Ben Gehre just go for the iPhone, its faster and have a great battery life (atleast the plus version) and u'll be sure to get iOS newest features because u'll get updates as soon as they are realized and for a long time atleast for 4 years

I like that the S7 has more features, like multi-window, scrolling screenshots, fast charging (!!!), I like the design better (especially the Note7's), and there are a few other small things. The cameras are kinda iffy; Samsung's overprocessing and oversharpening and very noticeable to me and I absolutely hate it- I used to have an S6 and I actually prefer both cameras on it over the S7. But overall, I would recommend the S7 to anyone over the iPhone if they didn't rely on iOS exclusive services like I do.

Mine was amazing when I got it. It's a ton less snappy now and I've also noticed a decrease in battery life.

I actually did bring it in. The rep said I could sent it in but if they didn't find anything wrong with it then they would just mail it back and I would be without a phone for a week for no reason.
So, I upgraded to a 7 Plus and gave the edge to my dad. He used to have an iPhone 5c, so it was a pretty good upgrade for him.

Battery is superior in my experience going from S7 Edge to iPhone 7+.
Display is very similar and crisp on both considering the iPhone 7+ renders near 2560x1440 and downsampled to 1080p.
Updates are superior on iPhone7+. Good luck getting Nougat on your Samsung phone.

I hate reviews like this. The truth is the S7 is better. The iPhone is a regular phone and to get the most out of it you need to spend over 1000 dollars. You get all that you need and want from the S7 for damn near 300 dollars or more less. The speed can be fixed with updates and the lag can be fixed by turning of animations as well as just wiping you phones memory every few months. You can set it to do it automatically or to remind you as well. The truth is the S7/Note 7 is better. I can go on and elaborate on why.

For those of you asking, yes, video stabilization is active on the Galaxy S7 edge. We have noticed it get a bit jittery since around two software updates ago, almost as bad as the warping we saw on the Note 7. We decided not to criticize it give how well it's performed in the past. Hopefully it'll be back to normal soon. ^JR
he is afraid thats why. When you are in favour of iPhone you will have many dislikes in your videos. And he obviously hasnt run geekbench 3 to see which one is more powerful. And more saturated colours mean worse image quality. Like samsung and sony are stupid that they dont use OLED displays in their TVs.

Actually video stabilization option(which is EIS) is the culprit that make video jittery (especially in low light). Turn it off and use OIS only and jittery won't appear. (but less stabilization for large movement because OIS only do so much).

But what's the point if there is no palm rejection. Phone screens are not like Tvs or pc monitors, phone screens made to be interactive, bezels do a great job at physically preventing palm input when using the device, functionality always comes over how sexy the edge to edge screen may look. Again, Samsung just has another gimmick that is barely done properly in a flagship device.
Samsung fixed the palm detection with Note 7. I'm not a fan of the S7 Edge's screen, but you don't have to grow huge iPhone-like bezels either. There are lots of phones with smaller bezels than iPhone without getting unintended inputs.
Marcel Diezasch I was honestly really taken by how good looking the Edge to Edge screen looked the first time I saw it on the Galaxy s6. But the minute you hold it you basically cover 50%, and it just didn't seem functional at that moment. The best palm rejection out there I must admit goes to the iPad Pro, that thing has it nailed in every possible way.

I have both phones, they both have their merits. In terms of consistency (without any software tinkering) the iphone 7/plus wins in my book. However, the ceiling for its potential is not super high (but greatly optimized) Any user that is willing to take the time to get into the knitty gritty of the software side of things and modify stuff to their liking, the S7 edge will do them well. I will admit that touchwiz that comes from the box is more on the slow side, but that can easily be mitigated by another launcher like Google Now/Nova Launcher.
In short, if you just want a good functional phone without having to do anything complicated that will remain consistent for a while the iphone 7 is for you. Anyone that is willing to burn extra time to further optimize and customize the software on their phone with extra benefits like expandable storage, wireless charging, etc, get the S7 Edge.

I use a S7 Edge since a week after the launch day and I'm extremely satisfied with it as my first Samsung phone. Before that I used for almost two year a Sony Xperia Z2, also an amazing phone but I was only very much satisfied and not extremely satisfied.
The iPhone 7S seems to be an amazing phone but it is to bulky an heavy for my taste. I would prefer the smaller model instead between the two iPhone models.

Those Plus model from Apple are always among the heaviest and bulkiest phones around. Even versus some 5.7'-6' phones.
Maybe on cold days it is ready to carry a heavy phone but on summer.... my shorts pockets can't handle an plus model when I walk, much less if I plan to do a basic jogging.

People will fight their way to win a pointless argument, that we all know that they only do to justify the amount of money they expend in a device and now they can't accept that other device might do better at some points.
Some will claim their Android is miraculously lag free, even though we all know about the eventual frame drop or bug down, and we know that the phone isn't reacting to commands instantly a 100% of the times. Some people might accept the lag by saying it's not a lag at all arguing that's just the time the system need to process it. For me, noticeable time between action and reaction is lag.
And iPhone users will fight that they don't need all those features available on the galaxy, because it's all stupid, but we all know once Apple introduced it in their iPhone, a few years from now, they will be amazed that they lived without it.

Android doesn't lag, though. Ever since Project Butter came with Android Jellybean, the UI is fluent and lag free, proven by my stupid 2011 Moto Droid (unless I've been taking the processor to much) that I'm forced to live with until I can decide on the V20 or the Pixel XL. The only time you'll see lag nowadays, is if you're using some shitty Chinese skin, or something, especially with low-end chipset from something stupid like Mediatek.
Android doesn't lag? HAH, as if. My Z1 with sd800 still lag sometimes, and even my OP3 jerk a bit even when I just bought it. Android is a lot better nowadays, both software and hardware wise, but I still have to admit that the lag is still there, comparing it to iPhone.

Would go with the iPhone, I have the S7 Edge but ordered the 7 Plus a week ago. S7 is really good looking and has a good screen I've got to give it that but personally I hated the user experience. I've had several Android phones and iPhones before, and I've gotta say that if you want certain things from your phone and you want them well optimized and done, go for the iPhone. If you want more choice and don't want to settle for somewhat limited but really well crafted set of features, it's Android.
I'm android all the way, but that's cuz I like changing everything how I like it. For most people, I'd say the S7's hardware is WAY better and (for most) IOS is better software. I get up to two days on one charge with power saving mode and a week on ultra with my S7 and if something gets on it I can just go to a drinking fountain (the 7 can too). Multiwindow is AMAZING. You can have them floating too, not just half and half like the video. And poortaiwanese, it's been 4 months and it's running full speed. Clean your cache every once in a while and you'll be fine or turn off/speed up animations in Dev options - it's actually much faster.

I'm curious as to why this was done with the 7 Plus vs the S7 Edge when the pricepoint of the iPhone 7 Plus puts it more in league with the Note 7, and that'd be a more "fair" comparison imo. The S7 Edge is quite old in comparison (released in March of 2016), despite the minute differences in specs, the Note 7 does have it's noticable advantages (more base storage, the SPen funcitonality). I've never seen the point in comparing things that, by default, are not supposed to be equals.

We are waiting on our Note 7 replacement unit for a proper comparison. Still, if you think of it, the difference between the Note 7 and the S7 Edge are pretty much the Wacom digitizer, storage minimums, and a new software skin. The rest of the specs are nearly the same, so no, this would not be an "unfair" comparison ^JR

You have to make sure Video Stabilization is turn on in S7 camera settings since it's off by default,only God know why someone would want OIS off. Samsung need to be like a Apple when it comes to knowing what's best for consumers & leave certain features on & out of reach for your average users.
Actually, this also surprised me, but it's been that way since two software updates ago. I assume it's only temporary, and it's the reason why I don't complain. ^JR

color accuracy > color saturation
Color accuracy isn't the most important on a phone. It's more important on a work station display for graphic designer and photographer.
On a phone, clarity in displaying contents is more important (and saturation helps with that).
Plus, you can change the color profile on the Galaxy to make it more accurate anyways.

From my experience it's not the most power efficient display (probably because it's powering lots of pixels.) but it's the best looking one for sure. And I have removable battery that I can swap out on the spot so I don't really mind much on battery usage haha.

Here's what every review leaves out. You can only buy a S7 in the 32gb model in the US. They try to ease your mind by saying you can get a 256gb expandable memory (for $250) card but what they also leave out is the fact that they took away the option to move apps to the SD card. So by getting a S7 you can only download about 30-40 apps and then your stuck. What a pitty.

im a s7 edge user and i love the phone. after 7mos tho, after a small update my screen became glitchy (green black lines) then boom defective screen. samsung repair center said they will replace the lcd. dont get me wrong, the phone can do a ton shit and its a huge part of my everyday life. just a bit disappointing about the quality of it. my friend told me not to install updates because he has this theory that updates makes the phone slow and all. kinda true tho lol. what i miss about the iphone: siri is better, endurance in the long run, and imessage. other than that, the edge beats the iphone in all other aspects. btw the video comparison at the end, the edge is not like that at all. its way better than that wtf. the low light pics on the s7 is a beast. the best one ive seen in a phone.
People recommend you fac reset it every 4 months or so. Make sure to get all your data from ur games and transfer ur pics to a pc or laptop.
I get that this is an old comment, but I hate the s7's low light. I used a google pixel for a few weeks (had to return it) and it wiped the fucking floor in comparison to other 2016 phones

and for "content consumption", don't forget that with the dual edge, you get distorted images on the edges as a major disadvantage too.
I stopped watching when I came to games and software because you can do way more with the galaxy. Like game recording and game center.... Way better than iPhone. Look at those bezel at the iPhone. Making a review is comparing the real deal and not what's on the paper.
Your last sentence is ironic, as that's exactly what goes against Samsung phones. They might have high tech specs but the software experience isn't as smooth in the end.
This is coming from someone who hates Apple and iOS, before you think I'm defending Apple here. But between these two the Plus just offers a more a better, more fluid experience where at least the software is concerned.

Zagg recently redesigned the glass screen protector for the S7 edge, I am currently using one shortly after buying it at one of their kiosks. It is really good, it doesnt pop out at all.

the hardware button on the S7 provide a safe grip zone. all you have to do is hold it by the chin toward the center in landscape mode over the button and it feels comfortable and its very easy. it's a much better implementation than just having an inert chin with onscreen buttons because you don't lose any screen space at all. the hardware button also provides the slick ability to simply pinch pinch and pull. by double pressing the home button in your pocket by the time you pull the phone out to aim it's all ready in camera mode and ready to capture the shot. this is the fastest way to activate the camera on the industry.

Did you watch Austin Evans, his 7 plus broke in a bole of water, same happened to another TH-cam. And the test by everythingapplepro the iPhone clearly has water in it. It just didn't short circuit yet.

Watch it again the Samsung is shaking bad and you can see it focusing and refocusing with each step. The IPhone is solid. Even the reviewer gives it to the IPhone.
