    Time for a half-rack version, isn"t it? Skip to 8:00 to hear less talking and hear the SansAmp in real-time play.

    The parallel output is the best portion on the smaller drivers. I currently have to run my bass board with a wet and dry signal out to have a "simulated" parallel out. The bigger Tech21 pedals removed that option for a goofball reason. Still a pretty stellar pedal! Glad to see that you are doing a little bit of love to us bass players! Enjoy your videos, mate!

    I play Bass and the Sans Amp Para Driver is far better than the SansAmp Bass Driver.And actually the Blend function increases the Sansamp emulation.If you have the Blend knob fully counter clockwise you just get the dry signal from your Bass without emulation and the Sansamp acts as a regular DI with EQ.

      I'm thinking about buying a Para Driver for bass, but I'm worried I'll miss the Presence knob. Does the Para Driver do a good enough job with the high frequencies where I won't miss that adjustment?

    • @francoishtzl157

      @@JarodGrieco The Para Driver is more fuzzy than the BDDI (fuzzy like the Geddy Lee)

    Shane Embury used this pedal in his entire carrier. No amp, nothing. Just this pedal on the stage going to the PA. And that's it. And Shane Embury _IS_ metal! :)

    The pedal is the one that distort aka drives =) and a bit sounds gooooood Thanks Henning Love cheers

    Bravo Henning, vous faites honneur à notre belle langue française ! Cool demo. Could you demonstrate it with single coil pickups (Jazz bass and co)? I feel the humbuckers in this bass make the driven sounds quite muddy

      It might be able to drive a power amp not sure of the levels but it might get closer to reaching 0dbv for a power amp. It is the same as V1 instrument/line switch.

  • @garystackhouse5787
    @garystackhouse5787 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    A LOT more drive (and more quality drive) available if you turn up the blend knob all the way... in that case, it gets much closer to the VT.

    Bass Driver DI or Geddy Lee DI 2112? Is it worth the extra $100?

  • @Raezioo

    This is a monster of a pedal. This little thing completely replaced my amp. This pedal goes DI to the Front of House, and I hear everything through my own monitor. It's literally all I need. My bass, a tuning pedal, and this pedal and I'm all set!
    And btw, it should be noted that this is Version 2 of the pedal. The first version has NO mid knob. Just wanted to point that out because I can image people looking this pedal up, and buying the old version :) So maybe add V2 to the title :) (Tech21 Sans Amp Bass Driver DI V2) Just a suggestion haha! You did the pedal justice with this review!

    Really don't like the new version of the BDDI. Prefer the old or VT Bass.

    Hi Henning, please excuse my debutant question here... So if I wanted to use this to record, would I need some IR's? Would I simply connect the bass into he pedal and its DI straight into my interface? Of should I use something like IR loaded pedal in between the Sansamp and intereface? Et ton francais est quand meme tres bien! ;)

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is meant to go direct. With an IR loader you‘ll have more tonal options for cabs… so the choice is up to you.

    Somebody give me a hand here! Currently playing 4/5 strings P/J Fender with no effects and I need a portable DI for live situations to simply fatten my bass sound and make it sound fuller in the mix (no drive needed). I'm looking for that vintage tone, but fat, full and articulated. Bass Driver DI or VT Bass? Obviously can't have them both at the time...

  • @lionels4800
    @lionels4800 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Leslie is right! "Monnaie" is the french for money, but you'd better use "argent" (that also means "silver").

  • @predz23

    Now you must compare it to the new generation of Bass Driver DI's, the Microglass pedals

    Bass Driver V2 or VT Bass DI? PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE

    • @ioannist.5568
      @ioannist.5568 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi. Maybe you have already found the answer by testing them both. From my experience I prefer the bass driver v2 along with a nice distortion pedal before it instead of the vt bass. Never was really fond of the VT's d.i sound. Sounds still very lifeless. I was missing that 40-80hz bass frequencies a lot.

  • @ryanspencerlauderdale687
    @ryanspencerlauderdale687 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This pedal gets the bass player paid. Getting the bass player laid, however, is an entirely different job.

    • @biga6856

      I disagree he have should cut the drive knob. He is getting a distortion tone because of the drive knob. This pedal capable of many tones including bass distortion.
