I really like the dynamic on those smaller maps and your way to make the game live through your own ideas. I think it makes the elaboration of the game really entertainig and fun to watch. I would really be pleased to watch some further games and ideas like that! Thanks ;-)
One way you can make camps more impactful is to put them in spots where players are likely to attack each other so they can be actually used during combat, like next to a natural expansion maybe? The defender could use a healing camp so it has a better defense or if the attacker takes the camp now he has a much easier time attacking. healing his unit between attacks? Or maybe put them into chokepoints? Currently, camps are just in the corner of maps, which is basically an extra way to farm gold.
@@BenSmith-qw4kd Maybe put like a vision camp close to a start base. When the defender holds it he has an extra 3-5sec of info that attacks are coming and can react. But if the attacker holds it he can see all your base, what you are building stuff like that. It would have made it more interesting than having a vision camp in the middle of the map where it's useless.
How do speed camps work exactly? Do you only gain speed if you're within range? Does the effect last for a short period of time once you're outside of range? Does it just increase movement speed, or does it also increase attack speed? Does it have the same exact range as the other creep camps? Can you make buildings inside of the radius of a speed camp and does it speed up unit production and upgrades? Do they speed up 'mana' or 'animus' regeneration? Seems to me like they can certainly be more interesting.
Currently, they give you a speed buff for entering, and after leaving the circle it lasts for ~10 seconds. They also give a tiny speed buff globally just for having control of the camp (it’s like 5% or something really small). The speed buff also gives more speed as the camp levels up. Doesn’t do anything else, but like you mentioned, could be more interesting.
Sadly, Stormgate is not interesting to watch for me compared to wc3 & sc2. Not readeable and slower paced than sc2, not much going on on the map and no heroes compared to wc3 so camps doesnt make sense. Maybe they should add some incentive to hold the captured points, like some minor neutral spawns or passive income generation? Dunno. But I'm not sold.

Could also choose one of the more inherently useful camp types.
