What fun! I've always thought flying one of these little aircraft would be a marvelous experience. It's a hobby I can't get into any longer, but if I can fly with you here on TH-cam, that will be enough.
Bloody hell . Good to see the islands again after nearly 37 years. I used to live in higher town St Martin's and you just went over my old cottage. I haven't been back there since 1987 . I think of the islands nearly every day and I was so happy to see it again. You don't see much when they do tourist information. Had to leave as there was no work and everything is set up now for the rich .look forward to some more videos
@@glennoc8585 makes you sick doesn't it ? Soon there will be no places where normal everyday folk can go. I left St Martin's and went to Porthcawl in South Wales . Even there the prices are shooting up .
Awesome flight and views. The Caribbean looks like that but is a lot warmer 25 to 30 deg C instead of 16 to 19 deg C sea temp. You sound like you are from the Nottingham area.
The algorithm did it's job and brought new eyes to microlight flying. Utterly amazing! The views are spectacular. I was also enchanted by the Scilly Isles. Their tourism board should thank you.
Having come across your trip to Lundy Island yesterday, a quick follow up with the Isles of Scilly, looks wonderful and just added to my "bucket list". Thank you :)
I owned (I think) the 9th Quik ever built but I did the same flight 30 odd years ago in 462 powered Flash 2A! Now that was hair raising! Love your vids. X.
Brought back great memories of day trips to the IoS from Bodmin with my father at the controls of his Piper Cherokee. I can honestly say that it does look like the Caribbean, having honeymooned in Antigua. It could, quite possibly, be nicer, especially St. Martins.
I am so glad i discovered your channel. This is perfect for me. Love how you explain things. Brilliantly done. Please keep your flying/camping videos coming. ❤
Reminded me of three times across the channel from Goodwood to Cherbourg in my home built Renegade microlight...an hour out of sight of land. Butterflies for two days beforehand...glad I did that, but never again!!
Great video, didn't realize there were so many people living on the island, looks a beautiful place and water colour very much like over here in nz. Cheers mate, brian in south island nz.
Wow Trev. Just stumbled across your video browsing on TH-cam. This has got to be one of the best videos I've ever seen. I didn't know the Scilly isles are so beautiful, it was like you discovered a new planet. How amazing you can fly through the clouds and have such confidence navigating to new places. I'd love to be able to do that. Keep up the good work and as a new subscriber looking forward to seeing many more of your ventures 😁👍🛩️
Greetings from Adelaide, Australia. The views are stunning but I was wondering If you could give us(those who have no idea about flying microlight aircraft) a rundown or commentry on the telemetry on the Flexwing while in the air when you do your next video. Excellent channel and will be watching alot more.
Well watched the lundy island one, and now this one very enjoyable. The scenery is stunning so different from above. I hope you could do Scottish islands one day that would be something to see. Thanks for all your effort❤Ruth
Didn't know lundy had a pub, church, museum etc. Would have been nice to see inside them. Never watched owt to do with microlites before, looks fantastic, like something from a dream....brilliant.
In 2001 I was one of ten passengers that flew on the skybus, a Britten Norman Islander from St Just airfield, my seat was just behind the pilot and I had a great view, your video bought back happy memories, we spent 4 days there then flying back on the same route, and yes it is spectacular, haven't been back since , but thanks for sharing Trev, it is a special place isn't it.
Lundy and now the Scillies, I've been to both but your aerial shots take them both to another level. What are your take off and landing speeds, the buffeting when you were coming into land must be rather disconcerting?Fascinated with this side of flying, great presentation and video .
Went there on holiday about 50 years ago, it was a helicopter flight from Penzance, can't remember much except the Abbey Gardens on Tresco and a (rough) boat trip to the Bishop's Rock lighthouse, thanks for the upload!
Very good films. Your passion and expertise for flying come through so well and for the first time since I have ever watched this kind of subject, the desire to be up there with you and share these magnificent views really gets to me. Approaching the Scilly Isles from that altitude was fantastic, never to be equalled by boat. Safe travels MR. LEE.
Often see Microlights buzzing overhead as I live near Headcorn, but first time from a pilots perspective and its absolutely superb! Thank you for sharing!
Trev, that was visually a fantastic flight mate. I’m a novice pilot out of Headon. I didn’t see 09 until last minute. It’s quite inspirational & a great objective to aim for. Regards Batts.
I love your channel. Brilliant stuff. I'd love to do that. I remember the same amazement as I approached the isle's by air. It's spectacular. I'd of loved to do it by microlight. How much does it.cost in fuel and fees to conduct a trip like that. Do you travel down to the take off airfields via car and trailer or fly airfield to airfield. How long did you stay on the islands ..did you explore via boat to the smaller islands... I have so many questions for you. I'd love to attempt that ..but fear the costs and my ability would hinder me... So cool to see it through you. Do you have a parachute... I must stop asking questions ... Thanks for the chance to experience this in a way. Keep it up legend
I fly everywhere. Fuel costs generally are 13 to 15 ltrs per hr + landing fees. we stayed about 2 hrs and flew back to Bodmin airfield. I don't have a parachute 😬
The views from the height you fly gives a great appreciation for the places, the Scilly isles looked fantastic, I did miss hearing the air noise & communication with the towers though lol
Great video. I personally am not a lover of the music and would like to hear the radio and flight sounds. I would love to see how you control the aircraft for example how do you steer while on the ground and what are all the controls. Also and maybe not the best but what happens in an emergency for example if the engine gave way etc. Stay well and happy fights James
I start my training in a few weeks, but I am not sure yet what route to take as I am not the fittest of fiddles, but I do fancy a Paramotor to start off with. That was certainly a worthwhile cause, and I shall have a look through the video series and find the fundraising link. Pleased you made it back to good old UK. :)
We have sailed there so many times . It is wonderful to see it from the air . Our favourite place on the planet . No , scrub that , forget I said it . All you people who watch this should know that this is a crap place and you should not go there . We do not need the thundering herd .
Hey Trev, great video and awesome channel! I recently found your channel and subscribed. Flying is something I would love to do; you're very lucky. Keep up the great videos!

It sure is a wonderfull place
That's a pity that it's a place only for the rich. I used to live near st Ives and it's much the same
What's the maximum cross wind for you're microlight on the runway departure?
@@glennoc8585 makes you sick doesn't it ? Soon there will be no places where normal everyday folk can go. I left St Martin's and went to Porthcawl in South Wales . Even there the prices are shooting up .
Just came over from your Lundy flight. Both amazing 👍👏👏👏
Thank you
Awesome flight and views. The Caribbean looks like that but is a lot warmer 25 to 30 deg C instead of 16 to 19 deg C sea temp.

Incredible views. Loves seeing beaches ive surfed from above. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
What a fabulous way to travel and view the sights. Trulu fascinating.
It really is!
That was great. Would love to hear the air stream as you hear it.
This video had no sound due to GoPro gremins so I put a bit of background music on otherwise it would have been silent
You're very brave flying over such a large amount of water. Please Bring back the live commentary
I'm getting more comfortable with it
Another great upload Trev. Thank you for sharing your experience and privileged view
My pleasure!
Trev, just found your channel. Wow love it. Thanks for making the videos. Scillies look awesome!

Utterly wonderful.....thankyou ....i can only dream of flying into the Scilly islands. May God bless you always.
Many thanks
What a fantastic hobby!
Your not wrong 😉
Another great video. Blown away by the views. That should encourage people to fly
Thanks for watching
This is the most relaxing content on TH-cam. Wonderful.
Glad you enjoy it!
I don't really know anything about microlight flying but it's really interesting to watch and listen. Thanks for the simulation 😊
Your welcome
Wow. I have never been interested in these things but that was amazing to watch. I’m now a subscriber. Fantastic footage.
Awesome, thank you!
Wow that was stunning.
It does look a little like a Caribbean island from up there.
👍
*Visited the Scilly's several times and met and had a chat with Harold Wilson around 1978 who owned a Cottage on St Mary's !*
Awsome
As someone whose family is from the Seychelles, you're right it does look surprisingly like it from above
That's good then as i've never seen the Seychelles from the air 😉

On a normal runway I would rotate at around 60 mph. On landing I approach at 75 to 80 mph and touch down at 50 mph
Nice flight.
Thanks for coming along😊
That was bloody brilliant
Thank you 😉
Amazing....thank you for sharing.

Thank you 👍
I always wanted to do this flight! This was so helpful & nicely edited 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful!

Do you not worry about ditching? Quite a lot of sea there!
To be honest if I spent my time worrying it would spoil an amazing flight. I hope this answers your question.
