- step by step instructions on how to make my favourite dim sum item at home - shrimp cheung fun. this is the home version so it's relatively time consuming. i certainly don't have one of those huge steaming trays in my kitchen. these are best served steaming hot, right away with a sweet soy sauce

Hi Dave, thanks for the Steamed Rice Roll video. By watching your video demonstration, you used 1 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1/2 cup tapioca starch, 4 cups of room temperature water and 1 tablespoon oil to make the batter. Please advise if this is what you used in your video demonstration to produce the same result as your steamed rice rolls. Thank you
those are the correct amounts! the mixture will appear to be very watery when you mix everything (will still pretty much be the consistency of water except white) but that's how it should be, hope it turns out well for you! thanks for watching!
Hi Dave, thanks for your prompt reply! Now that you have confirm the recipe, I will give it a try. 👌
I like it when instead of fresh shrimp they would substitute dry shrimp or what we call ha mai. I was told this roll is called fahn sua. 😊
dry shrimp sounds delicious
What's the measurement of your sheet pan?
8.5" x 6.5" or 21.5cm x 16.5cm
Thank you! Do you have the link or let me know where you got it? Can't wait to try this.
I had trouble buying the pan, I finally bought one at a kitchen ware shop. Now I’m looking for the plate holder, to lift the pan out of the steamer.🤷🏼♀️
It would be good if you could list out measurements of the ingredients in English below all your videos.
thanks for watching, i will work on that
Thank you, they looked really good. But correct measurements would help greatly . Cheers 😊
The composition of cheung fun is not right.
thanks dave
