      Hi Scotty.
      I noticed that the smallest engines in a car you can find today in North America, are engines like the Ecoboost 1.0L.
      Is there a reason why 800cc engine cars are no longer being produced here?

Oil changed every 8,000 miles. No engine problems whatsoever. Just changed the spark plugs for the second time, spark wires changed for the first time. New struts at 170,000 miles. Scotty, you always amaze me! You make repairing a vehicle "look" so easy! It must be all those years of experience. I really miss two things in my life, riding my motorcycles and working on cars. Mostly minor maintenance. However, during Operation Enduring Freedom I was hurt, and three of my buddies killed. It left me with some major pain and mobility issues. I am able to walk after 6 months of physical therapy, but no long can work on stuff. I can barely restring and play my guitar, sitting down of course. But, thank you for sharing your videos with the rest of us. I love to watch them and I love your positive attitude and smiling animals! Take care my friend.

    My motor month broke, I took it to a private garage, these guys were highly recommended. $300.00 plus labor for the t bone, paid drove out and came right back, opened the hood and oops, they forgot to tighten it! I never went back there again. So now I go up the street to a father and son shop, father really knows what he is doing, they change my oil and rotate my tires all for $30.00. (I bring my own oil and filter). I've used Castrol Synthetic oil for over 30 yrs and never had issues. Now I too have a Camry, had the oil done back in Sept of 2019, had surgery (I had some surgery/doing good) had a friend drive the car so it wouldn't sit there to long. It's now 2020, Covid19, and I drive it, no problems. Best car I ever bought. I hope I can find another one even if it has 120,000 on it. It's a great car! NO RUST anywhere!!! It has over 250,000 miles on it, runs like its new! Inside is clean, and outside. Not a garage kept vehicle.

That dog bone engine mount only goes out when the main one has to much play in it, it doesn't just go out like that one did. This is because the customer will come back and complain that he still has an oil leak, you will tell him oh I only replaced the front one and not the back, now there's another couple hours it is over at your house working on it when you could have replaced it with it there already.

    Toyota just changed the game (how I wrecked my Celica)

  • @MicRuLerZ

    My first car was a 1992 Toyota Vista VX with 290,000 miles that matched my age but ran great despite having oil baked into thick crunchy chips in the head and corroded water jacket that leaked into a cylinder, I discovered while fixing an oil gasket leak. Over the years, I changed a worn distributor cap, failed radiator top tank, front wheel bearings, and the occasional blown radiator hose. I did my own work and gained mad respect for the older Toyota 4 cylinders. I retired the car when it would die when I splashed in a puddle and wouldn't restart until after you sat patiently for 5-10mins and try again. There would be no water in the engine bay. I never found the problem.

    At 100,000 miles, that oil may be old enough to mine for diamonds.

      That is not how diamonds work. In fact, the longer you wait, the more diamond decomposes.

      @@A_Box Diamonds decompose? That's news to me. Other than extreme heat, what causes them to decompose?

    • @A_Box
      @A_Box 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephenarling1667 Nothing. Heat just accelerates the process. The structure itself is not stable at room temperature and 1 atmosphere. It just takes very long to do so.
