    You need to put a lever of some sort of your metal brake and then you wouldnt be working so hard.

    Wow, I couldn't believe that there was no flex when you stepped on the toolbox lid. It is so awesome how well your grandfather is doing.

      It's quite stout. A customer saw me struggling to get on the bed one day, and he suggested making the tool box lid into a step. I think it'll make life much easier! Grandpa's doing good. It is amazing! He was out running the tractor just a few days ago.

    Nice box!
    I cheat, don't have a break, so small angle or square tubing... Makes nice quick solid frame.
    Great to see someone getting around at 102!!!!
    Looks like he gets around better than my dad...he's almost 80...

    Sweet! Just found your channel after Googling "how to build metal truck storage boxes" - We're converting a '97 Thomas School bus into a motorhome. I (Brian) just learned to weld using MIG (skills getting better every day with practice). One of the projects we're going to do is build passthrough storage under the school bus. The bus is a rear-engine pusher, so we don't have to worry about building around the driveshaft. The way you constructed this box gives us a ton of ideas for building our bigger, longer version of it. We'll look for more videos on your channel to learn from. Thanks for showing how you did this.

      Yep, 1914. He started farming with horses. Now he uses a cell phone and his tractor has a fancy computer on it to tell him acres and all kinds of things. That's quite a change!

    That was one fine box and durable enough that it shouldn't bend flex or kink in any way.... much better than I would of done, like I said I'm 70 now but building a tool box was not in my pay grade
    should add a hydraulic slave cylinder to work on the finger brake that is old as grandpa/LOL... good video

      Doggy! Coldest day we've had this Fall is 19 F and it did freeze over their little pond. The ducks were having fun ice skating and pecking at the ice, but the next day it was in the 50's and the ice is gone.

    I guess it is to late to make this suggestion now. But make sure you seal that box well. Because being behind the rear wheels, it will see a lot of dirt, mud and water. And you don't need any of that infiltrating into you tools. But very nice boxes and I like your metal brake myself. If you decide to upgrade, I'll take your old one. Thumbs Up!

    • @WideVisionMetalFab
      @WideVisionMetalFab  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @WideVisionMetalFab
      @WideVisionMetalFab  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, rust isn't much of a problem here. Unless that box has a bad leak somewhere, they should be fine.

    you should fit hydraulic cylinders to your press-break, it will make your life a lot easer,

      Then I'd overload it and brake something! :)

    • @conrayjones9290

      Not really, if you use small diameter cylinder and set the pressure control valve to a low by-pass pressure you should be 100's.It would save a lot of strain on your back.
