    thats lovely . great to see a finished piece.
    a very simple processs but very effective. i like the hind of black left between the texture , really ties it together. i woulder if a copper colour in that area before the texture would make it sparkle

    Stewart......not that you need it but if you want to try taking your Microcrystal wax finish upward there is a slab/epx maker in BC up in Canada that sells a ceramic coating that is to fine wax such as Micro crystal what Micro is to common wax........ceramic product that comes with a base for build up and then a top......wipe on wipe off that is more easily reparable than wax
    Black Forrest Ceramic

    Such a bold, beautiful piece!! Thanks for your continual inspiration! 2 questions - 1. Do you sign your work? If so, how do you do that with the textured foot? 2. Do you size your mortises so that you don’t get chuck marks once you take it off?

    • @stewartfurini
      @stewartfurini  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Amy! It was fun to do. I do sometimes sign what I make, and then the recess isn't textured. I use an archive ink pen. The mortice is usually set at the optimum size for the chuck jaws so it doesn't mark and grips it the best it can.

      Sorry to hear this...the only thing I can suggest is to alter the speed of the cutter and check it's clean? Try a slower speed first. Good luck!
