Psyco Mantis Hahahahaa, je me souviens c'était le port n°#4 qui marchait le mieux sur MGS twin snakes.... Je l'ai vu le type qui a fait le walk en français nous l'a montré. The guy who made the walk in french whow this egg.
By the way, I'm not sure how many people know this, but the GEKKO can be distracted by throwing an empty magazine until the Mark III opens the door. Depending on the difficulty and all, as long as you have plenty of empty magazines to throw just throw a magazine at the farthest corner close to the bottom of the stairs. When the GEKKO turns around throw another one in the same spot and repeat until the doors open if you're low on ammo or don't have the right gun to take out a GEKKO.
also at the end when you fight liquid ocelot if you die instead of saying continue/exit says continue/exist and if you choose exist you can hear liquid sayin "its not over yet"
I recently found a small EE at Shadow Moses. Use the right analog stick to move the camera overhead. Keep it like that for a while and Old Snake will will credit you for reminding him of the old times, since the MGS camera was mostly overhead.
The Mk. III's power source can only handle one thing at a time, trying to use both the arm and the stealth mode would quickly drain its power, also the fact having multiple programs going at once would also put a major strain on the system, making it stall. That's what I think at least.
@Puferu its refering to the lifes you play before getting killed. so for instance, you start a lvl and go thru it and get killed, you restart right? when you restart, snake feels like he just had a dream of dying. so ur previeous play is like a dream to him.
It makes perfect sense that Otacon can't hack the door without being able to see because the robot isn't an extension of his body. I was pointing out that comparing the act of remotely typing with a robot hand with something as intuitive as eating doesn't make any sense. Ten months ago.
The best way I kept the Gekko at bay from the Mk. III the first time was by throwing all the empty ammo clips and used them as a distraction. When I replayed it and got the Railgun, or the .50 cal rifle, I just took it out right there and then.
You know what the funny thing is? When I first started that Mantis fight, I pressed the PS button and tried doing what I did in the first MGS. Didn't work, but it was a great laugh. Ha ha ha.
i think you do it by connecting the PS3 to a DVD player or something like that, play the game by using it like you normally do but use the AV channel that you use the DVD player for to see the TV display, switch on the DVD player if you haven't switched it on already and record whatever you want to record on a rewritable disc. after you recorded it, you should copy the footage from the disc to the computer. i have not tried this myself but this should work. if you did not understand, reply.
i spotted a typo! during the second death talk with rose he says "ill have to be more careful when i see enemies with guns" (5:00) and yet it says "an enemies" and this doesn't even make sense
when you fight psycho mantis in mgs1 he can "read your mind/contoller" so to beat him you have to plug the controller into the second port so that he couldn't read your moves
So many reasons to say MGS is the best video game series. Story, gameplay, graphics. But in my opinion, the best is it's ability to break the fourth wall.
@410weezy just gotta listen more it pretty much tells you what to do. It controls the nanomachines inside you so nuetralize them with a syringe then u can shoot take out 1 of the dolls use it against it easy win
whoa... i havn't played MGS in a long time and i'm kinda lost in the story. Sigint is the DARPA chief in part one? cool. and when and how did did Gray Fox kill Paramedic?
u remember when Otacon told Snake to change the disc in the first part, and Snake didn't know what the hell he was talking about, thats wierd, cause he understand perfectly clear what Roy mean when he tells him to "change the controller port" :P
this is weird, for some reason whenever i try to reasign the controller, the controller settings thing never pops up when i hold down the ps button. (I do know that if u want to beat screaming mantis u can't change the controller. i've beaten mgs 4 like 4 times already.)
u have to use the syringe to get the puppet strings off u, shoot the dolls then later in the fight after mantis loses the dolls u have to use one of them against him
i didn't get the one with "switching controller number" was there a bug on a boss of the first MGS where you change controller and he dies or something? o.0
Alright, this time I KNOW you missed something. If you call Rosemary again during the fight with Mantis, Campbell will interrupt again to tell you to take some tape off the busts that show Mantis's face.
The joke behind the controllers goes back to "Metal Gear Solid" for the PS1. When you fight Mantis for the first time, he counters everything you do automatically. If you call Campbell enough, he'll tell you to unplug your controller from port 1 to port 2. Once you did that, you could hurt and eventually beat Mantis. But in this game, the controller is wireless, and you can't do the same trick twice. lol That's the joke, hope that helped ya ~
no, mantis was known for reading only the LEFT side of the brain AKA CONTROLLER PORT 1, switching it to the RIGHT SIDE AKA PORT 2 was how to beat mantis
The way the characters talk, they blatantly treat the situation as a video game, rather than a "fourth wall" barrier that seperates the audience (the player) from the events onscreen.
ok seen those.there are plenty more u missed like the one you get afther killing all wolwes.and many times get told of by otocon diffrent ways if you knok out the resistance members
"Mmmmm Ice cream... Tasty!" Old Snake saying that line pretty much made my entire life.
When I saw that screen change to HIDEO, my controller was on #2 faster than you could say "foxdie"
that my dear sir, is called "breaking the 4th wall". but all the Metal Gear games combined completely DEMOLISHED THE WALL!!!!!!!
Nobody says "Tasty" like David Hayter.
New Age Retro Hippie
I can't find that, pls help
Totally agree.
˝Whats up, doc?˝ Looney Toons Bugs Bunny reference!
Pushing the PS button while fighting Mantis was the first thing i did. Then Rosemary said that wouldn't work. Boy i feel stupid back then.
Same here bro.
Ishikawa Kun same :/
hideo, why did you cut Roses hair shorter?
What does Colonel mean by,"we defeated him" he didn't do anything
Xavier Hernandez Oh, Colonel, you crack me up, you big kidder!
+Liutenant Lama Support on the Codec, Of Course
Liutenant Lama heres your 3 year late response.
Colonel tells you about the ports thus giving you a way to defeat him.
Now I want to see Snake eating an icecream cone! But with all his gear and eye patch! XD
Lol it was all dramatic too! XD
"WE'VE MANAGED TO AVOID DROWNING!"
Psyco Mantis
Hahahahaa, je me souviens c'était le port n°#4 qui marchait le mieux sur MGS twin snakes....
Je l'ai vu le type qui a fait le walk en français nous l'a montré.
The guy who made the walk in french whow this egg.
You're not alone. I seriously thought the game was haunted and was made with black magic.
@Detsurasu just fyi. it's not foxdie. as naomi says, it's his natural lifespan, since he was a clone, he was purposefully created that way.
also
at the end when you fight liquid ocelot if you die instead of saying continue/exit says continue/exist and if you choose exist you can hear liquid sayin "its not over yet"

lol the codec Otacon gives about the controller switch was jokes. To add that in there was a pretty neat touch!
The Mk. III's power source can only handle one thing at a time, trying to use both the arm and the stealth mode would quickly drain its power, also the fact having multiple programs going at once would also put a major strain on the system, making it stall. That's what I think at least.

i do not know, but it is so...how do i describe this? calming, yet battle-like.
It makes perfect sense that Otacon can't hack the door without being able to see because the robot isn't an extension of his body. I was pointing out that comparing the act of remotely typing with a robot hand with something as intuitive as eating doesn't make any sense.
Ten months ago.
0:56 Wait. If you have to change the ports, how the hell do you beat Mantis if you're playing MGS on a PSP? xD
@adrianying She is a psychologist, specializing in on how the battlefield affects the mind.
Screaming Mantis. The part of the song you hear is taken from Mantis' Hymn, from MGS1.
The Best Is Yet To Come and it can be found on the MGS Soundtrack.
The best way I kept the Gekko at bay from the Mk. III the first time was by throwing all the empty ammo clips and used them as a distraction. When I replayed it and got the Railgun, or the .50 cal rifle, I just took it out right there and then.
@IXISkeithIXI House16 is now Offline

"Ice cream.Tasty!" LMAO
2:55 - 3:06
A take on MGS1's Game Over?
After hearing Snake say, "What's up, doc?", I won't be able to watch a Bugs Bunny cartoon without thinking of this game.
i spotted a typo! during the second death talk with rose he says "ill have to be more careful when i see enemies with guns" (5:00) and yet it says "an enemies" and this doesn't even make sense
Soo if you have to change ports....what happens to the ps vita game version??
The vita gives you an option when you bring up the settings
3:07 seeing snake's life flash before his eyes was a nice touch
Try shaking the controller when speaking with rosemary...
CoolLuigi12345 SHAKING BREASTS LOL
CoolLuigi12345 dem tits
The cool thing about dying in Act 4, is it plays the same game over music as MGS1, only a little remixed.
ahaha i love when snake goes "What the Hell?! Whose DUmb Idea was that?" lmfao xP
when you fight psycho mantis in mgs1 he can "read your mind/contoller" so to beat him you have to plug the controller into the second port so that he couldn't read your moves
eating while cleaning a gun without waching my own hands? challenge accepted....
I love the references to the fact this is a game.
So many reasons to say MGS is the best video game series. Story, gameplay, graphics. But in my opinion, the best is it's ability to break the fourth wall.
just shake your controller when your talking rosemary on codec
@410weezy just gotta listen more it pretty much tells you what to do. It controls the nanomachines inside you so nuetralize them with a syringe then u can shoot take out 1 of the dolls use it against it easy win
"think i almost had a heart attack " XD
whoa... i havn't played MGS in a long time and i'm kinda lost in the story. Sigint is the DARPA chief in part one? cool. and when and how did did Gray Fox kill Paramedic?
In the Mantis battle, if you call Rose a second time, you'll actually be redirected to Colonel's frequency. More silliness there.
@Phatcat200 That same thing happened in the GC version you know?
its the same as stamina, but only that depletes slowly with stress from battle other than hunger like in MGS3
u remember when Otacon told Snake to change the disc in the first part, and Snake didn't know what the hell he was talking about, thats wierd, cause he understand perfectly clear what Roy mean when he tells him to "change the controller port" :P
Napoleon Bonaparte, the modern Father of OSP tactics...XD
lol i love how it breaks the 4th wall
‘Tell me about it, I almost had a heart attack’ lol
i never played mgs1, i never knew you had to switch ports lol but i have watched every mgs1 cut scenes
i love the bit were snake gos "whos dumb idea was that" lol
I had a tutorial on how to beat her but it was taken off TH-cam because of a copyright claim by Konami.
I like how all the little 4th wall they throw back at us
this is weird, for some reason whenever i try to reasign the controller, the controller settings thing never pops up when i hold down the ps button. (I do know that if u want to beat screaming mantis u can't change the controller. i've beaten mgs 4 like 4 times already.)
u have to use the syringe to get the puppet strings off u, shoot the dolls then later in the fight after mantis loses the dolls u have to use one of them against him
it did in MGS2
Fasteddie97 Is now online.
This is fucking hilarious but it still can't compare with MGS2.
"We've managed to avoid drowning."
"Good job."
on the first codec with rose why was the colonel talking? i thought he was part of GW in the arsenal gear
ICE CREAM. TASTY.
How do you change controller numbers? I wanted to try and get that bonus Codec call but I just don't know how to do it
LOL! was this a bug or that's the way you have to fight him?
@litsproduction metal gear solid 1 had a boss that could only be beaten by putting the controller into port 2
Oh and it was like the time Gray Fox was thought he was killed in Zanzibar, his body was salvaged and rebuilt in cybernetics (duh)
i didn't get the one with "switching controller number" was there a bug on a boss of the first MGS where you change controller and he dies or something? o.0
why are those weird robot things in the shadow moses flashbacks instead of real enemies?
psycho mantis is back wtf
Pffff
I knew the MGS series never really had a fourth wall, but actual conversations based on control functions? lol
7:50 i was wondering about that lol (thought otacon was going to have one of those "don't correct me T_T" moments haha)
Alright, this time I KNOW you missed something. If you call Rosemary again during the fight with Mantis, Campbell will interrupt again to tell you to take some tape off the busts that show Mantis's face.

If you keep on talking to Rose during the Mantis fight you'll get another suggestion from Campbell about the fight.
no, mantis was known for reading only the LEFT side of the brain AKA CONTROLLER PORT 1, switching it to the RIGHT SIDE AKA PORT 2 was how to beat mantis
@Muffler181 I know what you mean. A nice nostalgia trip though :)
I LOL'D when snake went "What's up, doc?"
Too bad there are no statues modeled after Mantis's face that can also disrupt Mantis' psychic barrier.
roy campbell as in the person of mgsportable ops u know the timeline of mgs right
But not sigint,he died in MGS1, he was the Darpa chief that appeared where you were imprisoned
And Paramedic got killed by Gray Fox
cause your playing on Big Boss Xtreme? its the only mode where you cant buy non-lethal stuff
how do you record your gameplay?
@IXISkeithIXI hes offline..
The way the characters talk, they blatantly treat the situation as a video game, rather than a "fourth wall" barrier that seperates the audience (the player) from the events onscreen.
If you can catch them, there are many typos throughout this game. Doesn't really bother me though.
i loved how you how to change controller slots just for fight
Hmm Ice Cream Tasty!!! THAT IS THE FUNNIEST CODEC I'VE EVER HEARD LOL!!!
Snake: WHAT THE HELL. WHOSE DUMB IDEA WAS THAT?
Kojima: My ears are burning...
So that's how MGS4 explains respawning after death: they say it was a dream
ok seen those.there are plenty more u missed like the one you get afther killing all wolwes.and many times get told of by otocon diffrent ways if you knok out the resistance members
yeah just figured not to kill those powersuits.... anyway how do i do it?
Lol typos. What makes them more apparent is when the voice actor actually says the typo, such as Otacon saying "find it" instead of "finds it"
its the intro song for the transformers beast machine series
"We'll this is a purprise" obviously not, you're sitting in front of a monitor still XD
u mean like are they in here cause eva =big mama and big boss does appear in this game in a cutscene
and zero but thats about it hope this help
so how do u kill psycho mantis this time around
I remember the part at 2:15 made me throw the controller when I first played it. So scary!
now I know why Mk-III have to turn off stealth mode to unlock the door so Otacon can see the manipulator.
