Hi guys, really sorry I made a mistake with the dimensions so they aren't in the video now but here they are for you! Length - 4,127mm Width - 1,760mm (without mirrors) Height - 1,573mm
@stuartbaker4444 thanks! Yeah I’d go for something more subtle! It’s actually a really good car. I guess my expectations were that there would be plastic everywhere going into and reviewing a cheaper car but actually it’s very solidly built 👌🏼
@@npoleary thought for a future video set, comparison of shared model floorpans so in this case it could have been kamiq, arona, t-cross and Audi equivalent :)
Good video.currently drive a golf with a 1.5 engine.wanted to go back to a suv as i had a vauxhall mokka before i brought my golf.went and test drove a t cross match 1.0 115ps.very nice car to drive.so i ordered one for a march 25 delivery.but it may be longer now that vw are going through industrial action strikes.
Hi Nick, another quality video,I’ve learned so much from your no nonsense, easy to understand videos, thank you so much and please continue. I have recently purchased a 2020 cla,is there any chance you could do a quick/short video on how to cancel previously added favourites on the sat nav ?? Many thanks.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them! If you press the star (in the middle) or on the steering wheel find the favourite you want to remove, then hold your finger on that one and a menu will pop up 🤓
Thanks for the great review. What would you say about the combination of 1.0 TSI 115hp with DSG? Do you think DSG will be reliable first 6 years while warranty lasts? I am considering buying T-Cross but can not make up my mind whether to spend extra money on better package(iq drive, travel assist, ...) or on DSG gearbox?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I didn’t manage to drive the T-Cross DSG here for the this week but I have driven one at and event a few months back. I was actually surprised when a manual turned up, I would always opt for an auto gearbox these days. Makes the experience so much better! If you’re going for a new one I’d definitely recommend that for sure 👌🏼 Have you driven one yet?
@@npoleary Thank you for your reply. Yes I have, I really liked it. But I am afraid of the failures. I am reading forums/reddit for the past few months, and there are a lot of bad experiences with the DQ200.
If you search on forums you will always see people complain about stuff. Let’s be honest I rarely see someone go to a forum and post positively about things 😅 regardless of the manufacturer. I’m a member of several, for my own car and various other brands. They’re all the same
Thank you! 🙏 Yeah it was a great all round solid car! I personally would go for something a little bigger but I do appreciate how VW have maximised the space on the inside! I’d probably go for Match or Style (their trim lines) and their fastest engine which is a little quicker than my current daily car 👍🏼 Not sure on colour but it would probably be grey, not sure I could pull yellow off 😂
I notice that when they manufacture a right hand drive car they leave all the driver controls left hand. The hand brake is on the passenger side. I have the same car as you Nick and the dynamic button is on the passenger side. They don’t swap over the driver controls.
I miss having a yellow car. You have no idea how much time I spent going up and down parking lots looking for a grey or white or black car. :) BTW, you do get manual handbrake with auto gearbox.
Hey thanks so much for watching! Sadly Nissan aren’t a brand that I cover at the moment but never say never! I started my channel covering Mercedes and over the last year have expanded to include BMW & Mini, VW, Volvo, Tesla , BYD, Apple CarPlay topics and Android Auto, car accessories, tips and tricks and in the future just general car news. 📰 May look to do more in the future though! 🤓
In part for the algorithm: I notice VW puts the cruise controls on the steering wheel, where they belong. I wonder how long it will be before other makers (like Porsche) follow suit? Also nice to see some more effort to integrate the infotainment screen into the dash, instead of a glued-on-anomaly look.
I actually until very recently had not driven a Porsche, but I didn’t notice that the one I drove had a separate stalk for cruise. Might have to take a closer look again!
@@npoleary ---- Ha! You obviously didn't use cruise control! If it's useless, why is it hard to find a car without it? A car is, after all, about motion. CC has been around since the 1960's. You are with CC like I am with a cell phone: behind the times. No need to feel antiquated, some men don't like automatic transmissions. A cell phone belongs in your pocket, a CC belongs on the steering wheel.
Well no when I drove it, it was a Porsche Taycan Turbo S and it was on a special test course. So the last thing I wanted to do was use cruise control there. I only had one run in it for about 20 mins at high speed so it was not the time to look at any buttons really on the inside. Maybe next time though!
@@npoleary --- One of the first things I look for is the CC. I passed on Panamera and 911 because they don't put it on the wheel. Two other things I look for are the screen configurations and I don't like EV or hybrids. I probably would not have gone for Bentley (used, parts availability, too much attention grab) but Bentley recently moved the CC OFF the wheel ONTO a stick, and that was just insanity to me, big NO. I will not have a Bentley nor Porsche for that one reason; give me one, I'll sell it. I went with Mercedes for many reasons, but the CC was on the wheel, so it got an initial OK. Toyota, a huge no-nonsense-thank-you manufacturer, recently moved CC off a stick and onto the wheel. I'm still looking at LC 500 but think it might be too much car for me, never use more than 30-40% of it. Genesis is nice, but no convertible. Even Corvette Z1 (L3 or Z06 or 7 or whatever the heck) has CC where it belongs. Caddy as well. The problem with Mercedes is that they make you love them. I watch your videos because you go more in-depth than I do and cover a wider range with more experience. Mechanics' channels are too in-depth. Also, the computer half of the cars, you cover and explain. It seems Mercedes is going to get those right, integrating them into the dash, and with a lot of improvements.
Thank you pointing that out! I accidentally used the stat that was measuring the boot open fully. I've edited that section out and will pin the dimensions in the comments to the video. Thank you again 👊🏼

Nice one. Thanks, Nick. I see you are approaching 30 million total views. Congrats!!
Oh wow! I hadn’t even noticed! 😅 thanks for pointing it out! That definitely slipped under the radar! I’ll have to do a post!
Good video Nick. Interesting I’m after an SUV next hasn’t thought about T Cross looks very good value for money maybe a different colour though 😂

Clear explanation in trim levels
Thank you! 🙏
Great video, the wife picked up a seat arona recently and it's interesting to see how the shared model has been nuanced for vw
Glad you enjoyed the video! Ah well they should be similar as Seat are owned by VW 🤓
Not covered them yet, but might in the future!

Ooo very nice! What colour did you go for?
@npoleary clear blue metallic.with the diamond cut alloy wheels.and went with the match trim.
Good choice 👌🏼

As usual, good review Nick.
Thank you! 🙏
Driving a manual took me back but it was good! I enjoyed this one!
Very accurate review, thank you. We have one of these in our household. Surprisingly spirited fo such a small capacity engine.
Thank you! 🙏 glad you enjoyed the video!
I love the new VW steering wheels fr
Yeah physical buttons are good! Better than touch!

Ah brilliant thanks for sharing! I was curious!
Yes, unfortunately. The main reason why I am holding back buying one of these together with those touch climate controls. Shame.

That makes sense with the cruise control 👍🏼
Ah yes well that’s my favourite bit covering the multimedia system and tech in a car! 🤓
The Volkswagen Taos should come to South Africa & Kia Telluride this colour should also come .
That would be good! What colour would you go for? This colour?
Hello Nice😂
Over two metres in height? Surely not! It would be taller than you...
