A grand start to the trip (apart from dropping the waterproofs) and the big plus so far is the weather, mind nobody likes a headwind. Thats a great wee spot for the first night. 40 miles is good considering you had a few beers on the way, do I see a theme starting here 😅🍺. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Thanks , yeah I have form for losing stuff it’s an expensive habit. Weather yes that’s about to change , beers do slow the pace but we aren’t in it for breaking records lol atb Dave 🍺🚲⛺️👍
Did this a few years ago but sadly the good pub stops were few and far between. It's more challenging than many assume because you earn every mile (few downhill freebies). A very diverse route in terms of scenery and history and very enjoyable.
Now that's the way to do it - sampling the fayre at the local hospitality houses as you cycle along 😂😂 I like Ian, he's teaching you bad habits lol. It looked like a good trip (apart from losing your waterproofs, I wonder if you'll ever get those leggings back?) but dear me some of those sections were a full on mud bath, I'm surprised no-one skidded in to the canal. Looking forward to the 2nd part of the Leeds - Liverpool special :)
I don’t need leading far astray from pubs lol , yeah lessons learned regarding losing gear 🤔 wait to you see the next episodes , then you will see a mud bath !!! came very close at times to going in the canal 🌊 tfw atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
Running Horses - Lydiate.......It's really funny, all those pubs are familiar to me, but I've never been in them on a ride. The path jumps from the left hand side to the right hand side at Mill Lane, Parbold.
There’s some very comfy seats out there with suspension don’t no why ppl don’t invest in a comfy seat when doing these long rides, 7.48 is my area loverly place for a meal the saracens head that’s the part of the canal I do my lure fishing
I really detest those grey gate things. I lived close to the canal for years - it's not that far now really. I've done that ride a few times now on different bikes over the years. I've used The Navigator in Blackburn as a pit stop a few times, inn on the Wharf Burnley, The Black Swan in Hebden Bridge. Last outing that way was 2022.
@@davesolobiker5601 cheers for that 👍 looking forward to your next vlog, you went past my lodge at silverdale in one of your vlogs, keep them coming Dave

lol there was a few close calls, I only lose things when I’m trips with ian 😂 . It was my own fault I didn’t retighten the cord when I binned a bottle from the back . Atb Dave
You really can't beat a pub crawl with a bit of cycling thrown in! Being half cut, up the cut is definitely my style. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching , it was an enjoyable trip atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍

Did this route in two sections, a long way but good route especially over the pennines.
Yes I agree it’s a great scenic route atb Dave
Fabulous. Walked the LLC and now planning to Bikepack it. Going to watch the rest. I have loads of questions about your choice of camps.
Hope you enjoy it , atb Dave
