Film composers are different from other composers. They need to do what the film creator wants, the film creator usually uses a temp track that's the starting point, sometimes the creator falls in love with the temp track. Listening to this and Star Wars side by side, I would say it's inspiration, but not a copy. I'd like to also point out, I've composed for a small film, that was how I worked with the director that way and did further research to see that's a common practice. Korngold was probably given Dvorjak, Holst, and Hansen as temp tracks (which also tend to draw a lot of comparisons to Star Wars).

I, and others, are grateful for this upload, the only other live performance on TH-cam is a little over 2 minutes of this great score. So thank you, BUT!, why, Oh, why do people film things with the phone in the vertical position? - we do not see the world that way, and it's why movies and TV use a landscape (wide, not narrow) format no matter what the screen size. Except for when the subject of the video demands a vertical image, ROTATE THE PHONE 90 DEGREES and get a result more consistent with how our eyes see things,
Well it so happens that my mother managed to put down her phone like this, balancing it on the railing in front of her seat, trying to film me playing this wonderful music. There was no intention to film the concert for the sake of putting it on youtube for others to enjoy, but rather to commemorate this moment of me playing the music of my favourite filmmusic composer. So you either can cherish this moment in whatever position it is filmed, or look for another recording of the same quality of performance, which doesnt exist here on youtube… 🙃
@@Lucky_AL That, of course, is a totally valid reason for recording the performance in that way - sharing it with others via TH-cam was secondary, and, as I implied, I'm happy having it this way rather than not at all. And my comment allows for your choice to record in the vertical orientation (first part of last sentence). Might I add 2 further comments: the sound quality was surprisingly good considering the limitations of how it was recorded; and, I'm envious (in the good sense of 'envy') of you getting to play in an orchestra presenting this great music. From the positioning of the image, I guess you are in the strings although there are brass & tymp behind the string sections there. I have been almost a life-time admirer of Korngold and to participate in an orchestra playing his music would be heaven (I play piano - definitely amateur - and his sonatas are just a little beyond me).
