This is a great video. My Explorer's headlight assemblies have dirt inside and the white running lights are very dingy yellow and discolored from sun damage. I ordered brand new ones on ebay under $400, and they'll make the vehicle look new again. BTW.. Almost anything you find that is "new" on ebay is basically OEM without the Ford logo.. No one would manufacture these complex parts profitably unless they were the OEM's supplier. Very happy with my identical new parts. They're still in the box and absolutely the same as OEM (many tiny details and markings identical)
Thanks for creating this video. I did this job myself this afternoon and saved probably $1000 by not taking it to the dealership. Poor design on Ford's part but your video was very helpful to find all those hidden bolts in the fender. Great work!

Awesome video. Best out there for a 2016-2019 Explorer. I would be careful of the wires though when you pull out the bumper. I have heard from a local Ford service center that half the time it is the ballast or LED controller that is bad. If you only have one headlight out you can swap the left and right controllers to see if it is that or the headlight itself. Thanks for the video. Great job.
Duuuude! You are the real MVP!!!! I have a 2016 explorer sport that the led headlight died on my and I’m trying to replace the assembly and every other video is talking about other trims or years you explained exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!!

you just replace the module not the actual build? is there a way you can change the led buld to yellow?

Base does not. Nor does the police one. This is a misleading video title. The led surround is called "signature light" as they all have true drl on the low beam. You can run them on or off via the ICD.
hey i have the 2017 ford explorer base without the led drl if i buy the headlights with the led drl and the led module will they work on the car?
