fu) like they used the same material as their top-notch phones the fe looks cheaper feels cheaper, and uses a plastic back, uses mediocre cameras, uses cheaper display tech like the s10e does look cheaper than the s10 just when u compare these two the s10e looks very slightly cheaper realistically it's only $50 cheaper than the s10 if u factor the smaller screen being $100 cheap for $50, your sacrificing telephoto lens camera and a flatter display which is 2k instead of 3k when I look at s20 fe or s21 fe the differences are much bigger u can tell these phones are cheaper and they feel cheap. They need to bring down of the s23 the to $699 without making any cuts like it already as a flat display which is 1080p and it would put competition for the pixel 7 which is $599. If your in the budget I'd say get the s21 or s22 u can find the s22 for under $400 and the s21 is slowly being a $200 phone I was able to find as low as $189 and sold it for $450 like these phone lower in price so fast and they are premium for awhile making it better for consumer like I can't imagine selling an s20fe or s21fe for over $300 those phones look and feel cheap they don't feel like flagship smartphones. I already have the s21 ultra but I managed to buy the s22 ultra for low $300s and sold it for $659. Like u can't find competition with the s21 series or the s22/s22+ even the s22+ u can find for $450 and it beats any $500, $600 or some $700 smartphones and few $800 smartphone still has features that alot modern phones don't have like 8k recording, the ultra since s20 having 100× zoom even something like the s20 which u can find for around the $150 price Tag has 8k recording and the s10+ which is exynos has 8k 30 which snapdragon phones of today still lacks like the s22 ultra

In 6 months the battery needed replacing and because they glue them together, you must heat the phone up to get the back off, and then heat up again, to get the battery out of the phone. I hated the Bixby feature. And taking pictures with it was a nightmare. If you push the button too hard the picture would not take, or if you didn't push it hard enough, it would not take. . You had to push it just so so. I lost a lot of good pictures. Myself, I went back to a flip phone. No more smartphones for me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
