Here's hope Goku will break it off with Chi Chi and find someone else like, and if some people can recognize the name of this character good on you, Suno from the Red Ribbon Army saga in the OG Dragon Ball series, unlike Chi Chi, Suno does care about Goku, she listened and cared about all the stories that Goku told about and she actually tried to help people in the King Piccolo Arc, yeah she actually got shit done whereas Chi Chi just sat in her castle and watched the fight, heck when Chi Chi and her dad were attacked she acted like a coward forgetting that she can actually fight, whereas Suno even actually tried to shoot King Piccolo with a sniper rifle, a little girl like Suno has more guts than the daughter of the Ox King that is sad.

In my opinion, it is ok but only if it weakens as the character develops and learns that being a jerk as well, jerky. What I mean is that a tsundere, if made correctly, is someone who does not understand how to act around a loved one so they attack. If they learn that it's wrong and become better, that is a good tsundere.
I think it's important to distinguish bad relationships from poorly written ones. Some of these, such as Light and Misa, were MEANT to be toxic relationships. If written well, a bad romance can make for great drama, but if written poorly, it can be terrible. This is especially true if the badly written relationship is supposed to be romantic by the author's intention, such as with Sakura and Sasuke, or Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
Thank god someone else said it! Light and Misa, and I would argue Yuki and Yuno, were MEANT to be written as toxic. They're tragedies, not romances. I'm only a few episodes into Ayashi no Ceres, so I skipped past that section, but from what little hints they've given us, it doesn't sound like it was supposed to be romantic at all.
Number 1 definitely deserved it's spot though. That show was trying to make you feel sorry for the phycho bitch, and play the yandere gag for laughs. but hey took it way to far and the end result was a relationship so blatantly abusive that I had to drop the show halfway into the first season.
I absolutely agree Baby Hitler, and that`s not even taking account if a relationship is basically ATTEMPTED to be fleshed out at all (Goku and Chichi`s relationship was nothing more then a plot device to get Gohan and Goten, feels like). And Sasuke/Sakura? ugh, don`t even wanna start there.

I always saw Light and Misa's relationship as sort of a Joker and Harley Quinn scenario. He sees her as a pawn in his plan and nothing more. A healthy relationship, no. An interesting part of Light's character arc, yes in my opinion.

Tbh, I'd have put Sasuke and Sakura higher up. Mainly because I feel like the author sacrificed Sakura's potential and development purely to have someone to stay home for Sasuke and tie him to the village. Which irritates me.
She doesn't though, if you watch Boruto she still is a powerful medic and still working at the hospital, HELL, IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW SHE AND INO MADE THE FIRST MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITAL IN KONOHA, and this is because she was on the team of two(No offense Naruto and Sasuke) fucked up boys who had been through so many mental scars in their life. She was still in shape enough to get the drop on frickin Shin Uchiha. Also, even if she is a stay at home wife, wasn't Mikoto Uchiha one as well and no one gave her slack.
Neo Ramey The same hospital she abandoned to chase after Sasuke in the wild and birth Sarada in Oro's hideout due to this. She also endangered Sarada's life just so she can flaunt Uchiha symbol around... and 'drop' on Shin was anime only. But she did destroy her house and almost hit Sarada while she was at it?

She started off as a fangirl and ended as a fangirl. That's what bothers me the most about it. It would've made more sense for her to not end up with Sasuke, and maybe get together with Naruto instead. I felt like they had more chemistry, especially after reading Shippuden.

The Reason for NO. 1 is easy, STOCKHOLM SYNDROME!!! After this I am NEVER going to accept Beauty and The Beast story as a case of Stockholm Syndrome again. Even though they started off at odds with each other Belle and Beast were intended to be lovers but At least the writers knew to make them first off comfortable in the same room together without one crying or the other growling, Belle learning to see the humanity in the Beast and the Beast learning to respect Belle as a person. The Beast changes his ways, Louise doesn't.

I honestly feel sorry for Chichi. As a child, I always hated her, but as a grown up I actually feel sorry for her. Grant it, Goku has the mind of a child, and I think she knows this. But I don't think Chichi is asking for too much, she just wants her husband to be a part of the family's life.
And that's exactly why I hate that Goku and Chi-Chi are on this list.

Bulma understand why Vegeta trains the way he does and shows her support with any way she can. She also embraces the fact that her son is half Saiyan and not neglect that part of him.

Another thing about Chi Chi is during the tournament, she was angry at Goku for not coming back to marry her. Keep in mind that, in the manga, Goku and Chi Chi met once years ago when they were kids and were only around each other for about a day. Not the best grounds for marriage.

seriously even Jaden Yuki is smarter than Goku and he didn't know what fiancee(?) means. He prioritizes his friends safety and well being and his dream at roughly the same level. when there's no danger? his dream is the main goal..when they're in trouble? they're safety comes first. Alexis may not say it out loud but she definitely loves jaden and wants him to succeed. she supports him but she also shows ample concern when he does something reckless. when be a hurt, she tries her best to console him and stay by him. so while jaden may not know what some terms in romance mean? he does know how relationships work.
Was that in the subed version of GX? Cause I only watched the dubbed version and I don't remember seeing any sign of a relationship between Alexis and Jaden.

Satou and Shio - Happy Sugar Life
Shio is a heavily abused, emotionally vulnerable and exploitable little girl who's 5-9 years old
Satou is a young adult woman who has essentially kidnapped and groomed her into being her romantic partner, not letting her leave the house, talk to anyone else, control all aspects of her life, and oh did I mention she's in a romantic relationship with someone under the age of 10????
Its argued that the relationship is not sexual, and that Satous attraction is purely emotional and due to Shio's innocence. Shios abusive background also means that she needs to be kept safe from her own family, but how Satou does this is disgusting and isn't justified.
She keeps this girl in her house, all day every day and trains her - literally TRAINS her, on her to act as her romantic partner. They practise their wedding vows every night after she spent the entire day sitting at the door waiting for her return
Satou is a Yandere psychopath who feels zero empathy. Her infactuation to Shio is a result of her feeling something for someone for once, as sex, relationships and empathy for others is almost entirely meaningless to her
She uses all as a weapon for her own gain
She uses allusions to pedophilia both to control Shio and several other characters also after Shio.
By isolating this girl, killing anyone who tries to come between them, and conditioning her to want to love and be with her forever, it has to be one of the most fucked up relationships in anime
Whether the anime is self aware of this or not is debatable. I am in the camp that it kinda is, and the only reason it is depicted in such an excessively cutesie and romantic light is because it's from Satous point of view snd how she sees it, not because they want to depict this as being an actual "Happy Sugar Life"

Then again, the story and character building is set up so that Satous actions are in a sympathetic light; the fact that every adult in Shios life has failed her for example and so she needs someone to take her in and protect her

Angel Carbajal they weren't supposed to be a lovey dovey couple they needed to restore the uchiha clan
Sasuke and Sakura gets even worst after they get together. Right after they have a daughter sasuke ends up going on a long term solo mission that takes him away from the village for over a decade. The bastard doesn't even take the time to maintain any kind of contact with his wife and daughter; the guy doesn't even know what his daughter looks like(god forbid he have a photo). He left Sakura alone to raise their daughter and to make matters worst the stress of essentially being a single parent seems to be taking its toll on sakura, and Sarada ended up developing serious issues because of his neglect. He ended up, predictably, to be a terrible husband and father. There is just nothing that ever made that relationship work... what's irritating is that the story somehow want's try to convince the audience that Sasuke is a decent person, when he so obviously is not; he's just terrible. (which is additionally sad since Sarada was a legitimately good character with the one downside being that kishimoto forces her to have a positive view of her terrible neglectful father)
Honestly, i would have preferred Sakura getting together with Rock Lee over sasuke. Hell, she'd be a lot better off being alone than being stuck with sasuke(people can be happy on their own too y'know). Its just that bad.
Naruto and Sasuke are so in the closet it aint funny. That said, both of them are ****ed in the head and unhealthy together. Naruto's final battle with him was insane co-dependence.
She would be better by herself, absolutely. I don't know how SasuSaku fans seem to love Naruto Gaiden, it humiliates Sakura even more than the original ending at chapter 699/700. She's so frustrated with her life that her child starts asking questions and she destroys their >unpaid< house for it. Kishimoto even made Sarada doubt her motherhood (of course, because you're gonna doubt the parent that was always there for you, instead of the one you don't even remember). At the end Sasuke gives the infamous "poke" to his daughter and Sakura waits like a puppy for a hug/kiss/poke/wtv and he tuns around and walk away. I love Kishimoto but there's no way that's a healthy relationship, hell, he must know it, it almost seems on purpose.
in Naruto Gaiden karen basically said that sakura started following around because he wouldn't come back to the village and basically raped him and got pregnant to trap him with her. That's one way to start a relationship I honestly don't understand sasusaku fans. they swear that the two built a relationship together and had a big wedding to celebrate when in the end they are stuck 'together' because of selfish desires it can't be anything but toxic

Personally I have found that Sakura is the worse one in terms of a relationship as Sasuke was just the object of her obsessions not Sasuke due to the fact that he was never interested in a relationship with her and even tried to kill her. If I had to qualify which of the two in the relationship was worse... yeah, it is really hard. Sasuke has done things, both good and evil, that are beyond anything Sakura has accomplished. You get *why* he keeps making such choices even while you know he knows better: tragic, confusing backstory is tragically confusing. Sakura has fewer opportunities to do such things, but also isn't dealing with the same junk in her backstory. If she did, I don't know that she'd make better choices, just like I don't know if Sasuke would still go down this road if he'd been from an unremarkable family.
The only reason I was rooting for these two was because I found it preferably to either ending up with Naruto, but in a weird way, they are a terrible couple perfect for each other. @_@

I'm not trying to say what Louise did was right (she even admits in the novels she did bad things to Saito and wonders if she truly deserves his love.). In the second novel, Louise did whip Saito until he passed out from the pain, but in the same novel Saito technically did something bad too; trying to have sex with Louise while she was sleeping 😴, causing Louise to punish him when she woke up, but before he undressed her fortunately. To be fair, she sent him mixed signals, but still. It's about the two trying to improve themselves and become better people as they're aware what they do to each other.

She had a reason to be with him all the times that she was. She had a crush on him. If anyone stalked him (which he didn't), it was Naruto. Sakura acted like an annoying little girl with an intense crush that developed intro true feelings of love (not to be confused with "true love"). It's not the same at all.

Well, that's kinda my point. Sakura had nice guys who liked her and she only had eyes for Sasuke, the guy who insulted her constantly and repeated said he didn't like her at all. Lee, while Sakura didn't like romantically was at the very least her friend. When I say I had hoped it would turn out she had married Lee or something, I mean I had hoped that at some point before the time skip ending that Sakura would have realized better love interests were around her. Or, if the characters around her that actually liked her weren't good enough, a reveal that she had married a totally new character we had never seen before would have still been preferable over Sasuke.

The light navels seem to imply the summoning ritual is the reason. From what I could gather, the ritual slightly alters the mentality of the summoned familiar to make them more drown to the summoner.

There's no reason for Asuna X Kirito to not be on this list. They're one of the most forced/worst couples in anime. They are given no time to develop and Kirito is always surrounded by other girls while him and Asuna don't do anything about it. They're both terrible characters.

Yeah no. I'd have excepted Hinata getting with Naruto if she got proper panel/screen time with him in canon but the only place we get it is in filler and Kishi shoving it down our gullet's in "The Last". Everything from the manga pointed to Naruto and Sakura hooking up Hinata just didn't get enough time for that Relationship to properly build.
And FYI this isnt inconsistancy on my part I also hate the fact that Ginny hooked up with Harry for EXACTLY the same reasons, The reason being to paraphrase JKR "Oh they spent time together but it wasn't important so I didn't show it" It's who your *main character* hooks up with *THAT MAKES IT IMPORTANT!*
Seriously, the only people I would buy Sasuke ending up in a relationship with are Karin or Naruto (and both of these are pushing it, as Sasuke has only ever used or killed the people he claims to care about).
Most of the couplings in Naruto felt forced to me, even Hinata and Naruto. It felt underdeveloped to me, because I felt Naruto had never reciprocate Hinata's feels in that way. Naruto and Sakura would have made the most sense, and was one of the few couples that really had time to develop a real relationship and chemistry in the series.
Mo Sho Naruto and Hinata never had any development to have a proper relationship.

Cause unlike Orihime, she wasn't totally useless as she managed to be useful at later parts of Shippuden (during the Pain assault and Ninja War).
As a wife she is pretty damn good at it as she can keep Naruto on top of his Hokage duties without being overwhelming about it despite his rather clumsiness and laziness at the profession at times, and Naruto appreciates her for doing this (very much by the looks of things given how they got 2 children, and still have a stable relationship)
As for the mother part... she has managed to utterly perfect and improve the Yamato face to scare Boruto into utter submission

that and the fact that kikyo was being a jerk towards him from the very beginning, their relationship was way to overdramatic and had little development . she treated him bad, he was stalking her, she was lonely and just because of escapism decided she wanted an impossible relationship just to feel better, kikyo tried to change inuyasha only because of her selfish thoughts, when she was brought back to life, she manipulated him, tried to harm him and the people he cared for (yandere alarm), she manipulated everyone and was one of the main villains of the show, but still she got redemption in the last arc and everyone are ok with the things she did and try to make her a saint, when she has never been one.

I Object Goku and ChiChi being on this list!! even though Chichi Have a more demanding and tough attitude, she still truly loves him. When Goku gets hurt, she's there for him, when Chichi was in danger and Gohan, he is always there. Compared to the other couples on this list, they are the most modest couple.

This is an unpopular opinion, but if anything, Gohan didn't go well with Videl. Gohan's sweet, caring personality just doesn't mingle well with that of a headstrong Tsundere. I actually prefer the Erased Chronicles to the canon because of it.

I’m honestly surprised that you guys left out the fact that Hatori in canon knowing raped Chiaki even after he told him repeatedly that he doesn’t want to have sex with him and the fact that he wanted him to stop and the fact that their is mutually no trust in their relationship since they both have constantly accused each other on multiple occasions that they are constantly cheating on eachother. (Honestly with a relationship like that that is supposed to be seen as romantic it’s not really that hard to see how doomed to fail it really is.)

I know I may get a lot of flak for saying this but Orihime's and Ichigo's relationship along with suddenly being together seems way too rushed for me. Rukia and Ichigo honestly had more time to cultivate a healthy and good relationship. I was rooting and hoping that they would end up together but sadly that was crushed. I understand that Renji and Rukia were childhood friends that drifted apart than finally become friends again but it seems like she has more compatibility with Ichigo than he does with Orhime. I do like Orihime as a character but just feel that the sudden couple status between them seems too rushed honestly.

To Inuyasha and Kikyo's credit, those two did split up in the Final Act, and Kikyo even accepted Inuyasha chose Kagome. At least those two didn't stay together, and the anime even ended it on a bittersweet and mature note. All the other couples though? Yeeeaaa they all deserve a spot on this list. Especially number 1

They didn't even mention the worst part of the number one couple. Saito's familiar contract suppress his resentment and homesickness while compelling him to obey and protect his master. At the start he is pretty much brainwashed into enduring the abuse and loving Louise in spite of it. Sure the spell gets broken later, but Saito still loves Louise afterward.

It doesn't mean that she did not love him the way he was, but she stopped expecting so much out of him and just accepted him the way he is. Oh, and Akira Toriyama changed Chichi because he wanted her to be a parody of "typical" Japanese mothers who push their children to be the best. That is what happened to the sweet girl we saw at the tournament, so you can blame Toriyama for that slip up.
Chichi is definitely a "tiger mom" but she wants Gohan to grow up to be nothing like Goku. Goku frequently abandons his family in order to save the world or train to do so, he's dead most of Gohan's and Goten's lives which leaves Chichi to raise them both herself. She's probably extremely lonely since her life partner is either always dead or off fighting. I can understand why she's always nagging or pushing Gohan to do studies.

So yeah when her marrying him based on all of this was what made her decision to marry him ridiculous. Especially for her to think he was the type to go to a nine to five job or drive a car or be at home considering the planet is in danger every other minute as well with goku wanting to fight everyone. Hence why their a bad couple.
