About to buy this to power the Pioneer TS-SW2502S4, which is a shallow 10 inch sub. But, also thinking to stretch this baby to also power my door speakers which include a pair of Pioneer TS-G1033i (4 inch) and Pioneer TS-R1750S (6.5 inch). I know I may be asking too much, but I want quality but not loud sound. I also know I may loose the fade, but may be maintain balance (and stereo). I will appreciate some feedback from you @BigDWiz.
Got this amp from Amazon for my motorcycle and it's LOUD and clear. Have it bridged to two Infinity DB691 speakers. Purchased in large part due to this vid and customer comments.
I'm another guy who bought this amp based on this vid. I'm so glad I did. It's awesome, tiny and powerful and the output signal is clean. A best buy from a recommendation from the best TH-cam channel!
I've been running this amp for about 2 years in my Jeep Wrangler in 3 channel mode. It powers 2 Pioneer Premier 5.25" coaxials in the dash, and a Tang Band 6.5" sub in the passenger side foot well, while my deck powers 2 Pioneer Premier 6" coaxials in the pods on the roll bar and it plays pretty loud. I knew it seemed to easily make rated power, but it's nice to see it makes even more. The amp is so small I mounted it under the steering column.
I am a KENWOOD fan i have always bought this brand since the early 1980's my 1020 works well but the gain control needs replacing a little scratchy sounds from all the years in my truck my 820, 920 work very good great amps!!!
Running this bridged to two 2.5 ohm Infinity Kappa 6x9s in my Harley. Never would have thought of bridging 2.5 ohm speakers if it were not for this video. Have had the amp for three years on two different bikes. This vid sold me on the amp back in 2017.
I just installed one in my friends truck. It's pushing 2 sets of 5x7's and sounds really clear. I helped him buy it without even seeing your video but it's good to know your test proves it's a good amp!
I’ve been jamming two of these little amps for almost 2 years. One in a homemade PVC Bluetooth speaker for my 4 wheeler and the other is under the head unit in my work van to run the 4 corners. It sounds great and seems to be very reliable so far. I love your reviews and I’m glad I just seen the review on this and that it did well!
Joseph Stalin Yessir, I test what interests me...don't want to get caught up in any particular area or brand, I like to keep it mixed up. Thanks for the comment
Dereck BigDWiz I'm loving the new kicker cx amps, it seems like they do rated power or slightly more from my personal experience. Hopefully some day you're able to test one...
I know Kenwood doesnt make that bad of amps but they were never on my list of amps to try until I started looking for amps that fit under the seat. Never in a million years would I have thought about this tiny little AMP until seeing the power it put out. Thanks for testing the little feller.
I just got one in the mail today. I'm going to but another one through your link because you convinced me of the capacity of this little amp. Great info. Thank you
i put this amp in my bought this winter..WOW! its paired with 2 JL audio MX650 and 2 JL audio M770 speakers. Its sounds insane,no distortion at all and sends plenty of power to these speakers to make them bump..A+++
Holy crap that little guy is a BEAST!!! :-o Totally blown away! I'm gonna have to go to a local Best Buy and see how good it actually sounds. Excellent video brother! 👍👍
Danny Caballero I listed to this one for about an hour before the Dyno test and although my test speakers are not the best, this little amp put out some great SQ. I was using it in 3ch mode, powering satellites and a 10" MTX Blue Thunder sub
I love old school car audio gear, but once in a while new gear turns my head. This is an example of new gear that does. The puny size is handy, but the fact it belted more continues power then it was rated as well as exceeding rated peek power output (at admittedly a lower ohm load then rated), I must say that I'm quite impressed all around. I'm glad to see you made a note that it sounds clean, that's an area that drove me away from (then) new Kenwood amps in the early 00's.
Reggie Reginato Yeah, it's pretty shocking. I like testing what interests me...and try something different every now and then. This little jewel impressed me so much, I decided to pick up the 300W monoblock as well.
I have this amp in my car. I don't have the best speaker set up but the amp works really good. As you can see it does not have a fan, I had problem with it shutting off in heat so I made a hole in top adding a fan, no problems since.
I actually bought two of these for my front stage. 1 is running bridged into 4ohms 2ch to my midbass the other is running 4 ohm st to my tweets and dash. Omg the power!
I saw a old school Kenwood excelon class AB wired 1-ohm stereo in a competition DB drag do extremely well in class for 600 watts and below it hit a higher than expected at a 145.3 db amp is only rated to 2-ohm stereo. It was wired to a pair of 12" soundstream tarantula subwoofers dual 2-ohm voice coil wired to 1-ohm in a large vented box. I believe the it Might have been the kac-x301t
I am impressed .... 3 of these little guys bridged on a 3 way active front stage would be cool .... I was with you Big D, I didn't think it was going to do rated .....
John Work Thanks man, I enjoy the Dyno tests, producing the videos does take time, but I know you guys appreciate the time I put into them. Thanks as always for the comment!
I still get a kick out of this review. My 2 have been going strong for over 2 yrs. i like them so much i bought 2 more. Using one in my gf’s car. The other might be used for sub duty one day.
That's crazy. The one i bought started smoking within the same week i bought it. A capacitor blew and Kenwood said it was probably due to an error on my end but i bought a different amp and hooked it up and it worked
I have this amp on my road glide pushing 4 speakers. It does pretty good, but now that winter is here im upgrading to that skar 150.4ab. I might keep the kenwood in the fairing to push some tweeters.
Old School...reminds me of some speakers made by Tenna Corporation back in the seventies called Mindblowers. If you had a pair of Mindblowers mounted in the rear deck of your car, connected to the Pioneer Supertuner 8 track/am/fm, you had one heck of a sound system!
Thanks for testing this amp. I've been looking at small amps for my rear fill since I'm going to go active in the front and I still want rear fill. I'll be using the amp bridged for my hertz highh energy's coax and it looks like it'll be more than enough power for rear fill. I also needed something small because I have my amps and dsp in the cargo area of my Q7. I'm looking forward to setting this up and going active up front.
thanks too you. I ran and bought this amp for my Kawasaki vaquero. Love it. also added 6 by 9 in my bags. sounds very good. now I'm hooked. going too buy one more. maybe add two more 6 by 9 or a sub. thanks bro
OOOHHH Snap😲, that rite there rocks. I've been rocking Kenwood products for over 25 yrs, ever since I got my license and my car. I still rock Kenwood head units and speakers. But use RF for amps and subs. This little giant amp will be perfect for 2 sets of Kenwood 6 1/2" and my RF 120a2 w/a RF p2 8" in my daughter ride. Another great vid👍, ✌out
Great video. I have watched a bunch of your well made videos in the past which I always really enjoy & honestly I wouldn't buy an amp without seeing it dyno on one of your videos at this point. I was going to buy this amp until I realize this is from ~2013! Is there something bigger and small that you'd recommend today? I want something small enough to tuck into the dash or center console and I'm just using it in a standard way, running my front components & rear door speakers. Thanks dude!
I bought 2 of these - bought 1 first, loved it, then bought the mono, then bought another 4 chan for another car... The 4ch ones are small enough they fit inside the dash (under the stereo) of a mustang (both 2004 and 2013). That saves a lot of thick power wiring, routing RCAs, and routing a lot of speaker wires. On the 13 it saved me from running wires to the speakers (reused the stockers with one giant wicked harness that incorporated a lineout converter, hookups to the factory stereo and hookups to a raxion nav unit). It all fit inside the dash which is good because those shitty molex connectors at the doors that newer cars have, absolutely suck. I did skimp out on speakers on the 13 and only added fronts and left the backs in (waaay too lazy to take apart half the interior) and this thing did blow up the rear factory speakers... so yeah, don't hook up a cheesy paper cone 25w on its best day speaker to this... :D
I really liked your review of this little Kenwood powerhouse. Many of us bikers get sold junk! There are folks out there selling class a/b amps knowing they are WAY sorry with respect to efficiency. Considering that us bikers have limited amps/watts/power available... Would you mind doing us a public service by doing a review and dyno test of all the mini class d amps out there. This way you can help us cut through all the lies and deception and spend our hard earned dollars on something that is going to give us the best pow for our buck. Keep up the good work... Thanks to your review of the Kenwood, I believe I have made up my mind on what I am going with to drive my 500W 4 ways I managed to get mounted on a VS1400GL.
VTwin4Christ - Also.. if you do a mini amp review for us bikers... Could you also include the current draw for a given wattage? Say for example this Kenwood amp is rated X.... Could you also give us the current draw at say 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% power? This will really help us properly gauge what models to go with. Thanks again... Keep up the great work.
I have a Soundstream Davinci, a pair of Sony XM2000Rs, several Gen X Hifonics amps, several Soundstream MC and D series and other OS amps floating about.. But today I ordered one of these along with the monoblock in the same series just because of this video :p
haakono glad I could help you spend your $$, lol. My favorite amps are old school, but sometimes something comes along that catches my attention as this amp did. I also bought the monoblock, recently tested it on the Dyno. Although not as powerful as the 4ch, still a lot of power for such a small amp and man does it go good powering subs! JVCKENWOOD U.K. Limited
Dereck BigDWiz Yep, and they will be well travelled before they end up here in Norway since I ordered them from the US. Do you by any chance remember the monoblock output? :)
+lmadden6236 I've been told by several Kenwood dealers this video has boosted sales for this amp. Great job Kenwood and you are welcome for me buying and testing one of your amps, lol
+lmadden6236 Some have tried, but I don't take sponsorship's from amplifier manufacturers...I prefer to stay unbiased. I've had some accessories given to me by Stinger, but I disclosed this and I don't believe it's a conflict of interest as it would be with an amp mfg...
+Dereck BigDWiz Yeah, I didn't think about it like that. If you were sponsored by one company, they wouldn't like you dealing with other companies when It comes to amplifiers and subwoofers. They can still send you a check for support to be nice for the plug.
I have 3 of these in my Harley Road Glide. 2 in fairing , 1 running Fairing and lowers. 1 bridged for 6x9 saddlebag lids. 1 in tour pak bridged for Tour Pak 6x9s. Everything is 4 Ohm.
+VTwin4Christ glad you found the review helpful. I'll check out that current draw and let you know. These little amps are efficient and IMO much better for power/flexibility/price than the Rockford PBR series mini amps. And I'm saying this as a loyal Rockford customer since the late 80's.
I need some serious help. The molex harness is giving me actuve brain damage when trying to figure out how I should wire my speakers. I have four Alpine Type S door speakers rated at 80w RMS 4 ohms. What's the best way to wire these up? 4x50w @4 ohms sounds so underwhelming. I tried bridging the speakers in pairs which i think drops the load to two ohms and the amp does not like it at all. Should I wire the speakers in serial and shoot for an 8 ohm stereo load? Thanks in advance.
Sorry for all the questions, but you seem to be very knowledgeable. If I'm running this on my 4 wheeler, I'll only have the one set of RCAs splitting from my 3.5mm. Will I need to split those RCAs to plug into all 4 on the amp? It's been years since I fooled with car audio stuff. In another comment, I mentioned running 2 8" speakers and the music will be from either an ipod or cell phone. I downloaded the manual, but didn't mention HAVING to use all 4 inputs on the amp. I want the best sound possible from my set up. Thanks a lot man.
I have 4 6.5 speakers all 4ohms. So if I use front left to run two 6.5 speakers and front right to run two 6.5 speakers that would give me 2ohm load for each channel right? How much power would be pushing the fronts? Then I’d use the rear bridged to run 1 10” sub with 2ohm load. What would that be pushing according to your dyno? Thanks and love your video.
Can you cut rca wires and wire this to the oem head unit and plug it into this amp or will you need a line output converter the instructions are vague.
Hey BigD, do you think this amp would survive bridged at 2 ohms? I have a pair of DVC 6.5 mids I was thinking of running this on. I don't play my music all that loud but I like having headroom. LMK what you think!
Great video Dereck. But now Im curious of something since both channels put a different wattage if it could be caused by something as simple as the RCA cables, I noticed you are using the SMD cables which are pretty low resistance cables, but the other cables look like some no name cables. Im wondering if those cables have a much higher resistance that it would cause a lower input voltage to the amplifier resulting in a lower wattage output??? Maybe it wouldnt mater however due to properly setting the gain, and the difference is just in the tolerances of the components inside the amplifier. Be cool to test though however.
audiofanaticz Yeah Brian, I've never tested a 4ch amp that has shown exactly the same power per channel. I do need to match up my RCA's though, just got in some really nice 9000 Series Interconnects from Stinger and will get those connected up soon. Thanks for the comment
I remember reading somewhere where you said the kenwood kac-m3001 wasn't as powerful as the 4 channel. Can you tell me the difference at 4ohm mono from the kac-3004?
Think I'm going to try this for my smaller speakers through my dsp. Wonder what the thd is on it. Have 8 speakers and only 1 pdx-f4 now. I think this would be great for the tweets and 3.5s without spending another 300-$400 on another f4.
I tested the output ac voltage on one of my channels and its 6.9V with all the gain up. My target output should be a 14.14V for a 4Ohm speaker according to Ohms law. What is wrong with my system that its only outputting half of what my target is? A response would be highly appreciated!!
Love your amp reviews!! Was looking at a fosgate, this little amp sure has some power. I'm installing it on my Harley Electra Glide. Using HK stock radio, how hot did it get? I'm mounting on top of stock deck do you suggest and air gap between the 2?
Hey Big Will Quick question? I'm planing on running a system @ 2 Ohm Load just running Highs X over at 120Hz HPF , speakers are rated @ 35 RMS So I don't plan to Max out the amp. maybe 75W x4 RMS @2 Ohm in order to have some headroom . Would you recommend this amp or is there any other Budget amps that I can get ?? I appreciate any help Thanks Chino
Awesome review and testing. Question. So can I run the amp @ 2ohms bridged on two of the channels and 2 of them at 4ohms? Or that’s too much for the amp
Dereck, I'm wanting to use this in my jeep to run 2 Polkaudio DB651's and a Pyle PLPW8D. Do you think it's enough to push that sub if I run it in parallel. Btw, great video.
Please help support my channel by buying this amplifier on Amazon - amzn.to/1QQvEdU
Awesome amp. I bought this amp last summer as a backup amp when my 5 channel went down. I was very impressed with how clean and loud it was.
BigDWiz Thanks for the video. I have this amp at the house. How do amplifiers produce more amps of current than their fuses are rated?
Fuses can carry more than their rated amperage for short periods
Have you tested this amp by any chance? Or Clarion in general?
About to buy this to power the Pioneer TS-SW2502S4, which is a shallow 10 inch sub. But, also thinking to stretch this baby to also power my door speakers which include a pair of Pioneer TS-G1033i (4 inch) and Pioneer TS-R1750S (6.5 inch). I know I may be asking too much, but I want quality but not loud sound. I also know I may loose the fade, but may be maintain balance (and stereo). I will appreciate some feedback from you @BigDWiz.
Grabbed this amp specifically because of how well it did in this video, so glad I did, excellent little amp!
Did the same, installed on my Road Glide, Great little amp indeed!
Got this amp from Amazon for my motorcycle and it's LOUD and clear. Have it bridged to two Infinity DB691 speakers. Purchased in large part due to this vid and customer comments.
Can't believe this video is almost 5 years old. What a great little amplifier, I'm running two of them.
Yessir, Kenwood has sold a lot of these amps and I like to think this video has helped show how killer it is
AND, that's ALL CHANNELS DRIVEN SIMULTANEOUSLY!
Little MONSTER! - Awesome test!
+N Domitus yes, I load all channels when possible. Impressive 'lil beast!
I just ordered this amp for my Harley. Thanks for the info and keep the videos coming!
This is awesome, I love how you're testing newer amps too now, thanks BigDWiz!

I have installed one of these in a customers car running 2 6inch RF coaxial and a RF 10inch sub. For such a small amp its really good.
Thanks Big D...
I just got one in the mail today. I'm going to but another one through your link because you convinced me of the capacity of this little amp.
Great info.
Thank you
i put this amp in my bought this winter..WOW! its paired with 2 JL audio MX650 and 2 JL audio M770 speakers. Its sounds insane,no distortion at all and sends plenty of power to these speakers to make them bump..A+++
Been running this in the wife's car, never checked the dyno, so glad it is a good amp haha.
Dereck BigDWiz Nice!!
I've had a Kenwood since 98 and it's still slamin
Awesome 👏
Daym, impressive.
You should review the similarly tiny alpine power pack 4 channel.
That’s a dope little amp!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks for video! Found on Amazon didnt believe it was this good, will be ordering one using your Amazon link. Cheers from New Zealand 👍
I have this amp in my rzr good to know that it works better than advertised.

Just lovely - love the underdog products
Just installed that amp in our golf cart. What a great amp and small to!!!
I just order this amp from ur link
Thanks for the information on this .. helped a lot
I actually bought two of these for my front stage. 1 is running bridged into 4ohms 2ch to my midbass the other is running 4 ohm st to my tweets and dash.
Omg the power!
Awesome, these little amps kick!
Dale Efaw that would be interesting! I'm thinking hard about getting in the monoblock version to try out
I was just checking it out... 300rms would be a good match for one of my old Crankenstein 10's ...
Most awesome video brother thank you for taking the time to make these videos for us have a great rest of the weekend and have a better week peace
John Work Thanks man, I enjoy the Dyno tests, producing the videos does take time, but I know you guys appreciate the time I put into them. Thanks as always for the comment!
Finally a new underrated amp!!! Might just get one for my boombox project.
Joshua's Recordings Yes, I'm impressed if you can't tell in the video :-)
Dereck BigDWiz I bought one for my Booom!box project. Can't wait to get it!
Love these small multi ch amp test.
This one was a shock! I’m sure it sold a ton of amps for Kenwood
Bang for buck wise, Kenwood audio is hard to beat. Great quality, honest price.
I put one of these in my 5 year old ride on Audi and it's worth every penny.
just got this little gem.
That’s Kenwood for ya! Hell yea, brother!
Shocked me too,I am going to wire the 1 I just got! Hopefully it should run my door speakers just fine
Did not expect that. Thanks again BiGDWiz
Is there a recommendation for gauge wire to use to power this amp and recommendation for what fuse to use?
I still get a kick out of this review. My 2 have been going strong for over 2 yrs.
i like them so much i bought 2 more.
Using one in my gf’s car.
The other might be used for sub duty one day.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback 🤙
That's crazy. The one i bought started smoking within the same week i bought it. A capacitor blew and Kenwood said it was probably due to an error on my end but i bought a different amp and hooked it up and it worked
That's really impressive. Don't know how long it would last running 1 Ohm. Still very useful for people trying to keep their equipment concealed.
I have this amp on my road glide pushing 4 speakers. It does pretty good, but now that winter is here im upgrading to that skar 150.4ab. I might keep the kenwood in the fairing to push some tweeters.

What year vaquero u got? I got one too.. 2015
Shit this is what brought me here. Looking at it for my 2011
I just bought this amp to power 4 6x9's in my saddle bags on my HD. Like your vid., Thanks for info.
Thanks for watching and commenting!

Push it like Salt N Peppa 😜
I'm installing the model with Bluetooth into my '72 C10 today.

😎👍 Kenwood has sold a ton of these and I think they should send me royalties 👈😝
@@wal They should... Hell, you should hit up Walmart for some based on the Dual reviews :D (getting those for the boat, because of your reviews)

I'm impressed! Now I need to go buy some!
+lmadden6236 I've been told by several Kenwood dealers this video has boosted sales for this amp. Great job Kenwood and you are welcome for me buying and testing one of your amps, lol
+Dereck BigDWiz Sounds like they should sponsor you now.... Along with many others!
Killer little amp Big D!!
+VTwin4Christ glad you found the review helpful. I'll check out that current draw and let you know. These little amps are efficient and IMO much better for power/flexibility/price than the Rockford PBR series mini amps. And I'm saying this as a loyal Rockford customer since the late 80's.
Dereck BigDWiz are you gonna dyno the xr line like the xr600
I'd also like to see that test at both 12v and 14.4v
The RF PBR 4ch amps are not bridgeable
BigDWiz, I'm also interested in the current draw of this amplifier, thanks
I have 2 pairs of 6.5s on ch 1 and 2. and a JL12W3V2 mono on 3&4 with lpf on amp. it gets my install Bay pretty loud and I have sold lots of theses.
+BigDWiz. I'd like to see what the new us acoustics amps are doing. I have a Lisa and Barbara Ann. If I send them could you make a video?
I need some serious help. The molex harness is giving me actuve brain damage when trying to figure out how I should wire my speakers.
I have four Alpine Type S door speakers rated at 80w RMS 4 ohms. What's the best way to wire these up? 4x50w @4 ohms sounds so underwhelming. I tried bridging the speakers in pairs which i think drops the load to two ohms and the amp does not like it at all. Should I wire the speakers in serial and shoot for an 8 ohm stereo load?
Thanks in advance.
How do you bridge this amp? Would you just connect the two colors together to the power and ground coming off the speaker?
Sorry for all the questions, but you seem to be very knowledgeable. If I'm running this on my 4 wheeler, I'll only have the one set of RCAs splitting from my 3.5mm. Will I need to split those RCAs to plug into all 4 on the amp? It's been years since I fooled with car audio stuff. In another comment, I mentioned running 2 8" speakers and the music will be from either an ipod or cell phone. I downloaded the manual, but didn't mention HAVING to use all 4 inputs on the amp. I want the best sound possible from my set up. Thanks a lot man.
So if I have this hooked up for 4 channels but only running channel A with 2 speakers how much power is going to it?
That is unbelievable!
Have you Dyno-tested the MB Quart NA1-320.4...? I'm curious as to how it compares to the KAC-M3004....
I can't believe it amazing
Do you think this would hold 2 JBL GTO 930 6x9's in a motorcycle fairing @ 2ohms?
I remember reading somewhere where you said the kenwood kac-m3001 wasn't as powerful as the 4 channel. Can you tell me the difference at 4ohm mono from the kac-3004?
I'd like to see how the similar sized Soundstream sm4.1000d does being about half the price.
Impressive amp thinking of getting it however ran into a Kenwood Kac-M8005 5 channel amp. Have you heard or done any reviews on that one yet?
Would this amp be to much for 4 speakers ? 2 rated at 217 watts and 2 rated at 140 watts .All speakers are 2 ohm .Thanks for the help !
This video was fun! 😂😂
Love your amp reviews!! Was looking at a fosgate, this little amp sure has some power. I'm installing it on my Harley Electra Glide. Using HK stock radio, how hot did it get? I'm mounting on top of stock deck do you suggest and air gap between the 2?
You should test the Jensen duba4100, it goes for around $100 and is a 4 channel amp with cea rated - 75w@4 ohms and 90w@2 ohms
Would you happen to have an update on reliability on this amp? Are you still using it? Thanks
Dang Big D. A+A+ just might have to get one of those for my front and rears!!!
This is a fantastic amp!
Can you put a higher rated fuse without issues?
I want to run four 6 1/2 inch Kickers and a separate subwoofer with this amp, is that possible?
Technology is amazing.
Great video! I just nabbed one for $50 open box at worst buy. Any chance you have the 4 channel @4 ohm's measurements? Thanks!
Any sound quality differences to Rockford's PBR?
Awesome review and testing.
Question. So can I run the amp @ 2ohms bridged on two of the channels and 2 of them at 4ohms? Or that’s too much for the amp
That’s too much IMo
how would you rate this against the JL Audio MX280/4 ?
Great review thanks bro
Nice review budy, thank you!
Very welcome sir
Technology is badass
Dereck, I'm wanting to use this in my jeep to run 2 Polkaudio DB651's and a Pyle PLPW8D. Do you think it's enough to push that sub if I run it in parallel. Btw, great video.
Can I use this to power one subwoofer? What will the maxx output be? I am still in the market for a sub as well.
