Judging by your hashtags, you are Liverpool FC supporters which means, as an Evertonian, I can't possibly donate, but I do enjoy the fact you're in pain. Only joking, happy to give and a great effort guys.
Fair play kev and richard your determination and positivity helped you achieve your goal for a wonderful cause absolutely brilliant you've done your city proud well done guys
Well done Kev & Richard that's some achievement. Me & my daughter cycled from Wigan to Southport & back that was hard enough I've donated £5 wish it could be more, great work guys for a great cause. YNWA. Martin from Wigan.
Well done, lads. Fantastic effort. We used to do North Liverpool to Conwy or Llandudno and back in a day when we were kids. First ferry across the Mersey in the morning and last one back in the evening. Tough going, and that was on roads, not rutted towpaths. I'm a lot older now, but have often thought of doing the Leeds - Liverpool canal on a bike. Never done it though. A rucksack with food, drinks and dextrose tablets for energy are a must. 😃 Anyway. Well done. It's a great cause too.
Congratulations to the pair of you on achieving this task. It takes a lot of guts & determination to put yourself through it. The money you raise will hopefully ease the pain, for a bit at least. The satisfaction that you never gave in should fill you with pride, Kev. I know what you are like. We are proud of what you have both done.
Hardest thing you've ever done...? Is that including all those hikes and training manoevers during your days in the Service? Did I miss something, I knew this bicycle ride out in the countryside was coming up, but I must have missed the date, when did you do this? Hats off to ya for completing it, despite your knee niggles. Hope it heals itself quickly. You need a weeks rest now, and a loving wife to care for ya!!
Well done, Kev! 👏👏An amazing feat of endurance! Those years in the army really taught you how to grind past the pain! The lock progression at Leeds was impressive! It reminded me of the locks on the Kennet and Avon canal! This is 57 miles with 105 locks! Maybe a future fund-raiser?
Gosh no easy ride hope you can walk tomorrow Well done you two the money you raise is going to a great cause next time pick something easier but you did it yeah
Mate your a pair of warriors doing that 👍🏻✌🏻 All for a boss cause too. Hats off to the both of ya's, honestly total respect going through what you went through to give to homeless people your a star mate 👌🏻✌🏻👍🏻
@@ADTPedro? Get yourself to vision express lad they weren't on Lecky bikes. And it's a 123mile ride no Lecky bike could last that long on a single charge 😂😂😂
Fair play Kev mission that in one day lad Fkin ell, well done for having the tenacity to finish that guys. I know someone else who did it do t think they tried it in one day and they said it was rough going mainly because of the state of the towpaths, you would think Canal and river trust would maintained the paths better to encourage more usage, they must be taking some money in now either way all the boaters on the canal.
If your knee is hurting from cycling, chances are your saddle is too far back. Either that or the saddle height is wrong. I'm not a doctor or physio btw, but worth a try. Moving the saddle forwards worked for me anyway.
Cracking effort both of you 👏🏼 You’ll be sore tomorrow in places you didn’t know exist. Good luck putting socks on or tying your shoe laces tomorrow 🤣👴🏻 I’ll sponsor you some money now Kev - you saint 😇
Done this a few times, the Yorkshire side is so much more enjoyable. The Lancashire side is as of the people have turned their backs on the canal, it's just not cared for whereas on the Yorks side it's a hugely popular leisure facility. I live in Saltaire, right on it.
It's a lot to do if not used to it. But build up the miles slowly, get a good bike fit/saddle and it's fine. I'm 56 and do rides like this. Some left knee and upper back pain but not too bad so I still enjoy it. I really need a pro bike fit myself. Maybe take up yoga lol
