First pedal I ever bought. I come back to it from time to time, and really like the ability for three presets. I wasn’t crazy about the dirt sound when i first bought it, but then I think I was really after more of a distortion at that point. Now that I have good stuff for that (Darkglass etc.), this is awesome when I’m looking for more of an creamier overdrive. It could have done with a mid control, but then there are ways to adress that.
Great review! Been carrying one of these for backup to Line 6 boards(HD500X, HELIX). Why? Once at an event, the earlier Line 6 board power supply "let the smoke out" at a venue with dimmers wired up to wall outlets(WT!!??). Was forced to run bass direct into a BOSE system for the entire gig.....never again. Put 3 sounds in this one, carry it in the HELIX bag or gig bag for a spare.
Great review man! This is my Swiss Army knife/back up depending on the gig. I wish it had the mid control knob option like the smaller version. Otherwise it’s a great investment.
This is how I found your channel! Someone was selling one for $64 on Reverb with a busted #1 button ao I was looking at reviews which one was yours. By the time I went to get it it was gone. I have thr Sansamp RBI rack mount and an MXR BASS DI so I wasn't too sad 😂
I am going to try out a sansamp. the 3 button version seems so practical, but it seems like the smaller version is more popular. Any ideas why? I would love ability to switch between 3 sounds quickly. if i can dial in what i think i want (which I think what i would start with is mellow, aggressive (mid), slap).
The smaller one is smaller? It has different controls too (sweepable midrange). I guess it's mostly a form factor thing. The main sound is mostly the same from my limited experience
Great presentation. Would this work well in conjunction with Amplitude 5? Also, how would you compare it to the MXR M80? I’m looking for a deep fat dub bass sound similar to reggae and also a rubbery bass sound like Beatles era. Cheers mate
I have Amplitube 5 and love it! I think it would be great for that. I sold this pedal a while ago, but it worked very well as a DI. I think for fat, warm sounds, it's the best.
i'm afraid that's illegal. straight to jail. jk you totally can! It takes pedals fine. You can also run them afterward if you use the 1/4" cable output instead of the XLR output.
I haven't compared them directly, and the small one has parametric mid eq as well. So while they can do different sounds from each other, they sound similar overall.
They basically are the exact same pedal, just this one has the programmable presets. My experience is however these are a little cheaper than the smaller units. But you’re going to happy with them regardless. These and the rack mount are all basically the same circuit.
@danteallucinante ah good old anecdotal evidence. I’ve owned both and both sound basically the same. There’s plenty of videos showing it has just enough punch.

would you plz tell me what does blend knob do exactly? and also presence ?
thank you
The blend knob lets the dry [not affected signal] through to the output. The presence controls the upper treble frequencies (like 5kHz and above)
Now playing starts till 10:40 ish

Mainly looking for a di to track through my 2i2 4th Gen into my daw.

@@ZachariahConnor sweet thank you for the reply!
¿Is this better than the V2?
Not sure! It has presets so...that's different than the smaller one (if that's what you're refering to)
Did you ever use the 9V battery power? If so, how long would one battery last you?
I never did with this pedal. Just used phantom power over the XLR cable. I’ve sold it so I can’t test that now.
@@ZachariahConnor Okay gotcha, thanks for the reply!
@@brendanmcewen7190 of course! Sorry I don’t know the answer
nice!!! can you use pedals in from of this unit? like a fuzz, chorus pedal for example? thanks!
i'm afraid that's illegal. straight to jail.
jk you totally can! It takes pedals fine. You can also run them afterward if you use the 1/4" cable output instead of the XLR output.
Ahaha 🤣, thanks!
you've got nice hands. You should be a hand model.
Great review!
You want it??
No bypass
@@neobx2you can always use a preset to have the blend off and eq flat as a bypass channel, that leaves you 2 channels to use effected
How do you save your preset?
Hold down one of the buttons
@@ZachariahConnor thank you!
Incluye cabsim o no es necesario para tocar en línea ?
It kinda has a cab sim built in
That's a really cool review. Do I need the 9V battery in order to save the presets?
No, they save even when the power is disconnected
Thanks as well!!
So does this have the same sound as the small bass driver?

If anything, the V2 is different because of the mid knob. Besides that, they're pretty similar in terms of tone.
Such strong hands.....hahahaha
not sure what to say to that
this is wtf
Hm
