I have a doubt now, I currently have the 330S with 1TB HDD + 16 GB Optane tech, I want to install a M.2 SDD for system and some programs, and leave files and the rest to the HDD. But the trouble is that the M.2 slot is the same where is installed the Optane, so I have to remove Optane memory if I want to install the SSD. It's actually better to have SSD + HDD, or HDD + Optane? Btw, i have dual boot with Windows and Ubuntu, not sure if that can be a element to consider. Thanks!

I went to the Kingston website and entered the model details. Kingston says you can add up to 20Gb(4+16). But the 16Gb is recognizable by the system and the rest of the ram is just sits in the motherboard. is it running in a dual-channel or single channel? and one more thing is that weather crucial or Kingston saying the right?

Because I tried running many tools (on linux) to see the accessible RAM - and they state that it is dual-channel with 4gb and 16gb ram (total 19919 Mb). I actually didn't upgrade it myself, I bought it like this - used laptop. And when I was running Ubuntu, the system would get relatively heavier and the fan would immediately start running, just by the boot of Ubuntu. And I had gotten up to 13gb of RAM used through just browsing activities. But I don't remember going above that. Now I use zorin and the max Ram i use is about 8 gigs. I was actually surprised though at the performance, because for 512gigs SSD and 20gb RAM I was expecting it to be really fast, but both windows and ubuntu were running a bit slow and when I understood that the laptop actually comes with 4 or 8 gigs originally, and it was upgraded, that almost made sense for its slow performance. Because otherwise it would have been optimally running on such RAM or SSD. Any way its still good but its just that for such specs you'd expect a much more killer machine

I think it's a better idea to contact the Lenovo support team before making the purchase. I went to their support page and saw that I can add a 16Gig stick in the second slot, making a total of 20Gigs. But they didn't mention that system recognizes 20 gigs instead of 16 gigs. This laptop of mine only have one available slot and it’s already taken with 4GB (8GB currently), if yours have empty slot and your system is currently 4GB, then yes you can add another 4GB to empty slot to make 8GB, its easy so no need for PC mechanic
@@himannshu_dixit put the m.2 in its slot and then the 2TB in the drive bay, install windows on the m.2, then partition the HDD, i have a video on installing windows and you can look up videos on getting HDD ready for use
Hlw mate, I have the same specs, I was about to upgrade to a sata ssd, by replacing my 2tb HDD with a SATA SSD and placing the HDD using the caddy, but I read somewhere that the Caddy doesn’t support 2tb, is that true? Have you tried replacing yours and how’s the luck there

I have 2 ram slot, one is solded and one is empty. I searched online but there are rams available mostly have 2666mhz clock speed. @@FERATOX make sure u get the correct RAM “DDR4 2400mhz” I believe you can go as high as 16GB per stick and up to 3200mhz as well

I no longer have the laptop so I don't know, but I recommend to follow the manufacturer's spec recommendation
