I’ve owned my Lexus RX 450h for a couple of years with no issues whatsoever. Just basic maintenance and all is well. They are more pricey than regular Toyota’s but you enjoy the luxury, power and quiet ride. Retiring in two years, this RX will be my primary vehicle as well as my road trip vehicle for many more years to come.
Let me say, the best SUV for seniors of which I am one, is Mazda, specifically the CX-5. It is a 5 star vehicle. Leading in safety, longevity and durability. The SkyActiv engine that gives you high compression for very good power and also great fuel economy. As a senior my wife and I own two Mazda’s. A 2014 Mazda3 that has 100,000 miles and a 2019 Mazda CX-5 that has 60,000 miles. We have never had a problem with either vehicle. The CX-5 is the signature model, meaning it is fully loaded. It has a turbo charged engine that gives you the power you need to pass another vehicle when needed. Mazda gives you pleasure when driving one. Drive one, you will see how solid they are built. They are built to provide great safety. Zoom Zoom!
As an older person with a long torso, broad shoulders, and arthritis, the Subaru Forester is the only one of these I can actually get in and out of without struggling. CRV, Highlander, and RX are painful (though the unmentioned Pilot is decent), and I simply don't trust long term reliability of Hyundai, Kia, or Buick.
Oh I have a Kia Sportage 2020 bought in 2019. Absolutely no problems at all. And the dealership here, near Québec City is fantastic. The car has the room I need for my Berner (dog of course) and me ! I am 68, some knee problems and oh low back sometimes. The height of the seat is 100 % (168 cm tall ). Just love it. Oh last thing … I know that I the lights don’t blind anyone coming towards me. Oh I hate those new bright bright lights.
I’m 85 yrs old. I don’t want lane keeping alert. I want lane keeping automatic. I also want to have the seat in the back position when I get in and out and the correct position for my wife or me to drive. Adaptive cruise control is a must. A spare tire is a must. This reverier must not be or know any seniors.
It's an AI generated video and audio. Listen to the strange sentence structure and missing words. Lane keeping assistance often has multiple settings, from warning beeps to forced recentering. The seat stuff? That means a high end model with seat memory that can be tied to the remote.
@@lilysgram5886 Typically newer adaptive cruise control also works with the front collision mitigation system and can bring the vehicle to a complete stop to avoid a collision.
Please check out the recalls on the Kia Telluride first please!! The tendency to roll while in park and the possibility of the front seats catching on fire!!! Thank you!!
Buick is a great vehicle, the Toyota Highlander, Honda crv are underpowered. I’ve owned both. Kia/hyundai nope never, Honda pilot left off list. The best in my opinion, safety features extremely quite cabin and v6 powered
From a senior. A senior definitely doesn't need all these attention distracting gimmicks, like touch screen, USB ports, hundreds of proximity sensors that supposedly warn you before you hit something, but are more like a pain in butt. Give me a 2010 model or even an earlier one that does have all that expensive stuff that I don't need.
Price is always the catch. Seniors on retirement or like a sinking ship retirement does not cover price increases in anything 2.7% increase in retirement is totally wiped away in one necessary bill that we pay and not only is the 2.7 wiped away but more on top of that, that’s why we are like a sinking ship. Our head is not above water. It’s blow water and going deep for all the time while corporate. America becomes richer all the time and so do the local governments with property taxes. I know of numerous houses that had no improvements over the past three years And yet there assessments went up over $100,000 and local governments do not lower the rates enough to compensate for that. Local governments are reaping a windfall in additional funds and then they sloppily and hazardously spend it at Wil. If the billing is too much, they just say tighten your belt. Well, it’s time no it’s past time for people that take it upon themselves to manage our monies for them to tighten their belts instead of just throwing it to the wind a lot more can be said but I’m not gonna waste my time anymore with this when I can’t pay the bills any longer, I’ll just become homeless and my property can be free of charge to a immigrant that cross the Rio Grande
Why is everyone pushing all of these foreign makes instead of home-grown vehicles? Especially when ‘seniors’ want reliable vehicles that WON’T cost an arm, leg and left… for parts and labor.
I had a 97 Pontiac Bonneville that was very plush and a great ride and great gas mileage. But this car cost me a ton of money in repairs. First thing that went out was the rack and pinion power steering. The dealer had to order the part from Mexico $985. After that expensive repair the Plenum went out and the engine locked up. This was the 3800 series V6 after that the AC went out costing me another $750. I finally decided to sell it to my mother-in-law for one dollar.😅 yes the car was assembled in the USA, but most of the parts came from Mexico. For most of my life, I have been driving Toyotas and will never again buy homegrown vehicles.
Japanese vehicles are the most reliable vehicles you can buy, not perfect but the most reliable. Consumer Reports magazine, a US magazine, recently rated the top five most reliable used vehicles and they are all Japanese. Lexus, Toyota, Acura, Honda and Mazda. These results are based on actual owners reporting problems with their vehicles to Consumer Reports Magazine. Plus they buy or lease some vehicles for longer term evaluations and rent vehicles from the manufacturers for testing. Have a look at one of their magazines on display at retail stores. They explain how they do their tests and evaluations. Hope this helps you understand better.
What price would you pay for one of these cars that are mentioned? We have two Mazda’s. Absolutely the best cars I have ever owned. The 2019 CX-5 is the signature model which has all the xtra’s, it is the highest price model. I paid $40,000 for it. I have never had any problem with either one. As a senior you certainly want a vehicle that is reliable, that vehicle is a Mazda.
Don't trust the Tuscon, I am about to get rid of mine as it has massive electrical problems and my mechanic advised that this is a big problem with them.
First lets get it straight. I would think anyone in the auto world would know how to pronounce car names. Its Hun-day...not Hon-die. You cant get that straight?

Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V yes but I don't trust Kia and Hyundai. Too many engine issues.
@@trentrizza4572 10 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Toyota Venza is your car.

I’m 71 and do NOT use cruise control just in case something happens medically. Not worth the risk!!

I'm surprised that the CRV isn't #1. It's great for senior citizens like me. Absolutely love it!!
Motorcycle engine 1.5L is far too small for the CRV, turbo just stresses the lunch box engine more !
I would not by any KIA!!! I am surprised the Subaru Outback is not on the list.
I love my Kia Sportage. I’ve never had a problem with it
To not even mention the Mazda CX-5 is crazy. It is the best SUV for seniors.

I feel senior for considering one of these 😂
Not many seniors can afford $40,000 SUVs. Try a Corolla Hatch, Civic or an Impreza
How many is not many?
Need to show which ones can accommodate a Bruno VSL-4400 Joey interior lift for electric scooter or electric wheelchair.
Any fast cars! You only live once, now is the time to go for it!!😊
Ford Escape should be on this list. Great car.
I have Sorrento can't wait get rid it I looking trailblazer equinox rava four outback
Price is an important factor which was omitted.
For us seniors on a budget, you better learn to like Bologna if you purchase one of these cars 🤣
Need to know what motor and transmission comes on the base models

What, no RAV4 ???
I don’t like SUV’s or small foreign cars. I prefer a larger, heavier car since I have back issues.
What about the Toyota Venza
Venza was once again discontinued.
Yes hondas are d best
Rav 4. ?
KIA and Hyundai have great design and features. Korean automakers are still not making long term quality cars on par with Toyota.
Have a CRV. My wife’s. Hate it. 10 years. NoisIEST car ever! Can’t see anything near me. It holds water! Open rear hatch-get a bath!

What about a price no price
You didn't include BMW X5. "CR" reported that it's one of their 10 best vehicle EVER! :-)
You need the chinese EV or hybrid cars, more advanced, more luxurious and more affordable. Best of all, more reliable.
Made in china
Buy American made Brands Ford GMC .Buick
If these SUV's were more reliable people would buy them
