Phoibos have been hitting it out of the park. Value for money is superb.

There is a case to be made that most watch enthusiasts should try out having at least one massive tool watch in their collection. I have a huge Hamilton diver and it is very comfortable. Unfortunately it destroys door casing

great review and good to see a bigger watch. Most of my watches are 43-44mm as anything smaller tends to just look too small on me. keep up the good work and keep reviewing the bigger stuff...not everyone wants 40mm watches

Seriously looking at Phoibos due to your honest reviews, well done

It's a good looking watch and refreshingly different. The white option looks good. The size is not unmanageable if worn as a pure sports / statement piece. Nethuns and NTH (albeit NTH is more expensive) make some interesting alternatives. Some reviews of these brands would be interesting...

Great review Dan. I was also surprised, when I reviewed the blue dial one, at how well this actually wears given those rather large dimensions.

Thanks James, it's nice to be surprised. I would normally write this off as a no, but really enjoy wearing it!

A very fair review mate. I remember this watch making an appearance last year on another popular channel and it got slated in the comments and that was after a pretty favourable review. That was the bronze version limited to 500 pieces. It took Phoibos forever to shift them so I'm surprised they've made more tbh. Definitely not my cup of tea but each to their own I'm sure some will love it .

    • @watchmewithwatches
      @watchmewithwatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think that's why they made this version 2 a bit more subtle

@@watchmewithwatches yeah maybe, but once you've seen the original it's impossible to unsee it and not associate it with this one 😁

Nice video editing and quite a history there with the leviathan at the intro. That was really compelling. The watch resembles some seikos divers as the monster or even the samurai. The new strap gave a completely new look to the watch, smart match.

Thank you! I agree with the samurai reference, really interesting play with angles.

Nice review as always Dan! I got it, Phoibos have taken to the max. It's a huge watch combined with an angular, even brutalist design. Even though it's not as horrible as the previous bronze & open heard model, it's not for me I'm afraid.

Just saw the review with Marc from Long Island Watch, the white dial looks really nice. Surprised Phoibos didn't go full on with the bezel grips all around. A beast nonetheless...oh to have a larger wrist!!!

It's got a real rugged tool aesthetic, I like it....perhaps slightly bigger hands with more lume....other than that it looks great....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

I think it looks great with those angled areas on the case. I also really like the Seiko Samurai, which have some angled parts as well. The dial is very nice too. But of course it's way too big for my tiny wrist.

Well that watch is sure gigantic. Not something I could ever wear but my daughter probably could - worn over her wetsuit next to the giant and bright pink dive computer she wears when taking people on their scuba courses!
Nice review, I especially liked the 15 second home video. Far from being silly nonsense I actually thought it was quite good!

Tool watch fan. Love the look of this, wish it was a little smaller just for day2day practicality, I'm not a 500m diver and 2-300 would let this be a little slimmer etc.

Surprised that it looks fine on your wrist, given the size. Clearly it's spec belies it's wearability... I like big watches, I'm over 50 so big equals easier to read - daily wear is 43.5 Aquis.(a tiddler in comparison 🤣)
Good review, nice watch. Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
