I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you've 'made it' when getting contacting by brands like Phoibos. I felt the same way myself when they contacted me too.

I’ve got such a thing for white dial divers at the minute. This Phoibos sounds like a monster on paper but it seems to wear really well.

I have a Leviathan on my wrist as I type. Love the watch but the supplied rubber strap was a real issue, a real struggle to get it on and off the wrist. The strap really affected my enjoyment of the watch, until I switched it out for a canvas strap. Now I can appreciate the design, the crystal is brilliant, and has survived my random dunkings. Its big, but I'm a big bloke.

I'm impressed by this one. They went all out to make a dive watch that's actually meant to be used while diving. Great specs, the rubber strap is big enough to comfortably fit over a wetsuit and a Stainless Steel case size that will work wearing it on the suit. Great water resistance too. This watch is meant for the ocean, not the desk. I'd encourage anyone who buys this to use it as it's meant to be used and learn how to dive!! It's that good!

So happy to see you get this, especially this black dlc version. Lovely watch and yeah it's massive but at least it's being obvious about it. Actually looks good on you, maybe better on another strap. It should do very well for them.
That's an absolute monster, you definitely need some big wrists to accommodate that. Looks awesome though and congratulations on the collaboration
Phoibos Leviathan watch is equipped with a Seiko NH35 movement and not the more performing and expensive Miyota 9015.
You're right, think it has the open heart variant on the NH movements
Love the colours, dial and strap but the bigger size is the let down for me, find I'm gravitating to 40mm and under now. Great job on being noticed by Phoibos

I just got one of their v2 Wavemasters. Build quality and specs for the money is fantastic. I like the look of this one but it's a big mother.

I've ordered this exact model today, and it'll be my first Phoibos. This may be the perfect watch to fill the diver slot in my modest collection. I think I can manage it on my 20cm wrist but it's a big boy for sure. You definitely need a comfortable good fitting strap for this, otherwise the top-heaviness will be annoying. I'm looking forward to your review of this beautiful monster (and getting my own).

Congrats on being recognized by Phoibos by the way! They're a cool company, nearly in the same category as Zelos for me, and I love the logo. Hail Hydra!
@@JasonTheWatchGuy I received the watch today (at least a week faster than expected). It's my first mechanical, first automatic, and first DLC watch. I absolutely love it. The included strap is comfortable but I used a dab of lithium grease to make it easier to put on & take off. Natos are out of the question for sure due to its height, but I'll get a few FKM straps to try with it. Probably red, blue, and grey with black buckles. I still need to see about the regulation on it, but unless it's badly out I won't regulate it for awhile. The lume excellent, the best I've had on a watch. I have to be careful that I don't fall into the trap of buying a bunch of watches I never wear, but I'll be wearing this one and I'd buy another Phoibos for sure.
I've got the blue open heart version they released last year and love it. Couldn't get along with the rubber strap though so put it on a treated leather from my Zelos 🙂. I liked this version but when I first saw it in this colour way it reminded me too much of a casio mrw 200 series 🤔. Can't go wrong with Phoibos though I'm on my 3rd in 12 months 🤦♂️

What does 17,7mm translate to in inches? Mine is 6.2, think this would suit 7" plus
Hmm, I have three Phoibos now (Proteus, Nebula, Sentinel) and I was kind of interested in the Leviathan, but definitely not this version. I think you can hardly make out the shape and angles. The SS version shows that off way better I think. So yeah thanks for helping me decide with that 👍

Hi Jason! From my point of view it's worth noting you have been treated by Phoibos as a watch reviewer. Once having ordered a watch from their Chinese warehouse I experienced the worst conceivable customer service from them with a watch turning up after almost two months. Basically I'm done with them.
How big is your wrist? I'm surprised it looks awesome on yours... I'm a pretty skinny guy used to big watches, currently at 16.4cm wrist (6.4 inches).
Mine is 6.25" so you wouldn't be far off my fit
