This is harder than it looks, but this video actually helped me like, visualize what I need to be doing when I practice my sweeps, are they perfect yet? Hell no, but this really really helped me.
@@joshpointoh it could also be a Firefly. My local music shop sells them. Just discovered them for the first time actually. They also look like fancy Les Pauls. For all I know they are, I haven't tried them but given that they have the same body and headstock style that could be the Brand as well. Every single one was REALLY pretty and when I asked about the ones my guy had he said that the ones he sells are the stock guitars from Firefly. Could also be that or you could also be correct. Either way any custom or flashy finish or accents doesn't affect the sound. I believe it is of that Les Paul Family because I DO have experience with those. Way too many "Guitar skill that takes time and patience to master but is "taught" as though its actually easy" videos on here. Don't take the shortcuts kids. He gave you a simple explanation but simple isn't synonymous with easy. Its a good trick to get you excited to learn the guitar but try not to forget to LEARN the guitar and not learn to hate and dread practicing. You'll need breaks and time to think, even from things you love.
I see comments on here about his technique being sloppy, but is that not how you're gonna sound when you first learn sweep picking? Give the guy a break. He can probably sweep better than you. Otherwise, why are you watching this video?
WRONG. Your right hand is doing it wrong imho, you are not supposed to change your picking angle when doing down strokes and up strokes. This sounds very bad

Agree with you. Either too much distortion to get right articulation. Or this is just the most embarrassing video on sweeping.
Just stick to Bernth …
@charlimini849 Bradley Hall as well
It’s that tone it’s doing an insane disservice not sure what’s causing it but it’s insanely muddy like a neck pickup

Great. I can use this to learn the guitar solo for Genesis’ “Dancing with the Moonlit Knight”.

Great video. Please make more videos teaching sweep picking
Gotta love that jazz iii
Clean those frets.
Sweeping seems incredibly hard, but its actually one of the easiest shredding techniques to get right early on
I can't watch this video because I'm hung up on how filthy his fretboard is. Wash your hands more than once a week son.
I've mastered this, but it's on my air guitar! 🎸
You had a lot of unwanted stringnoise in that first clip
This was actually helpful
That took me a lot longer than 60 seconds to learn how to do.
You remind me of a very young Frank Gambale, a monster sweep picker from long ago
Sweeping has been the bane of my guitar playing existence.
Nice guitar! What model is what?
Schecter solo-II custom with some sequins stuck on it.
@ my nephew just bought a schecter last week! How ironic. Thanks for the info!
Can we get how to sound like dre dimura? I just got ur tabs for digital delerium and I wanna play it with ur tone.
Can you do that on an acoustic guitar? I didn't think so.

You're playing is extremely sloppy. You're not really in a position to teach anyone how to sweep(properly)
