What if I was on the FBI's top ten most wanted list, fled to Thailand, got busted, served hard time in the states - should I move to the Philippines (with my embezzled millions), start a youtube channel and spew lies? I could call my channel wurld zume. Would that be cool?

I already made up my mind to move to the Philippines and I have a house to live in so I don't need to worry about paying rent. I'm thinking about getting solar panels and possibly a wind generator for the house so that I can eventually cut out the electric bill. I know that it will take a few years for it to pay for itself. This way I can help to make my money stretch further. I only dated one Filipina and I'm married to her. We have been married for 10 years now. I just think that everyone should take their time and get to know who they're talking to before getting into a serious relationship. The only reason why I'm not in the Philippines is because I'm still wanting to earn money, my parents are in their mid 80's, my wife is still working to help support her family and I need to be here with her. Thank God that I don't have any vices to worry about. The only addiction that I have is eating food but every time that I go to the Philippines I lose weight as I eat healthier.

Your first comment is quite broad. My wife and I earn our living in pesos, 80-100,000 pcm. We own a number of properties, which have increased in value significantly over the past 4 years and have cash in the bank as well as other investments and business interests. Earning cash in a foreign currency is not necessary providing you are financially stable, rather just than scraping by. Otherwise, sound advice.

The only two criticisms I have towards the Philippines is the bathroom structure, at least in the places that I stood in, the shower has no division between the toilet and sink so water was everywhere, the other criticism I have is the lack of availability of certain products and foods, especially in restaurants, I assume is because I was at the Provence areas, not so much when I was in Davao City. Other than that I love the Philippines and can’t wait to move there this October. I just gotta find a place with a fully functional bathtub lol.

Another great video. When I move out of the USA, wherever it is I end up it will be for one reason and one reason only. Financial freedom. I will be retired and will be getting monthly Social Security deposited in my bank account and I will have a modest saving account. That won't be enough to live on here in the US. I am seriously considering several places in South America, but the Philippines is also high on the list of possibilities. One of my clients is an older lady from there and she said, "you live in Philippines, you live like king." Well, I don;t need to live like a king. I am not rich, but i do have something a lot of Americans don't have, and that is fantastic health and fitness.I just want a nice place with the ocean where I can sail and wind surf and bike ride and have FREEDOM from the 9 to 5 grind.

I am an islander from Seychelles, what you said is totally true. Our rupees are five time better than the pessos. I can live a normal phillipinos life easy and in comfort. Seychelles is way way more expensive than Philippines. I am on a 750 dollars pension, no mortgage, only my internet bills and food to as my wife and children take care of everything, still i cannot save one cents. I take some beers at times but never goes out for any fun or restaurant. Seychelles is more expensive than BGC in every place you go. The quality of stuff is no way close to BGC, no night life, no malls, no fancy shops. I think I can live in the Philippines on a small island like Bohol or similar. If everything goes as plan I will spent sox month of the year very soon.

This is great information and would love to watch more from this channel. I was a little taken aback when I heard “give your life to Christ and you will be made while and new.” I had to stop the video there as I’m not sure if this was serious or not. This is awesome content but if it is subtext of evangelical Christianity this changes everything. Did I get this wrong? Would love to watch more if it was just a joke or something else

It might be easier to meet a Filipina in America. My Filipina friend met an older bald guy at the office. He is tall like Jordan and Filipinos like basketball. They both work in IT so they both rich. They got married and kids. Lucky guy if you ask me.

    Real talk bro!
But for sure, these are the actual reasons a lot of folks/men go to the Philippines 😂 and no one can stop them
Where else can they get "quick love" (#2) with little money (#1) but in SEA, def not in the US
If people got all their business handled here, they won't even move there, coz they can afford to just take vacays to Palawan or Siargao
Vices are everywhere in the Philippines - I remember how the barkada drank cases of San Mig every weekend. And lets not talk about what Duterte aimed to "eradicate"
And to leave the politics of the US and replace it with Philippine politics is like getting from the pan into the fire 😅
Yeah you gotta be open minded, don't bring your cultural baggage anywhere. Thats a given with any kind of travel
Your points are all valid however, and guide expats towards managing their expectations.
Not tryin to be nega but a lot of folks going there are like the "dont tell me what to do" dude above.
Hey I appreciate your work and for sure your channel's one of the few that makes sense out there about the Philippines 🤩

Great video, Evan! To add just a bit on the expats who act superior and treat Filipinos poorly: to me its harder to watch when Filipino Americans come here with that superior attitude. I think it’s worse. Keep rocking!

Got my patience testet the other day. Huge waiting line at the Oceanjet ticketing office. 2 counters but of course only one open.
Then in front of us a lady buys a group ticket. Takes a little longer. Thats fair. But it takes like for ever, as if they didn't have the numbers ready. But finally they seem ready to issue the tickets. And then the show starts....collecting the money for payment. The whole back and forth accountancy procedure right there in front of a huge line.
Apparently this is done without a shaddow of embarrassment. I just know that I would be really embarrassed to waste the time of so many other people. I just said to my GF "you do the talking at the counter".
Yeah I did send eyes and did some head shaking.

Complain to the management so that they can improve their service. But don't complain to the ground people as they don't make the policies.

It's not the exchange rate or what currency Per se, it's the amount of income received for your living expenses. Many things are MORE expensive in the Philippines. Vehicles, Motorcycles, Western Foods. Cuts of meat, Fresh milk. IMO

Hello and thank you for your good review on the reason to NOT move to the Philippines. You are very gracious in all you say. Also, I am very pleasantly surprised and blessed that you mentioned people giving their lives to Christ. This truly is the only right answer in the whole universe. Bless you my brother.

your point number one is playing with fire. eventually the locals in poverty will get tired of seeing foreigners living it up like fat cats in their country, and more resentment will sink in (if it's not already there).

I just got back from the Philippines. I spent 1 month there. It is a massive tourist trap and extremely expensive because they charge for literally everything. 500 for a beach chair, 300 for a towel, 50 to use washroom, 1500 trike ride etc. pollution, traffic, terrible food, scammers, lady boys everywhere. Id rather never go on vacation ever again than ever go back to the Philippines ever again. Horrible place. Get with the times and legalize cannabis like omg stuck in the stone age.
