Had to watch that landing three times, made me twitch a little. Love the Reservoir shots & as soon as you mention an area, I get it up on the maps and follow your route. Beautiful little strip. A.T.B. Batts.
Your right it was a tough one. You can't really se it on the video but the air field is very undulating. I also had a 45 degree gusty cross wind over the trees. It made it interesting!
Nice one Trev. I often think about dropping in at Pitsford on my way south (or back north), but I'm usually in a hurry to get some place else. I will put it on my list for next year. Must give that Aldi rice a try too.
Good NZ morning Trev. As usual, another great episode mate. Down here, ever since our big quakes in the south island back in 2010, we've had available, 24hrs ration packs, and I still have some. Usually there's a 2-3 years shelf life. And included in them are packs like you have. I must admit, it's hats off to the people who produce them, keeping them tasty. Btw, I loved that 2 minute slot where the shadow of the wing shows up under you. I guess having the sun at the right angle, plus whatever minimums are legal in Uk, sorted that. Thank you for sharing. All the very best, from down here.
@@bryanbadger6841 Hey Brian thanks for the comment once again. Yes the ration packs are great. I always end up with the left overs from them. I'll have to grab a fresh one and go through the contents on another video sometime 👍👍
Hey Trev. Thanks for sharing. Iam enjoying your videos emencly.Good to see the background to your world. Also wanted to say how much I enjoyed your trip to the north Cape. A question I had was do you have anymore big trips planned? Keep up the great work
Hi Martin. Thanks for your comment. The answer to your question regarding the next big trip is yes something is being planned. I'm not ready to anounce the destination at the moment. Watch this space!! 😉
Hi there, great videos! Any advice on completing my NPPL? I have my second flight booked in after completing my first, have read the microlight handbook but feel I can be doing more. Let me know! Thanks!
I can only comment on my own experience really as this is what worked for me. I lived and breathed the whole experience from start to finish. Appart from my lessons I watched every video I could find and read all the books I could get my hands on. Don't take verything you see as being gospel but look at it all and apply some logic to it. I never had any ground school as I did all this at home. Ask your instructor and the pilots at the airfield you are training at all the questions that keep popping into your head. I used Quizz Aero as prep for my exams. Also if your not happy with your instructor move on. Mine was brilliant and very fair. Good luck 😉
great vid Trev. i had a puma sport let a freind use it and he crashed it... yes it was skrap after, might get one in a few years time againe and no one gets a go this time ha ha
Hi Trev,it's an awesome video,Am learning to fly microlight here in france using DTA,after enoufh expérience i will be flying from france🇫🇷 to kenya🇰🇪 .i always learn alot from your videos. Keep them coming.
Lol. That was a tough landing!! 😬Pitsford is extreamly undulating and you can't really see it on the video. I had gusty 45 degree crosswind coming in over the trees to my left which challanged me to be honest.👍
I don't think there is any particular hight but they do need to be kept short. Some are better than others. Have you seen my Lundy video? The grass there is only maintained by the sheep!!
Hi Trev, Love the Swedish M44 cook set. I like the addition of the aluminium plate, I will have to make one of those. I echo the comment previously about care of the aircraft. How often does the wing fabric have to be changed ? and what is the ceiling height of the aircraft. Great video, many thanks
Thanks for your comment. I have had the Swedish cook set for many years and so far I have had bo reason to change it for something else. The wing fabric should last many years. I know of aircraft with original sails on them that are well over 20 years old. But I think the old sail material is better than the new. Mine is 2023 so hopefully it will last me well
Love the whole idea of flying off for dinner and flying home.. what an amazing hobby.. thanks for posting.
Deffinitely 👍
Thanks Trev. Another enjoyable video
Glad you enjoyed it

That was a tricky landing Batts. It challanged me to be honest! 😬
Trev, please please keep these coming. Love watching you take off, mid flight, land, camp, food, absolutely amazing! Thankyou
Glad you like them!
You have inspired me to go flying just to cook some food someplace!
Lol go for it n😁
Just brilliant mate, what a treat for us to be able to share, thanks a bunch.
Cheers: brian in nz.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Very enjoyable; thanks Trev, best wishes from Merseyside 👌👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
That landing looks a little turbulent. Well executed. Enjoyable video.

Hi Peter. Pitsford is a lovely spot. The rice is well worth a try 👍
Looked like a good time up and out 👍
It's always good to get out and up!😎
Hi Trev, I love what you do. Great video. I'd love to see a video on maintenance or servicing your aircraft. You take care 🤝
Thanks for the idea. And thanks for the comment 👍

Another great video Trev thanks

Thanks Trev, I'll have to give that a try. Might be nice with a bit of that ready to eat chicken tikka in it too
Oh yes. The possibilities are endless 😉

@@trev.lee.adventure thank you!
I was wondering if you could reach the Shetland islands from John o groats. Or would it be better to stagger it by refuling in the Orkneys.
Yes this is very doable. The shetlands has been used to re fuel before heading over to Bergan in Norway in a flexwing microlight 👍
great vid Trev. i had a puma sport let a freind use it and he crashed it... yes it was skrap after, might get one in a few years time againe and no one gets a go this time ha ha

Simple but brilliant
Thank you 😎
How often do you practice engine off landings or at least engine off approaches in case of engine failure. (B206 pilot)
Quite often to be honest. I have recently started to switch off my engine over the airfield and pick a spot on the runway to land 😉
Was there a touch of “Anglo Saxon” during that landing?
Lol. That was a tough landing!! 😬Pitsford is extreamly undulating and you can't really see it on the video. I had gusty 45 degree crosswind coming in over the trees to my left which challanged me to be honest.👍
Looks tasty but on a long trip beans might work better, better for your digestion and maybe give you a bit more lift!
Lol Very true!
Great video! Do the grass runways have to be kept at a max height so you can land safely?
I don't think there is any particular hight but they do need to be kept short. Some are better than others. Have you seen my Lundy video? The grass there is only maintained by the sheep!!
That’s what I wondered as the Lundy one looked long and rough! But pitsford looks well maintained 🙂
