  • I've finally been given the chance to work with one of my favourite microbrand watch makers and they have not disappointed. This truly has the potential to be a perfect dive watch...Just one little thing is standing in the way.

    I received the exact same watch about 3 weeks ago and I've been loving it. It fits like a glove on my 20cm wrist, and the included strap gives me a perfect fit with 9 notches remaining. Due to the shape of the case, it doesn't wear _quite_ as big as the numbers would suggest (I'd suggest 7"+ wrist size). Even though it fits me great, I agree I'd also love to see a slightly downsized version so more people can enjoy what is truly a great dive watch for the money. This is my 1st mechanical watch, and the NH35 has made a stellar 1st impression. My watch has lost about 8 seconds in the last _3 weeks_ . When I wear it at the computer, it loses time slightly. When I lay it down dial facing up for some hours, it gains time slightly. It all averages out to surprising accuracy from a low cost automatic movement. Absolutely no buyer's regret with this one, the watch is the best version of what I thought I was buying. The non-DLC Leviathans also look great (though I'd choose black or blue, not the green).

    Beautiful colour combo and watch overall! You're right, 42mm of this would sell like hot-cakes. Thanks for sharing.

    Great review really enjoyed it! But yea they're missing out on so many potential buyers with a watch that size.

    I think it looks amazing....can't fault anything on it, the size is fine for people like me with above average wrists....have to agree if they made a smaller version they'd fly of the shelves, infact they would definitely sell out in no time....the picture you put up off there next release looks interesting, hopefully they send one in, I'm sure we'd all enjoy seeing you review more Phoibos....fingers crossed my friend....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

    I have a very nice stainless steel Phoibis and they're great watches. The size is a strange one. Because when I dive with mine my 8" wrist is 8.5"+ with a wetsuit. A 6.8" or 7" wrist, again with a wetsuit is perfectly fine as it expands to 7 5" +. These guys build watches for real divers, not for desk divers. A watch size that suits people who don't dive, can be too small for people who do. We like big open dials well contrasted hands that are easy to see. I know guys who use these diving but don't wear them otherwise so I understand the reticence of people regarding the size. I have a biggish wrist so can wear it outside of diving, but it's big for many people. Great review Jason! P.S. They definitely should make a smaller version to suit more people who like the design, though it might lose some of it's character with a smaller dial.

    what do you think about a 7-inch wrist? will it work for me ?

    • @JasonTheWatchGuy
      @JasonTheWatchGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn't that uncomfortable for me so if you're used to bigger watches I think you'll love it

    Shame about the little issues and it's an absolute monster, definitely too big for my chicken wrists. The lume looks pretty great though.

    It is a real pity that Phoibos Europe is based in the UK, because after Brexit it means that people in the EU end up with big import taxes and fees. Otherwise, I would have been very tempted to buy one of these watches. I asked Phoibos if they plan on opening up in the actual EU, and they said it is too complicated for them to do so legally.

    • @JasonTheWatchGuy
      @JasonTheWatchGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully when the UK government and the rest of the EU sort their heads out we can then benefit from lower cost of our purchases

    It really is a shame it's not offered in smaller sizes. Unfortunately the Asian market still love their oversized watches.

      @JasonTheWatchGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Weird how thats still their preference, hopefully they start to follow suit with the European Market
