The Axis bank card requires relationship value of 10 crore and above, just to save 5% markup it doesn't make sense to block your 10 crores, that being said not everyone has that kind of money

Hotel may charge only 1-2% in local currency or even 0 for forex which is way more cheaper than carrying cash from India. Pay your final bill by your any credit card which may charge 2-3% markup. I have done this on my Dubai and Sri Lanka trips.

Yes Bank debit cards also have zero conversion fees. Have found this useful.

In Thailand, 220 Bhat (apprx 5 USD) is fixed service charge for any card. . . I faced this issue. .markup feed depends on the card u r holding. .
